The East Midlands is one of nine official regions of England. It comprises the eastern half of the area traditionally known as the Midlands. Long Bennington is a linear village and civil parish in South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England, just off the A1 road, 7 miles (11 km) north of Grantham and 5 miles (8 km) south of Newark-on-Trent. It had a population of 2,100 in 2014 and 2,018 at the 2011 Census.

It is situated 1 mile (1.6 km) east from the A1 road and Long Bennington, and 6 miles (10 km) north from Grantham. In 1921 the parish had a population of 132. On 1 April 1931 the parish was abolished and merged with Dry Doddington to form "Westborough and Dry Doddington". Nearby to the north is Dry Doddington. The Viking Way and River Witham pass through the village. The name 'Westborough' means 'west fortification'.The village Grade I listed Anglican church is dedicated to All Saints.

In 1921 the parish had a population of 131.

Westborough and Dry Doddington is a civil parish in the north-west of South Kesteven in the county of Lincolnshire. The population of the civil parish was 335 at the 2001 census increasing to 365 at the 2011 census.

Allington is a village and civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England, 3 miles (5 km) north-west of Grantham. The 2001 census gave a parish population of 728 in 329 households. The population increased to 897 in 422 households in the 2011 census.

Debdale Meadow, Muston is a 4.3-hectare (11-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north of Muston in Leicestershire.This traditionally managed meadow has diverse flora typical of the clay soils of the Midlands, and it has evidence of medieval ridge and furrow cultivation. Flora include cowslip, bulbous buttercup and pepper-saxifrage.The site is private land with no public access.

Royal Air Force Bottesford or more simply RAF Bottesford is a former Royal Air Force station located on the Leicestershire-Lincolnshire county border, 6.8 miles (10.9 km) north west of Grantham, Lincolnshire and 7.6 miles (12.2 km) south of Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire and about 107 miles (172 km) north-northwest of London, England. Opened in 1942, it was used by both the Royal Air Force (RAF) and United States Army Air Forces (USAAF). During World War II it was used primarily as a troop carrier airfield for paratroopers and as a bomber airfield before closing in 1948. Today the remains of the airfield are located on private property with the technical site being used as an industrial estate.One of the runways is currently used by Cazoo for storing cars and the control tower used as an office.

Claypole is a village and civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 1,382. It is situated 4 miles (6.4 km) south-east from the market town of Newark-on-Trent, just east of the Grantham to Newark stretch of the A1. The name Claypole is from the Old English 'clæg' and 'pol', for "clayey pool". The village is recorded in the Domesday Book as "Claipol" and as having a church, a priest and one mill.

Claypole railway station was a station in Claypole, Lincolnshire that was in operation from 1852 to 1957.

Sedgebrook railway station was on the Nottingham to Grantham line in the East Midlands of England. The station lay between Bottesford and Grantham. It served a population of about 900 in the villages of Sedgebrook and Allington and the hamlet of Casthorpe, all in Lincolnshire. It was closed in 1956.
