Pekre (pronounced [ˈpeːkɾɛ]) is a settlement southwest of Maribor in northeastern Slovenia. It belongs to the City Municipality of Maribor.The local landmark is the church on top of a small hill to the east of the main settlement. It is dedicated to Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows and was built as a pilgrimage church between 1832 and 1835. There are also four small chapel-shrines along the road leading up to the church.The first military clash between the Yugoslav People's Army and the Slovenian Territorial Defence in Slovenia's war of independence happened in Pekre on 23 May 1991.

Vrhov Dol (pronounced [ˈʋəɾxɔu̯ ˈdoːl]) is a settlement in the foothills of the Pohorje range southwest of Maribor in northeastern Slovenia. It belongs to the City Municipality of Maribor.

Bistrica ob Dravi (pronounced [ˈbiːstɾitsa ɔb ˈdɾaːʋi]) is a settlement on the right bank of the Drava River in the Municipality of Ruše in northeastern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. The municipality is now included in the Drava Statistical Region.

Maribor Pohorje Ski Resort (Slovene: Smučišče Mariborsko Pohorje) is the largest ski resort in Slovenia, located just south of Maribor, at the mountain range of Pohorje in Lower Styria. The resort consists of three sections: lower section "Snow Stadium," middle section "Bolfenk" and an upper section called "Areh". The resort as a whole offers 42 km (26 miles) of north-facing ski slopes, 27 km (17 mi) of cross-country skiing, and 10 km (6 mi) of night skiing. It is best known for its "Golden Fox" competition, women's World Cup races in giant slalom and slalom, held since 1964.

Srednje (pronounced [ˈsɾeːdnjɛ], German: Mittelberg) is a settlement in the hills above the left bank of the Drava River west of Maribor in northeastern Slovenia. It belongs to the City Municipality of Maribor.There is a small chapel-shrine with a belfry on a hill to the north of the main settlement. It was built in 1922.

The Maribor Island (Slovene: Mariborski otok) is the name of a natural island on the Drava river near the town of Maribor, in the region of Lower Styria (Spodnja Štajerska) of the European country of Slovenia. In 1951 it was protected as a natural heritage, and today it has the condition of natural geomorphological and botanical monument. At the same time it is an important habitat for animal species, especially birds. Access to the island is possible thanks to a picturesque path that leads along the left bank of the Drava past the bay of Koblarjev. The formation of the island was due to natural circumstances such as the rapids on the Drava River, where the hydroelectric dam near Maribor Island. There are typical forest species such as birds, especially in winter, it becomes a refuge for waterfowl. Registered, there are 75 species, of which 31 species nest.

Miranova proga A is a women's World Cup technical ski course in Slovenia, on Pohorje mountain in Radvanje District, Maribor hostin Golden Fox (Zlata lisica) competition since 1978.Part of Mariborsko Pohorje Ski Resort, the largest ski course in Slovenia, the slope is divided on upper part (GS start – Trikotna jasa) and lower part (SL start – Snow stadium finish). Not counting ski slopes in Scandinavia with very cold winters, this is the course with lowest finish elevation on the World Cup circuit, at 325 metres (1,066 ft) above sea level.
