Columbia Historic District I

Jefferson Square, an office complex in downtown Columbia, South Carolina, is the headquarters of the state's Department of Health and Human Services which oversees the Medicaid program for South Carolinians. Located at 1801 Main St. in the city's historic Arsenal Hill neighborhood, the complex includes a 15-story, 150,000 sq ft (14,000 m2) office tower and a two-story courtyard plaza. Also on the Jefferson Square block (bordered by Laurel, Assembly, Richland, and Main) are the offices of Wilson-Kibler real estate, two parking garages, a parking lot, and the Arsenal Hill Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.

The Columbia City Hall, in Columbia, South Carolina, also known as Old United States Court House and Post Office, was built in 1870. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. It includes Renaissance architecture. It served historically as a courthouse and as a post office.It was designed by Alfred B. Mullett.

Ebenezer Lutheran Chapel is a historic Lutheran chapel located in Columbia, South Carolina. It was built in 1830, and rebuilt in 1870, while the restoration took place in 1993 and is a brick church that was extensively renovated in 1900. The front façade features two square towers and finely detailed art glass windows. Adjacent to the church is a Lutheran cemetery which dates to the early 1800s.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The Bouchier Building is a historic commercial building located in Columbia, South Carolina. It was built in 1913–14, and is a three-story, terra cotta faced building with large areas of glass on the upper floors.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places as the Building at 1722–1724 Main Street in 1979.

Ladson Presbyterian Church is a historic African American Presbyterian church located at 1720 Sumter Street in Columbia, South Carolina. The religious building was initially a chapel founded in 1838 and, rebuilt in 1896, and is a one-story-over-raised-basement, rectangular red brick building in the Renaissance Revival style. It has a front gable roof and features two brick entrance towers. The congregation was founded in 1838, as an offshoot congregation of the First Presbyterian Church.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

The J. Bratton Davis United States Bankruptcy Courthouse is a courthouse of the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, located in Columbia, South Carolina. It was originally constructed in 1936, under the supervision of architect Harold Tatum. The courthouse is named for J. Bratton Davis, a bankruptcy judge first appointed in 1978 who later became Chief Judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of South Carolina, and he served in that capacity until 2000. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, having been added to the list on March 2, 1979.

The Greyhound Bus Depot is a former Greyhound Lines intercity bus station in Columbia, South Carolina. It is at 1200 Blanding Street in downtown Columbia. The depot was named to the National Register of Historic Places on December 28, 1989. After the bus terminal was closed, the building became a bank. Currently, it is a physician's office.

The Building at 1644 Main Street, also known as Tapp's Department Store, is a historic commercial building located at Columbia, South Carolina. It was built in 1940, and enlarged in 1950. It is a five- to seven-story, Depression Modern building faced in stucco and dark tremolite stone. Above the main entrance is a distinctive clock face and a sign with large freestanding letters. Tapp's Department Store closed in 1995. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Mann-Simons Cottage is a historic home located at Columbia, South Carolina. It was built around 1850, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, cottage style frame house on a raised basement. The front façade features a porch supported by four Tuscan order columns. It was the antebellum home of a substantial free black Columbia family.The house now serves as a museum, with tours offered six days a week. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Debruhl-Marshall House is a historic home located in Columbia, South Carolina. It was built in 1820, and is a two-story, five bay, brick Greek Revival style dwelling. It has a gabled slate roof and full basement. The front facade features a three bay portico supported by four massive Doric order columns.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. It is located in the Columbia Historic District II.

Sidney Park Colored Methodist Episcopal Church, also known as Sidney Park Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, is a historic Methodist Episcopal church located at Columbia, South Carolina. It was built in 1893, and is a brick Late Gothic Revival style church. It features the only set of octagonal towers in Columbia; each is topped by an octagonal steeple. The church also has lancet windows and pointed arches, wall buttresses, and a heavy timber truss system. The African-American congregation has a long history of involvement with civil rights activity and connection with the NAACP.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Columbia Historic District II is a national historic district located at Columbia, South Carolina. The district encompasses 113 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site in a former residential section of Columbia. They were built between the early-19th century and the 1930s (majority between 1900 and 1918) and are now mostly used for commercial purposes. The buildings are in the Greek Revival, Gothic Revival, Classical Revival, and the “Columbia Cottage” styles. Notable buildings include the Robert Mills House, Debruhl-Marshall House, Hampton-Preston House, Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Crawford-Clarkson House, Maxcy Gregg House, Hale-Elmore-Seibels House, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and Ebenezer Lutheran Church.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. It was enlarged in 1982, and underwent a boundary adjustment in 2018.
