Claypole is a village and civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 1,382. It is situated 4 miles (6.4 km) south-east from the market town of Newark-on-Trent, just east of the Grantham to Newark stretch of the A1. The name Claypole is from the Old English 'clæg' and 'pol', for "clayey pool". The village is recorded in the Domesday Book as "Claipol" and as having a church, a priest and one mill.

The village is situated 8 miles (13 km) north from Grantham and 5 miles (8 km) south-east from Newark-on-Trent in Nottinghamshire. Adjacent villages include Claypole, Dry Doddington, Beckingham and Brandon. The parish church is a Grade II* listed building dedicated to Saint Martin, built in 1799, with a chancel added in 1869.Stubton Hall is a large Grade II listed country house, built in 1813-14 by Sir Jeffry Wyatville for Sir Robert Heron, 2nd Baronet. In 1918 it was purchased by Sir Edmund Royds. After his death in 1946 it was purchased by Lincolnshire County Council, and from 1952 to 2003 it was used as a boarding school, and is now a hotel and wedding venue.

Barnby in the Willows is a village and civil parish in the Newark and Sherwood district of Nottinghamshire, England, just east of Newark-on-Trent. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 244, increasing to 272 at the 2011 Census. Just to the south of the village is the River Witham, which also forms the border with Lincolnshire here. There are five streets composing Barnby: Front Street, Dark Lane, Cross Lane, Long Lane and Back Lane. The parish church of All Saints consists of a chancel, nave and two aisles of the 13th century and a west tower which is 15th century. The altar rails are of the early 17th century.

Westborough is a village in the civil parish of Westborough and Dry Doddington, in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated 1 mile (1.6 km) east from the A1 road and Long Bennington, and 6 miles (10 km) north from Grantham. In 1921 the parish had a population of 132. On 1 April 1931 the parish was abolished and merged with Dry Doddington to form "Westborough and Dry Doddington". Nearby to the north is Dry Doddington. The Viking Way and River Witham pass through the village. The name 'Westborough' means 'west fortification'.The village Grade I listed Anglican church is dedicated to All Saints.

Fenton is a village in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated 14 miles (23 km) south-west from the city and county town of Lincoln, 2 miles (3.2 km) north-east from the village of Claypole and 1.5 miles (2.4 km) south from the A17 road. Fenton Grade I listed Anglican church is dedicated to All Saints. It has a crocketed spire and is mainly of Perpendicular and Decorated style, but retains a Norman north arcade. The chancel was rebuilt in 1838 and restored in 1875.

Fernwood is a village and civil parish in the Newark and Sherwood district of Nottinghamshire, England. The parish, which then included Balderton, had a population of 10,298 in 2001. It is a suburb of Newark-on-Trent. The population of the civil parish was given as 2,190 in the 2011 Census. Balderton was by that time a separate civil parish. Modern Fernwood expansion has taken place on the site of the old Balderton Hospital which closed in 1993, with street names based on names of former hospital wards and employees.Following years of planning, preparatory work was started in 2023 to create an extension and bypass-link from the A1 near Fernwood, via Middlebeck to the A46 at Farndon.

Long Bennington Priory was a priory in Lincolnshire, England. The church at Long Bennington was granted by Ralf de Fougères, to the Cistercian abbey of Savigny in 1163, but it seems that the priory did not come into existence until around the end of the twelfth century. There is mention of a warden or keeper of the house, appointed from Savigny, on the Patent Rolls of 1319 and 1323. It is believed there was only one monk in residence there. The priory was taken into the king's hands, and restored again, in 1339–40. In 1401 the priory was being farmed for the king by the prior, Michael Rogers, and one Michael Montayn. In 1462 it was granted, with other property of Aliens, for the support of the priory of Mount Grace in Yorkshire.

Long Bennington is a linear village and civil parish in South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England, just off the A1 road, 7 miles (11 km) north of Grantham and 5 miles (8 km) south of Newark-on-Trent. It had a population of 2,100 in 2014 and 2,018 at the 2011 Census.

Beckingham is a village and civil parish in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. The population of the civil parish (including Stapleford) at the 2011 census was 452. It is situated approximately 4 miles (6 km) east from Newark-on-Trent on the A17 road, and on the east bank of the River Witham. Beckingham is largely a residential community with a village hall. The village public house is the Grade II listed Pack Horse Inn. Nearby to the west is Newark Golf Course. The Grade I listed parish church is dedicated to All Saints. It was restored in 1857, 1888, and 1889–90. The church was featured on the BBC TV programme Restoration in 2006, where it became a regional runner-up. Further listed buildings are The Old Smithy, Sutton Lane Farmhouse, Beckingham Hillside Cottages, Glebe Farmhouse, Apricot Hall, Rose Cottages, The Rectory, and Redvers House,In 1972 the village was bypassed by a dual-carriageway at a cost of £600,000.
