Columbia Historic District II

Debruhl-Marshall House is a historic home located in Columbia, South Carolina. It was built in 1820, and is a two-story, five bay, brick Greek Revival style dwelling. It has a gabled slate roof and full basement. The front facade features a three bay portico supported by four massive Doric order columns.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. It is located in the Columbia Historic District II.

Mann-Simons Cottage is a historic home located at Columbia, South Carolina. It was built around 1850, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, cottage style frame house on a raised basement. The front façade features a porch supported by four Tuscan order columns. It was the antebellum home of a substantial free black Columbia family.The house now serves as a museum, with tours offered six days a week. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Ebenezer Lutheran Chapel is a historic Lutheran chapel located in Columbia, South Carolina. It was built in 1830, and rebuilt in 1870, while the restoration took place in 1993 and is a brick church that was extensively renovated in 1900. The front façade features two square towers and finely detailed art glass windows. Adjacent to the church is a Lutheran cemetery which dates to the early 1800s.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Ladson Presbyterian Church is a historic African American Presbyterian church located at 1720 Sumter Street in Columbia, South Carolina. The religious building was initially a chapel founded in 1838 and, rebuilt in 1896, and is a one-story-over-raised-basement, rectangular red brick building in the Renaissance Revival style. It has a front gable roof and features two brick entrance towers. The congregation was founded in 1838, as an offshoot congregation of the First Presbyterian Church.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

The Hale–Elmore–Seibels House or Seibels House is a historic building located in Columbia, South Carolina. Records of the exact year of its construction were destroyed in 1865 during the burning of the city by Union soldiers serving under General William Tecumseh Sherman. The best guess for the date of construction stems from a purported "1796" carved into a beam in the basement. Much of the early history of the house is uncertain, but it is thought to be the oldest building in Columbia.Located at 1601 Richland Street, the house is the headquarters of Historic Columbia, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving Columbia and Richland County's historic and cultural heritage, and its grounds are open to the public for visitation. Its extensive restored garden serves as the backdrop for wedding receptions and other events.

The Columbia Commercial Historic District encompasses a historically significant portion of the central business district of Columbia, South Carolina. It includes portions of three blocks of Main Street between Laurel and Hampton Streets, as well as individual buildings on adjacent streets. It includes the full length of Main Streets east side on these blocks, but only the central block (between Blanding and Taylor Streets) on the west side, extending slightly south of Taylor. This area best illustrates the city's commercial and economic growth for a century, from the end of the American Civil War to about 1963, with a broad diversity of architectural styles found in a small area.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2014, and has twice been enlarged. Nine of the district's 36 buildings are also individually listed.

Columbia Historic District I is a national historic district located in the Arsenal Hill neighborhood at Columbia, South Carolina. The district encompasses nine contributing buildings and includes a complex of fine mansions and attractive homes built before the American Civil War. The buildings are in the Greek Revival, Italianate, Classical Revival, and the “Columbia Cottage” styles. They include the Governor's Mansion, Caldwell-Hampton-Boylston House, Lace House, and Palmetto Iron Works and Armory.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

The Greyhound Bus Depot is a former Greyhound Lines intercity bus station in Columbia, South Carolina. It is at 1200 Blanding Street in downtown Columbia. The depot was named to the National Register of Historic Places on December 28, 1989. After the bus terminal was closed, the building became a bank. Currently, it is a physician's office.

The South Carolina Science Academy (SCSA) was a tuition-free public charter school in Columbia, South Carolina, open to all students that reside in South Carolina. SCSA was a publicly funded school that focuses on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The school currently had enrollment of 136 students in grades 6–12 at the time of closing. The target student population was 450 students. The inaugural year for the South Carolina Science Academy was originally set to be 2012, but the sudden death of the school's founder, Mr. Nathan Yon, pushed that date back to 2014.The SC Science Academy had received a ten-year charter, had been approved by the South Carolina Department of Education, and was authorized by the South Carolina Public Charter School District in 2011. In accordance with the charter school model, an annually elected board of directors composed of local business leaders, educators, and parents governed the school.Enrollment in the 2016 school year was 140 students.The school was AdvancED accredited, and it rated "Good" in opportunities in foreign language. In 2016, the school had 1.3 professional development days per teacher, and 37.5% of its teachers were on continuing contracts.On May 10, 2018, the South Carolina Public Charter School District voted to revoke SC Science Academy's charter, closing the school at the end of the year.

The South Carolina State Hospital was a publicly funded state-run psychiatric hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. Founded in 1821 as the South Carolina Lunatic Asylum, it was one of the first public mental hospitals established in the United States. The Mills Building, its first building, was designed by early American architect Robert Mills, and is a National Historic Landmark. The hospital had more than 1,000 patients in 1900, but with the transition of mental health facilities to community settings, it closed in the late 1990s. While buildings on the campus were temporarily used for inpatient services into the early 2000s, they were not part of the State Hospital, but other inpatient facilities of the agency (e.g., Morris Village Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center and G. Werber Bryan Psychiatric Hospital). Several buildings on its campus housed offices and storage facilities of the state's Department of Mental Health until approximately 2014. In October of 2014, the Department sold the first parcels of the property into private ownership and received the first sale proceeds ($1.5 Million). The William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute (an inpatient psychiatric facility for children and adolescents) remained on the campus until 2015, when it moved to a new facility on Department's Northeast Columbia Campus. As of January 2021, 100% of the South Carolina State Hospital (also known as "Bull Street") property had been transferred to private ownership. Proceeds from the sale of the Bull Street property must be used to benefit patients of the Agency. As of August 2020, the SC Mental Health Commission had authorized the expenditure of $10 million of the proceeds, $6.5 million, for the development of additional community housing for patients.

The Modjeska Monteith Simkins House is a historic place of the civil rights movement. The house, which was owned by Modjeska Monteith Simkins, is located at 2025 Marion Street in Columbia, South Carolina. On March 25, 1994, it was named to the National Register of Historic Places.

Bethel A.M.E. Church is a historic African Methodist Episcopal Church at 1528 Sumter Street in Columbia, South Carolina.It was built in 1921 and added to the National Register in 1982.
