Freguesia do Ó (São Paulo Metro)

Freguesia do Ó is one of 96 districts in the city of São Paulo, Brazil.

João Paulo I will be one of the future stations of São Paulo Metro and will belong to Line 6-Orange, which is under construction. In its first phase, with 15.9 km (9.9 mi) of extension, Line 6 should connect Brasilândia, in the North Side, to São Joaquim station of Line 1-Blue. Later, the line should connect Rodovia dos Bandeirantes to the borough of Cidade Líder, in the East Side. The station will be located in the confluence between Avenida Miguel Conejo, Avenida João Paulo I and Rua Baião Parente, next to Rua Ameliópolis. The construction of the station began in 2016, when the opening date was estimated to mid-2020. Later, Governor Geraldo Alckmin promised the opening of the first phase of the line to 2020, time which was discarded due to a year of delay in the financing of the Federal Savings Bank, which would be used for the expropriations. In June 2016, the opening of the line was estimated for 2021, time kept in October 2017, when the resume of the construction was announced for the beginning of 2018. Currently, the construction is suspended, due to the involvement of the construction companies of the Move São Paulo consortium (Odebrecht, Queiroz Galvão, UTC Participações) in Operation Car Wash, which caused them to not get the financing of R$ 5.5 billions (US$ 1,575,344,427.58) with the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) for the continuity of the construction. The State Government of São Paulo is currently in negotiations with international companies, including Spanish Acciona and Chinese China Railway Construction Corporation.

Estádio Nicolau Alayon, also known as Estádio Comendador Sousa, is a football (soccer) stadium located in the Brazilian city of São Paulo, São Paulo state. It is the home stadium of Brazilian football club Nacional Atlético Clube, also known as Nacional (SP), and Audax São Paulo Esporte Clube. It has a maximum capacity of 9,660. The stadium is named after the Uruguayan Nicolau Alayon, who was Nacional's president during the stadium's construction. The Subprefecture of Lapa is one of 32 subprefectures of the city of São Paulo, Brazil. It comprises six districts: Lapa, Barra Funda, Perdizes, Vila Leopoldina, Jaguaré, and Jaguara.In the north area of Lapa, which comprises the bairros of Barra Funda, Água Branca and the "Low Lapa" (Lapa de baixo) most of the people are descendants of proletarian families who once worked in the two main railways of the city: São Paulo Railway and the Sorocabana. Today, both of these railways station have become local urban train stations. The southern area of the subprefecture, which includes the "High Lapa" (Alto da Lapa) and the bairros of Perdizes, Sumaré and Pompéia, is a high-class area and has many historic buildings, and has many descendant of the English engineers who built the railways. Also the main campus of the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP) is located in this place, in the district of Perdizes, as well as Allianz Arena, home of the football team Palmeiras.

Água Branca is a train station on CPTM Line 7-Ruby, in the district of Água Branca in São Paulo. In the future, it will be connected with São Paulo Metro/Move São Paulo Line 6-Orange and CPTM Line 8-Diamond and Regional Trains (Americana↔Santos and Sorocaba↔Pindamonhangaba).

The Week International (Brazilian Portuguese: [ˈdɛ ˈwik(ɪ) ˌĩteɾˈnɛʃõnaw], often just referred to as The Week) is an after hours LGBT nightclub located in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. Opened in September 2004, in Lapa, and became in the moment the biggest gay nightclub of São Paulo, Brazil, and Latin America. The massive 64,000-square-foot (5,900 m2) nightclub features two dancefloors, a garden, a pool, several bars, valet parking, and a vip area. Bringing in over 2,500 people every weekend, over the past years The Week was responsible not only for significant changes in São Paulo nightlife in general. The club's constant strive for innovation and quality has become one of the driving forces in Brazil's changing club scene, and has forced several other business to raise their standards. The success of The Week São Paulo has resulted in the opening of a branch in Rio de Janeiro in July 2007, and in branch in Florianópolis in 2008. The latter is open seasonally during the months of summer. Most recently, The Week has also signed a partnership with Matinee Group in Spain, which has already brought parties to Brazil and will be able to host The Week parties with a Brazilian flair throughout Europe.

On the morning of February 7, 2025, a King Air F90 small plane crashed and exploded in Barra Funda, a neighborhood in the city of São Paulo. Inside the aircraft, Márcio Louzada Carpena and Gustavo Carneiro Medeiros died on the spot, six people were injured on the ground and another person had an anxiety crisis and was taken to hospital. The circumstances of the disaster are still being investigated by the police and Cenipa.
