Ljubljanska Avenue is one of the most travelled thoroughfares in Zagreb, Croatia. It is a four-lane divided avenue that runs from the Savska Opatovina rotary (located in the western part of the Trešnjevka - sjever district) in the east to the Jankomir interchange with the Zagreb bypass in the west. The road uses the recently upgraded Jankomir bridge over the Sava river and it is fully grade-separated. The Ljubljanska used to start further east, at the intersection with the Savska Road in the outer city center, but the recently renovated part between Savska Road and Savska Opatovina was renamed to Zagrebačka Avenue.

Before the advent of the shopping centers Jankomir was mostly known for the nearby Jankomir interchange, a major interchange of the Zagreb bypass and Ljubljanska Avenue. Jankomir is also home to a psychiatric hospital of the same name.

Špansko is a neighbourhood in the western part of Zagreb. It has about 24,000 inhabitants. It belongs to Stenjevec district. Špansko is divided into two parts (two independent local councils) – Špansko-sjever (Špansko North) and Špansko-jug (Špansko South) – by Antun Šoljan Street. King Cross Jankomir is a shopping centre located in Zagreb, Croatia, on Velimir Škorpik Street 34 in the neighbourhood of Jankomir. It was financed by Coimpredil and Coop Consumatori Nordest and opened on 21 September 2002. The shopping centre has a gross area of 110,000 m2 (1,200,000 sq ft), 43,000 m2 (460,000 sq ft) of which is covered, and 29,000 m2 (310,000 sq ft) of retail space. At the time of its opening, it was the largest shopping centre in Croatia. The shopping centre cost €67 million to build, and its investors partly funded the upgrade of the adjoining road infrastructure.The shopping centre suffered a 20% loss in revenue and was rumoured to be the first centre in the city to close (and possibly be converted into a warehouse) due to the late 2000s recession. Nevertheless, it remained in business.

On 20 December 2024, a mass stabbing occurred at Prečko Elementary School in Zagreb, Croatia. The attacker, identified as a 19-year-old male, stabbed seven individuals, resulting in the death of a 7-year-old student. Six others, five students and a teacher, also sustained injuries.

Vrbani is a neighborhood in Trešnjevka - jug city district in the southwestern part of Zagreb, Croatia. The area covered by the local city council Vrbani has around 10,093 inhabitants.The borders of Vrbani are Horvaćanska Street on the south with Jarun, Hrvatski Sokol Street with Staglišće on the east, Zagrebačka Avenue with Rudeš on the north and Petrovaradinska Street on the west with Prečko. Vrbani, in the wider sense, also includes the newly built buildings between lake Jarun and Horvaćanska Street.

Trešnjevka – jug (Croatian pronunciation: [trêʃɲeːʋka jûg], "Trešnjevka – south") is a district of Zagreb, Croatia. It is in the western part of the city and has 66,674 inhabitants (2011 census).The district encompasses the southern (Croatian: jug) part of the traditional Trešnjevka neighbourhood, separated from the northern part (Croatian: sjever) by the Zagrebačka Avenue.

The Jankomir interchange (Croatian: Čvor Jankomir) is a cloverleaf interchange west of Zagreb, Croatia. It is named after nearby Zagreb neighborhood of Jankomir. The interchange represents the southern terminus of the A2 motorway and it connects the A2 route to the A3 motorway representing major a link in the Croatian motorway system. The interchange is a part of Pan-European corridors X and Xa. It also represents a junction of European routes E59 and E70.Construction of the interchange marked start of construction of the A3 motorway in its present form. In 1979, it became a part of the first six-lane (including emergency lanes) section, constructed as a part of the Zagreb bypass—5.85-kilometre (3.64 mi) section connecting the Jankomir and Lučko interchanges. At the time of construction, the interchange connected the new Zagreb bypass to former Brotherhood and Unity Highway which linked Zagreb to Slovenian border and a two-lane road to Krapina. The former was subsequently upgraded to become a part of the A3 motorway (west of the interchange) and Ž1035—four-lane connector to Zagreb, while the latter was upgraded and became the A2 motorway.
