Praça da República (Portuguese: Square of the Republic) is a park and public square in the República neighborhood of São Paulo, Brazil. The park covers several city blocks between Rua Pedro Américo, Rua Vinte e Quatro de Maio, Avenida Ipiranga, and Avenida São João in the historic center of the city. Praça da República had many names before 1889, including Largo dos Curros, Largo da Palha, Praça das Milícias, Largo Sete de Abril, and Praça 15 de Novembro.On Sundays, there is an open-air market on the Praça da República with many food carts and vendors selling art, clothing, jewelry, and handicrafts. República is a metro station located in the República district, in the center zone of São Paulo. The stations connects the lines 3-Red, operated by Companhia do Metropolitano de São Paulo, and 4-Yellow, operated by ViaQuatro.

Galeria do Rock is a shopping mall located in the city of São Paulo. It was established in 1963, with the name of Shopping Center Grandes Galerias. Located between Rua 24 de Maio, 62 and Largo do Paissandu (Avenida São João), it has 450 shopping facilities, with predominance of rock, hip hop and other music-related stores, which sell records, apparel and tattoo studios. Galeria do Rock is also a musical performance venue, being a meeting place for urban tribes or subcultures in São Paulo. The place was a location for the Rede Globo telenovela Tempos Modernos and for the TV series Aline.

Largo do Arouche, also known as Flower Square (Portuguese: Praça das Flores) or Flower Market (Mercado das Flores), is located in the República district, in the central region of the city of São Paulo. It represents a center of diversity, as it has been occupied by LGBTQIAP+ social groups since the 1940s, an occupation that resisted the military dictatorship in the fight for the right to sexual and gender diversity. It houses several florists who set up shop after the existing stalls in República Square were removed by Mayor Armando de Arruda Pereira around 1914. During the 1900s, it housed the Arouche Free Fair, which was created during the crisis in the supply of fruit and vegetable products and closed in 1954. The current name refers to Lieutenant General José Arouche de Toledo Rendon, the first director of the Law School of the University of São Paulo and the Botanical Garden. It has been called Largo do Ouvidor, Largo da Artilharia and Alexandre Herculano Square. The place became nationally known after the sitcom Sai de Baixo, produced by TV Globo, was launched. The series, shown between 1996 and 2002, portrayed humorous situations that took place in a fictitious building located in Largo do Arouche.

Bar Brahma is a traditional bar located in the city center of São Paulo, Brazil. The bar was founded in 1948 by German immigrant Henrique Hillebrecht. The bar soon became a meeting place for important personalities from the academic and political circles of the city of São Paulo, such as former mayor Jânio Quadros, former governor Adhemar de Barros and professor and former president Fernando Henrique Cardoso, as well as being a stronghold for the artistic world of São Paulo, bringing together musicians such as Adoniran Barbosa, Orlando Silva, Ary Barroso, Vicente Celestino, among others. In the 1960s, the bar became a hub for political discussions led by students from the University of São Paulo’s Faculty of Law, while also serving as a meeting point for farmers from São Paulo's countryside. In the following decades, the bar followed the deterioration of part of São Paulo's downtown area, eventually closing its doors in the early 90s. It reopened in 1997 under the name “São João 677”, but closed down the following year, in December. In 2001, it was reopened with its original name. The bar is located in one of the most famous addresses in the center of São Paulo, on the corner of Ipiranga and São João avenues, a crossroads eternalized in the Brazilian song Sampa, by the bahian singer Caetano Veloso. In 2008, the bar welcomed an average of 700 customers daily. The bar has a regular schedule of live shows, featuring frequent performances. Important names in Brazilian music such as Cauby Peixoto, Angela Maria, Demônios da Garoa, Angela Ro Ro and Nana Caymmi have already performed there. Known for its musical appeal, in 2008 the band Conjunto Varanda Paulista recorded an album entitled Ao vivo no Bar Brahma (Live at the Brahma Bar), mixing elements of bossa nova and samba. In 2023, in the midst of a robbery and further deterioration in the central region of São Paulo, the bar was attacked with stones, causing physical insecurity for the bar's customers and workers. After the act, the bar demanded greater security from the mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes, and the governor, Tarcísio de Freitas, for greater security in the center of São Paulo. In response, Nunes promised to increase the number of police officers responsible for policing the center by 1,500.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of São Paulo (Portuguese: Igreja Evangélica Luterana de São Paulo), also known as Martin Luther Church, is one of the headquarters of the Southeast Synod of the Evangelical Church of Lutheran Confession in Brazil, located near the Largo do Paiçandu, in the historic center of São Paulo. The temple was founded on December 25, 1908, being one of the main meeting places of the German community in the first half of the twentieth century.Initially, it was called by the German name Stadtkirche, being later known as Mother Church and then, only in 1991, being baptized as Martin Luther Church. It is considered the first evangelical Lutheran parish in the city of São Paulo, as well as the first temple in the neo-Gothic style to be built in the city.

Edifício Itália (Portuguese for "Italy Building") (whose official name is Circolo Italiano) is a 165 m (541 ft) tall 46-story skyscraper located in the República district, Central Zone of São Paulo, Brazil. Built from 1956 to 1965, it has a rooftop observation deck, open for tourists.Edifício Itália was designed by Brazilian architect Franz Heep. It is the 3rd tallest building in Brazil (and the 2nd in São Paulo) after Millennium Palace and Mirante do Vale.

The Wilton Paes de Almeida Building (Portuguese: Edifício Wilton Paes de Almeida) was a high-rise building in Largo do Paissandú, São Paulo, Brazil, that was built in the 1960s. It was listed as a historic building in 1992. It was the headquarters of the Federal Police in São Paulo from the 1980s until 2003, after which it was occupied by squatters. It caught fire and collapsed on 1 May 2018, causing at least 7 fatalities.

The Church of Our Lady of the Rosary of Black Men (Portuguese: Igreja Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Homens Pretos) is located in Largo do Paiçandu, in the central zone of the Brazilian city of São Paulo. It was originally situated in Antônio Prado Square, where it was built by black workers at the beginning of the 18th century to serve as a meeting place for slaves who celebrated Catholic rites mixed with beliefs of Bantu origin. In 1903, as part of the urbanization process initiated by Mayor Antônio Prado, the old church was demolished and rebuilt where it stands today. The new temple was consecrated in 1906, when a large procession, accompanied by a band, carried the images from the old church.

Largo do Paiçandu (in archaic spelling, Largo do Payssandu and Largo do Paissandu) is an area of the República district, in the central area of the city of São Paulo, Brazil. It was named in 1865 after the Siege of Paysandu. Currently, it It is located within a quadrilateral formed by São João, Conselheiro Crispiniano, Rio Branco and Dom José de Barros streets. At the end of the 19th century, it was an important circus zone in the city.

Escola da Cidade (lit. City School) is a private, not-for-profit institution of higher learning in São Paulo, Brazil. Established in 2001, it offers bachelor's degree and postgraduate programs in architecture and urban planning, as well as non-degree courses in architecture, urbanism, design, and related disciplines. Since March 2020, the School has also operated Fábrica • Escola de Humanidades João Filgueiras Lima (FAEH), a private secondary and vocational school with a focus on the humanities and maker culture.The School has no formal rector or dean system; it is operated by Associação Escola da Cidade, a nonprofit association of architects, fine artists, and public intellectuals, and managed by five boards. Noted faculty members include Marcio Kogan and Paulo von Poser. The campus is entirely urban and occupies two buildings in the Vila Buarque neighborhood of central São Paulo, originally designed in the 1940s as apartment blocks by Oswaldo Bratke.In addition to a regular library open to the general public (Biblioteca Vilanova Artigas) and a university press (Editora da Cidade), the School also operates Baú, a "student-run... audiovisual repository of all knowledge produced at Escola da Cidade". The Monument to the Duke of Caxias (Portuguese: Monumento a Duque de Caxias) is a platinum bronze statue on a granite pedestal depicting the battles of the Duke of Caxias. Located in the city of São Paulo, the monument is 48 meters high and is the second largest equestrian memorial in the world.
