On 20 December 2024, a mass stabbing occurred at Prečko Elementary School in Zagreb, Croatia. The attacker, identified as a 19-year-old male, stabbed seven individuals, resulting in the death of a 7-year-old student. Six others, five students and a teacher, also sustained injuries.

Trešnjevka – jug (Croatian pronunciation: [trêʃɲeːʋka jûg], "Trešnjevka – south") is a district of Zagreb, Croatia. It is in the western part of the city and has 66,674 inhabitants (2011 census).The district encompasses the southern (Croatian: jug) part of the traditional Trešnjevka neighbourhood, separated from the northern part (Croatian: sjever) by the Zagrebačka Avenue.

Jankomir (Croatian pronunciation: [ˈjɑŋkomiːr]) is a neighborhood in Zagreb, Croatia. It is located in the Stenjevec city district in the western part of the city, and is officially referred to as "Stenjevec - jug", with an area of 824.34 ha (2,037.0 acres) and a population of 8,072.Jankomir is regarded citywide as a shopping destination since it houses several shopping centers. Its main arterial roads are Velimir Škorpik Road, Ljubljanska Avenue and Zagrebačka Avenue. Before the advent of the shopping centers Jankomir was mostly known for the nearby Jankomir interchange, a major interchange of the Zagreb bypass and Ljubljanska Avenue. Jankomir is also home to a psychiatric hospital of the same name.

Jarun Bridge (Croatian: Jarunski most) is a planned bridge that will cross the Sava River in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. The bridge will be located in the western part of the city, Trešnjevka near Lake Jarun. The city of Zagreb organized a tender for the design of the Jarun Bridge in 2006, and accepted the project in 2007. Building permits were issued in 2011, but the construction, originally estimated to cost around €40 million, did not start due to a lack of funds. As of 2013, the city was considering a pedestrian-and-cycle design as a cheaper alternative. In early 2020, the process of acquiring the building permits was reinitiated.

Podsused – Vrapče is one of the districts of Zagreb, Croatia. It is located in the north-western part of the city. In 2011, the district had 45,759 inhabitants. Its area is 36.188 km2.

King Cross Jankomir is a shopping centre located in Zagreb, Croatia, on Velimir Škorpik Street 34 in the neighbourhood of Jankomir. It was financed by Coimpredil and Coop Consumatori Nordest and opened on 21 September 2002. The shopping centre has a gross area of 110,000 m2 (1,200,000 sq ft), 43,000 m2 (460,000 sq ft) of which is covered, and 29,000 m2 (310,000 sq ft) of retail space. At the time of its opening, it was the largest shopping centre in Croatia. The shopping centre cost €67 million to build, and its investors partly funded the upgrade of the adjoining road infrastructure.The shopping centre suffered a 20% loss in revenue and was rumoured to be the first centre in the city to close (and possibly be converted into a warehouse) due to the late 2000s recession. Nevertheless, it remained in business.

Susedgrad Castle (Hungarian: Szomszédvár), or earlier also only Sused, is a ruined medieval fortress on the far-western hill of mount Medvednica, while also marking the far-western part of modern-day Zagreb, Croatia.
