Irondequoit Creek is a stream in eastern Monroe County, New York that feeds Irondequoit Bay. It begins in rural West Bloomfield in Ontario County, flowing north into the town of Mendon in Monroe County. Accumulating a few small tributaries, it twists eastward back into the Ontario County town of Victor, then back north into Monroe County, where it flows through the towns of Perinton and Penfield on its way to the bay. It also skirts the edge of the combined town and village of East Rochester. The creek is believed to lie in a valley carved out by a pre-glacial Genesee River, which at the time would have flowed into Lake Ontario where Irondequoit Bay does today. Glacial debris caused the river to be rerouted as the glaciers retreated, leaving only the comparatively small creek (Rogers 1893). The first settlements in the town of Penfield sprang up along the creek, as its waters were well suited to mills. The Daisy Flour Mill, previously a restaurant, was the last of over a dozen mills that once used the creek's waters. The creek's valley caused a problem for the engineers of the original Erie Canal, who ultimately had to build the Great Embankment aqueduct to bridge the valley near Bushnell's Basin (Fairchild 1896:134, Farley 2010, Schoff:505). The creek is stocked annually with fish by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation for year-round fishing.

WFKL (93.3 MHz) is an FM radio station licensed to Fairport, New York, and serving the Rochester metropolitan area. The station, branded as "Fickle 93.3", broadcasts an adult hits radio format, or what the station refers to as "We Play Everything," similar to Jack FM. It is and owned by Stephens Media Group which also owns WRMM and WZNE. The studios are in the First Federal Plaza building in downtown Rochester. WFKL has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 4,400 watts. The transmitter is off Five Mile Line Road in Penfield, New York.

Irondequoit Bay is a large body of water located in northeastern Monroe County, New York. The bay, roughly 0.5 miles (0.80 km) wide and 4 miles (6.4 km) in length, is fed by Irondequoit Creek to the south and flows into Lake Ontario at its northern end. On average, the surface of Irondequoit Bay rests at 245 feet (75 m) above sea level and is 80 feet (24 m) deep at its deepest point a short distance north of the Irondequoit Bay Bridge carrying the six-lane New York State Route 104 over the bay.The center of the bay acts as the eastern border for the town of Irondequoit and the western border of the towns of Penfield and Webster. The Irondequoit–Penfield boundary continues along the center of Irondequoit Creek south of the New York State Route 404 float bridge.During the past million years there were four glacial ages that covered the Rochester area with ice and impacted the geography of the area. The most recent glacier that left evidence here was about 100,000 years ago and it caused compression of the earth by as much as 2,500 feet (760 m). About 12,000 years ago, the area underwent massive changes, which included the rerouting of the Genesee River and other water bodies. Since the earth rebounded from the melting glaciers more rapidly in Canada than in New York, water from Lake Ontario was spilled over New York due to its lower elevation. During this time, the original outlet of the Genesee River was flooded out, creating Irondequoit Bay.On a French map of the area from 1688 titled "Le Lac Ontario" Irondequoit Bay was referred to as the "swamp of the Senecas". The Daisy Flour Mill is a restaurant and assembly hall located in what was once a flour mill on Irondequoit Creek. It is located on Blossom Road in the town of Penfield, New York, just across the creek from Ellison Park. Originally built in 1840, it is the last remaining mill on Irondequoit Creek.The weatherboard building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 26, 1972.

Webster Schroeder High School is a public high school located in Webster, Monroe County, New York, U.S.A., a suburb of Rochester, and is one of two high schools operated by the Webster Central School District.

The Irondequoit Bay Bridge is a 2,375.36-foot (724.01 m) continuous truss bridge spanning Irondequoit Bay in eastern Monroe County, New York, in the United States. It is 87 feet (27 m) wide and carries the six-lane New York State Route 104 (NY 104) from the town of Irondequoit on the west side of the bay to the town of Webster on the bay's east side. The western approach is just east of NY 104's interchange with NY 590. The bay bridge was built in 1967, has nine spans and handles an average of 67,229 vehicles per day as of 2006.Views from the bridge are somewhat obstructed by the concrete side barriers, especially for smaller cars.

Hipp–Kennedy House is a historic home located at Penfield in Monroe County, New York. The main body of the house was built in 1838 and is in the Greek Revival style. The frame building is composed of a two-story, three-bay main block with center entrance flanked by identical 1+1⁄2-story wings. The north wing of the residence is believed to incorporate the remnants of a log dwelling built about 1804.It was designated as a Penfield landmark in 1982 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

Horace and Grace Bush House, also known as Bush-Fellows Residence, is a historic home located at Penfield in Monroe County, New York. It is an 1821 Federal style structure with Greek Revival period additions and embellishments. The main block is a two-story, five bay post and beam structure sheathed in clapboard. It is regular and symmetrical in massing and plan. The house was moved to its current location in 1931.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

Our Lady of Mercy School for Young Women is a private all-girls Catholic school teaching grades 6–12, located in Brighton, Monroe County, New York, United States, near Rochester. It is located within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rochester. The American Sisters of Mercy founded Our Lady of Mercy High School in Rochester in 1928, based in the tradition of the Roman Catholic sisterhood begun by Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy. The building was built in 1928, and designed by noted Rochester architect J. Foster Warner (1859–1937). It educated young women in grades 9-12 for the first six decades of its operation, branching out to include grades 7 and 8 in 1990. In September 2012, Our Lady of Mercy High School expanded to include grade 6. To reflect this change, its name was changed to Our Lady of Mercy School for Young Women.
