Debdale Meadow, Muston

Muston (pronounced Musson) is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Bottesford, in the Melton district, in north-east Leicestershire, England. It is 18.6 miles (29.9 km) east of Nottingham, five miles (8.0 km) west of Grantham on the A52 and 12.5 miles (20.1 km) north of Melton Mowbray. It lies on the Leicestershire/Lincolnshire county border, two miles east of Bottesford. The River Devon (pronounced Deevon) flows through the village. In 1931 the parish had a population of 218. On 1 April 1936 the parish was abolished and merged with Bottesford.

Royal Air Force Bottesford or more simply RAF Bottesford is a former Royal Air Force station located on the Leicestershire-Lincolnshire county border, 6.8 miles (10.9 km) north west of Grantham, Lincolnshire and 7.6 miles (12.2 km) south of Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire and about 107 miles (172 km) north-northwest of London, England. Opened in 1942, it was used by both the Royal Air Force (RAF) and United States Army Air Forces (USAAF). During World War II it was used primarily as a troop carrier airfield for paratroopers and as a bomber airfield before closing in 1948. Today the remains of the airfield are located on private property with the technical site being used as an industrial estate.One of the runways is currently used by Cazoo for storing cars and the control tower used as an office.

Sedgebrook railway station was on the Nottingham to Grantham line in the East Midlands of England. The station lay between Bottesford and Grantham. It served a population of about 900 in the villages of Sedgebrook and Allington and the hamlet of Casthorpe, all in Lincolnshire. It was closed in 1956.

Muston Meadows is an 8.8-hectare (22-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south of Muston in Leicestershire. It is also a National Nature Reserve and a Nature Conservation Review site.These ridge and furrow meadows are on soils derived from clay. Herbs include green-winged orchid, lady's bedstraw, yellow rattle, pepper saxifrage and cowslip.The site is in two different areas, both of which are open to the public. At Muston Meadows, hay is cut in late summer and over winter the meadow is grazed by cattle. This prevents the meadow habitat from transitioning to forest through ecological succession. Some of the plants in the nature reserve only grow in meadows and this kind of habitat is very threatened in the UK; 97% of Britain's wildflower meadows have been destroyed since the 1930s.

Sedgebrook is an English village and civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire. It lies on the A52 road, 6 miles (9.7 km) west of Grantham. Its population, given as 372 in 2001, fell by the 2011 census to 355, and was estimated to be 347 in 2019.

Allington is a village and civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England, 3 miles (5 km) north-west of Grantham. The 2001 census gave a parish population of 728 in 329 households. The population increased to 897 in 422 households in the 2011 census.

Bottesford railway station serves the village of Bottesford in Leicestershire, England. The station is 15 miles (24 km) east of Nottingham, on the lines to Grantham and Skegness. It is the least used station in Leicestershire.

St Mary the Virgin's Church is in the village of Bottesford, Leicestershire, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Framland, the archdeaconry of Leicester and the diocese of Leicester. Its benefice is united with those of eight local parishes. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building.

Newbo Abbey was a Premonstratensian house of canons regular in Lincolnshire, England, and was dedicated to the Assumption of Mary.

Long Bennington Priory was a priory in Lincolnshire, England. The church at Long Bennington was granted by Ralf de Fougères, to the Cistercian abbey of Savigny in 1163, but it seems that the priory did not come into existence until around the end of the twelfth century. There is mention of a warden or keeper of the house, appointed from Savigny, on the Patent Rolls of 1319 and 1323. It is believed there was only one monk in residence there. The priory was taken into the king's hands, and restored again, in 1339–40. In 1401 the priory was being farmed for the king by the prior, Michael Rogers, and one Michael Montayn. In 1462 it was granted, with other property of Aliens, for the support of the priory of Mount Grace in Yorkshire.
