Miranova proga A is a women's World Cup technical ski course in Slovenia, on Pohorje mountain in Radvanje District, Maribor hostin Golden Fox (Zlata lisica) competition since 1978.Part of Mariborsko Pohorje Ski Resort, the largest ski course in Slovenia, the slope is divided on upper part (GS start – Trikotna jasa) and lower part (SL start – Snow stadium finish). Not counting ski slopes in Scandinavia with very cold winters, this is the course with lowest finish elevation on the World Cup circuit, at 325 metres (1,066 ft) above sea level.

Pekre (pronounced [ˈpeːkɾɛ]) is a settlement southwest of Maribor in northeastern Slovenia. It belongs to the City Municipality of Maribor.The local landmark is the church on top of a small hill to the east of the main settlement. It is dedicated to Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows and was built as a pilgrimage church between 1832 and 1835. There are also four small chapel-shrines along the road leading up to the church.The first military clash between the Yugoslav People's Army and the Slovenian Territorial Defence in Slovenia's war of independence happened in Pekre on 23 May 1991.

The Radvanje District (pronounced [ˈɾaːdʋanjɛ]; Slovene: Mestna četrt Radvanje) is a city district of the City Municipality of Maribor in northeastern Slovenia. The district has a population of about 8,000.

The Nova Vas District (pronounced [ˈnɔːʋa ˈʋaːs]; Slovene: Mestna četrt Nova vas, literally meaning New Village District) is a city district of the City Municipality of Maribor in northeastern Slovenia. In 2012, the district had a population of 10,391. It is the smallest district of the municipality, but one of the biggest by population. It is almost fully covered by apartment blocks, built in the 1980s. The highest building is 16 stories high. The district is split into several smaller districts and neighborhoods. The district includes the Adolf Drolc Clinic and the Maribor Police Station No. 2. Two schools are located in the Nova Vas District, one in Nova Vas 2 (Maribor Leon Štukelj Elementary School) and another in Nova Vas 1 (Tabor Elementary School No. 1).

Radio Slovenia International (RSi) is the international service of Slovenian state radio on FM, Internet and via satellite. RSi is one of the 3 foreign-language radio stations in Slovenia (the other two is the Hungarian-only Muravidéki Magyar Rádió, and Italian-only Radio Capodistria). Its broadcasts are in Slovene, German and English. RSi offers a mixture of musical and informative programmes 24 hours a day. 85% of the programme time is devoted to international and Slovene hits, and the remaining 15% is intended for political, business and economic, cultural, and sports information. The central programme elements are weather, traffic, cultural and sports information, as well as information on events taking place in Slovenia.

The Studenci District (pronounced [stuˈdɛːntsi]; Slovene: Mestna četrt Studenci) is a city district of the City Municipality of Maribor in northeastern Slovenia. Notable landmarks include the Carinthian Bridge, which crosses the Drava River.

The Pohorje Transmitter (also known as Maribor 1) is a facility for radio and TV-broadcasting in the Pohorje Mountains west of Maribor, northeastern Slovenia, 1,056 metres (3,465 ft) above sea level. It uses a 72 m (236 ft) tall lattice tower. Although this tower is designed as free-standing, it is guyed at two levels in six directions. This extensive additional guying is unusual, especially considering that the tower is not very tall and that it is situated in a forest area.

Limbuš (pronounced [ˈliːmbuʃ], German: Lembach) is a settlement on the right bank of the Drava River west of Maribor in northeastern Slovenia. It belongs to the City Municipality of Maribor.The local parish church is dedicated to Saint James and belongs to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Maribor. It has a Gothic nave dating to the 15th century, a 16th-century belfry, 17th-century chapels, and a sanctuary with 17th- and 18th-century internal furnishings. There is a walled cemetery around the church.Limbuš Rado Robič Primary School (Slovene: Osnovna Šola Rada Robiča Limbuš) is named after Radivoj Robič (1919–1944), a Partisan machine-gunner. There is a pharmacy in Limbuš.

General Maister Barracks (Slovene: Vojašnica generala Maistra) is a barracks of the Slovenian Armed Forces in Maribor, named after general Rudolf Maister. It is the location of one of two Slovenian infantry brigades, the 72nd Brigade, and its subordinate units.

Podravina (in Croatian) or Podravje (in Slovenian) are Slavic names for the Drava river basin in Croatia and Slovenia.

The Maribor Island (Slovene: Mariborski otok) is the name of a natural island on the Drava river near the town of Maribor, in the region of Lower Styria (Spodnja Štajerska) of the European country of Slovenia. In 1951 it was protected as a natural heritage, and today it has the condition of natural geomorphological and botanical monument. At the same time it is an important habitat for animal species, especially birds. Access to the island is possible thanks to a picturesque path that leads along the left bank of the Drava past the bay of Koblarjev. The formation of the island was due to natural circumstances such as the rapids on the Drava River, where the hydroelectric dam near Maribor Island. There are typical forest species such as birds, especially in winter, it becomes a refuge for waterfowl. Registered, there are 75 species, of which 31 species nest.
