Parc Victoria

Notre-Dame-des-Anges is a parish municipality in Quebec, Canada, home of the General Hospital of Quebec. Enclaved within the territory of Quebec City, this unusual municipality had a population of 241 and measures only 6 hectares (15 acres) in area, making it the smallest incorporated municipal entity in Canada. With a density of 6,478.5/km2 (16,779/sq mi) according to Statistics Canada, it is the second densest census subdivision in Canada.It lacks any governmental structure and has no mayor but rather an "administrator."

The Hôpital-Général de Québec is a Canadian medical facility located in the tiny municipality of Notre-Dame-des-Anges, Quebec (which consists solely of the hospital), surrounded by the La Cité-Limoilou borough of Quebec City. It was classified as an historic site in 1977 by the Quebec government. Additionally, an archeological site listed on the Inventaire des sites archéologiques du Québec (Register of archeological sites of Quebec) is located there. The central portion of the hospital cemetery, where over 1,000 French and British soldiers who died in the battles of the Plains of Abraham and Sainte-Foy are interred, is a National Historic Site of Canada. General Louis-Joseph de Montcalm is buried at the cemetery.

Stade Canac is a stadium in Quebec City, Quebec. It is used primarily for baseball and is currently the home stadium for the Quebec Capitales of the independent Frontier League. Originally opened in 1939, it has a capacity of 4,300 and is located within the boundaries of Parc Victoria, a municipal park and recreation area located between the St-Roch district of Quebec City and the south shore of the Saint-Charles River. The ballpark is often informally referred to as simply "Parc Victoria" by local residents even though the field only occupies about a quarter of the park's total area. Modest in capacity relative to the size of the city's population, it has been well-attended during Capitales home games.

Quebec Arena was an indoor ice hockey arena in Quebec City, Quebec. It was built in 1913 and was the home of the Quebec Bulldogs of the NHA and NHL until the team moved to Hamilton, Ontario in 1920. It was located at Victoria Park. It burned down in 1942.

Saint-Roch is a downtown neighbourhood in the borough of La Cité in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. It is the central business district. Once a working-class quarter, some of its parts have been gentrified in recent years.

La Cité-Limoilou is the central borough of Quebec City, the oldest (in terms of architecture), and the most populous, comprising 21.85% of the city's total population. As an administrative division, it is very new, having only been formed on November 1, 2009, from the former boroughs of La Cité and Limoilou.

Taschereau is a provincial electoral district in the Capitale-Nationale region of Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It consists of part of the La Cité-Limoilou borough of Quebec City and the tiny enclave of Notre-Dame-des-Anges. It was created for the 1973 election from parts of Jean-Talon and Saint-Sauveur electoral districts. In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, it lost territory to Jean-Lesage and Vanier-Les Rivières but gained territory from Jean-Talon. The district is named after former Quebec Premier Louis-Alexandre Taschereau who served as premier from 1920 to 1936.

The Lairet River is a tributary of the Saint-Charles River, crossing Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. Over two kilometers long, it took its source in the vicinity of Charlesbourg and flowed in meanders in Limoilou. It has been completely channeled since the 1960s, except for a segment refitted in 2008.

CKRL-FM is a French-language Canadian radio station located in Quebec City, Quebec. The station operates under a community radio licence and is owned by a non-profit group known as CKRL-MF 89,1 inc. It broadcasts on 89.1 MHz with an effective radiated power of 1,495 watts (class A) using an omnidirectional antenna, broadcasting from Edifice Marie-Guyart in downtown Quebec City. CKRL-FM began broadcasting on February 15, 1973 at 5 p.m. and was originally a campus radio station for the Université Laval; this situation ceased in 1984, although the name of the corporation remained "Campus Laval FM inc." for many years thereafter. 94.3 CHYZ-FM became the new campus radio station of that university in 1997. The station is a member of the Association des radiodiffuseurs communautaires du Québec.

The Dorchester Bridge is a bridge in Quebec City which was built by Asa Porter and opened on 24 September 1789. The bridge was named after Guy Carleton, 1st Baron Dorchester and was the first permanent bridge in Quebec City. The bridge crossed the Saint-Charles River near its mouth, connecting to Craig Street.In 1822 the bridge was rebuilt and moved slightly to the west. The new structure was built by Anthony Hedley Anderson and his partner, a Mr. Smith, and was operated as a toll bridge. The long wooden structure included a drawbridge to allow ships to pass.

Cartier-Brébeuf National Historic Site is a National Historic Site of Canada and so designated by the Historic Sites and Monuments board of Canada in 1958 under the recommendation of John Diefenbaker, the Prime Minister of Canada at the time. It is administered by Parks Canada and located at the confluence of Saint-Charles and Lairet rivers, in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, more precisely in La Cité-Limoilou borough. On the site you can find an interpretation centre and a 6,8 hectares inner-city park characterised by an uneven landscape and divided into two sectors "East" and "West" separated by the Lairet river. Several commemorative monuments and elements are also present. The site commemorates the second voyage of Jacques Cartier; more precisely in 1535-1536 when he and his shipmates wintered near the Iroquoian village of Stadacona (Quebec City). It also recalls the establishment of the first residence of the Jesuit missionaries in Quebec, in 1625-1626. Moreover, by the end of the 17th century up to the opening of the national historic site in 1972, it hosted numerous hand-crafted and industrial activities such as a tannery, a pottery, a brickyard, a shipyard, a sawmill, a junkyard and a snow-dumping lot. Today, the site offers a museum exhibition, animations for elementary and high school groups, thematic events, and a natural habitat in an inner-city park. A cycleway and the linear park of Saint-Charles river also cross the park's ground.
