Rouge River East

The Lac la Retenue is an artificial body of water crossed by the rivière la Retenue, a tributary of the Ferrée River. This lake is located northeast of the city of Quebec, in the municipality of L'Ange-Gardien, in the La Jacques-Cartier Regional County Municipality, in the administrative region of Capitale-Nationale, in the province of Quebec, in Canada. Lac Savane is served on the north side by rue de la Vallée, on the east side by chemin Turgeon, on the south side by chemin du Lac la Retenu Sud and on the west side by chemin Lucien Lefrançois. This lake is located in the heart of a residential area in L'Ange-Gardien. The surface of Lac la Retenue is generally frozen from the beginning of December until the end of March; however, safe traffic on the ice is generally from mid-December to mid-March. The water level of the lake varies with the seasons and the precipitation; the spring flood occurs in March or April.

The rivière la Retenue (English: Retained River) is a tributary of the east bank of the Ferrée river. It flows in the municipalities of Château-Richer and L'Ange-Gardien, in the La Côte-de-Beaupré Regional County Municipality, in the administrative region of Capitale-Nationale, in the province of Quebec, in Canada. The lower part of this valley is served by roads around Lac la Retenue. The intermediate part which follows the foot of the big mountain, is served by a forest road for the needs of forestry and the maintenance of high-voltage lines of Hydro-Quebec. The upper part, which is difficult to access because of the mountainous terrain, is served by a forest road from the north. Forestry is the main economic activity in this valley; second, recreational tourism. The surface of the Retained River is generally frozen from the beginning of December until the end of March; however, safe traffic on the ice is generally from mid-December to mid-March. The upper part of the river is subject to a frost period of about a week more due to the altitude. The water level of the river varies with the seasons and the precipitation; the spring flood occurs in March or April.

The Bras Nord-Ouest (English: North-West Branch) is a tributary of the north shore of lac la Retenue, on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River. It flows in the municipality of L'Ange-Gardien, in the regional county municipality (MRC) of La Côte-de-Beaupré Regional County Municipality, in the administrative region of Capitale-Nationale, in the province of Quebec, in Canada. The lower part of this valley (north of Lac la Retenue) is served by de la Vallée, des Montagnes and de la Rivière streets. The surface of the Northwest Arm is generally frozen from the beginning of December until the end of March; however, safe traffic on the ice is generally from mid-December to mid-March. The water level of the river varies with the seasons and the precipitation; the spring flood occurs in March or April.

Moulin du Petit-Pré, also known as Moulin de Monseigneur-de-Laval, is a water-powered flour mill in Château-Richer, Quebec, Canada on the north shore of the St. Lawrence river about 20 kilometres northeast of the City of Québec. It is the oldest commercial flour mill in North America. The mill was built for the Seminary of Quebec under the auspices of Bishop François de Laval. Construction began in 1691 and was completed by 1695. At various times in its 325-year history, the mill has been used to grind wheat, mill lumber, and cord wool. It was damaged or destroyed by fire three times. The mill currently serves as a cultural and historical landmark in Quebec.

L'Ange-Gardien is a municipality in the Capitale-Nationale region of Quebec, Canada. It is part of La Côte-de-Beaupré Regional County Municipality. L'Ange-Gardien changed status from parish municipality to ordinary municipality on May 17, 2007.

The lower part of this small valley is served by Avenue Royale and the route 138 which runs along the north shore of the St. Lawrence River. The upper part is accessible by the Lucien-Lefrançois road. Forestry, in particular the exploitation of sugar factories, constitutes the main economic activity in this valley; agriculture (lower part) second. The surface of the Petit Pré river is generally frozen from the beginning of December until the end of March; however, safe traffic on the ice is generally from mid-December to mid-March. The water level of the river varies with the seasons and the precipitation; the spring flood occurs in March or April.

The Le Moyne River generally flows south, on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River, in the municipality of Château-Richer, in the La Côte-de-Beaupré Regional County Municipality in the administrative region of Capitale-Nationale, in the province of Quebec, in Canada. The lower part of this small valley is served by avenue Royale (route 360) and route 138 which runs along the north shore of St. Lawrence River. The Chemin de la Mine, the Montée des Hirondelles and the Montée des Chênes serve the intermediate part to the foot of the moraine. The upper part has mountainous relief and some secondary forest roads, including Chemin Beauséjour, are accessible. Forestry is the main economic activity in this valley; agriculture (lower part) second. The surface of the Le Moyne River is generally frozen from the beginning of December until the end of March; however, safe traffic on the ice is generally from mid-December to mid-March. The water level of the river varies with the seasons and the precipitation; the spring flood occurs in March or April.

The rivière du Moulin is a tributary of chenal de l'Île d'Orléans, flowing in the municipality of Saint-Pierre-de-l'Île-d'Orléans, in the L'Île-d'Orléans Regional County Municipality, in the administrative region of Capitale-Nationale, in the province of Quebec, in Canada. The lower part of this small valley is served by Chemin Royale (route 368) which bypasses all of Île d'Orléans. Besides the area near the main road, agriculture is the main economic activity in this small valley. The surface of the Moulin river is generally frozen from the beginning of December until the end of March, except the rapids areas; however, safe circulation on the ice is generally done from mid-December to mid-March. The water level of the river varies with the seasons and the precipitation; the spring flood occurs in March or April.

Aux Trois Couvents, formerly known as the Centre d'interprétation de la Côte-de-Beaupré (CICB), located in Château-Richer, is recognized as a museum of La Côte-de-Beaupré by the regional county municipality since 1996. It is also a part of the Route de la Nouvelle-France group, one of the oldest roads of Quebec.

This watercourse flows on the north shore of the Saint-Laurent river, in the municipality of Sainte-Brigitte-de-Laval, in the La Jacques-Cartier Regional County Municipality, in the administrative region of Capitale-Nationale, in the province of Quebec, in Canada. The lower part of this valley is served by avenue Sainte-Brigitte and by rue Auclair. The upper part is served by a secondary forest road. Forestry is the main economic activity in this valley; recreational tourism, second. Because of its altitude, the surface of the Richelieu River is generally frozen from the beginning of December until the end of March; however, safe circulation on the ice is generally done from mid-December to mid-March. The water level of the river varies with the seasons and the precipitation; the spring flood occurs in March or April.
