The Riverton Elementary School, at 12830 S. Redwood Rd. in Riverton, Utah, was built during 1925-30 and is the oldest public school building surviving in Riverton. According to its NRHP nomination in 1996, it is significant historically as representing "the adaptation of schools to meet the needs associated with providing appropriately sized and wholesomely designed spaces in which children could be taught," and for its long service in the community of Riverton.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.It now houses the Riverton City Office.

The Garside-McMullin House, at 10481 S. 1300 West in South Jordan, Utah, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.It is a Queen Anne style house built in 1898. It was deemed significant for its architecture and for its association with two families, the Garsides and the McMullins.It was used for city offices of South Jordan in the 1960s. The street address given at the property now is 10500, and signage calls it the McMullin House.

Bingham High School is a public high school located in South Jordan, Utah, United States. It is one of eight high schools in the Jordan School District. It was established in 1908, and is one of the oldest schools in the state. Teacher/pupil ratios are budgeted at 1 to 27.3, with actual class sizes varying. The school's name and mascot are derived from its proximity to the Bingham Copper Mine. The original school was built in Copperton, Utah and was demolished in 2002. South Jordan is a city in south central Salt Lake County, Utah, United States, 18 miles (29 km) south of Salt Lake City. Part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area, the city lies in the Salt Lake Valley along the banks of the Jordan River between the 10,000-foot (3,000 m) Oquirrh Mountains and the 11,000-foot (3,400 m) Wasatch Mountains. The city has 3.5 miles (5.6 km) of the Jordan River Parkway that contains fishing ponds, trails, parks, and natural habitats. The Salt Lake County fair grounds and equestrian park, 67-acre (27 ha) Oquirrh Lake, and 37 public parks are located inside the city. As of 2020, there were 77,487 people in South Jordan. Founded in 1859 by Mormon settlers and historically an agrarian town, South Jordan has become a rapidly growing bedroom community of Salt Lake City. Kennecott Land, a land development company, has recently begun construction on the master-planned Daybreak Community for the entire western half of South Jordan, potentially doubling South Jordan's population. South Jordan was the first municipality in the world to have two temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Jordan River Utah Temple and Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple), it now shares that distinction with Provo, Utah. The city has two TRAX light rail stops, as well as one commuter rail stop on the FrontRunner.

Willow Creek is a tributary stream of the Jordan River, in Salt Lake County, Utah. Its mouth is at its confluence with the Jordan River, west of Draper at an elevation of 4,318 feet (1,316 m). Its source is located at an elevation of 4,980 feet (1,520 m) at 40°32′47″N 111°48′42″W, the confluence of Big Willow Creek and Rocky Mouth Canyon that flow down the west slope of 11,253-foot (3,430 m) Lone Peak in the Wasatch Range.

The Samuel and Geneva Holt Farmstead, located at 10317 South 1300 West in South Jordan, Utah, United States, was built during 1907-09 and received later additions. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.The farmstead, including outbuildings built in 1907 and since, was deemed significant in 2001 as one of only a "handful" of surviving historic farmsteads in South Jordan, and notably had been worked by the farm's residents and remained in the same family. The house was also important as exemplifying Victorian Eclectic architecture, whose application in a rural area helped in "denoting the end of Utah's isolation from the nation in the late nineteenth century.": 9 

The Jordan River Utah Temple (formerly the Jordan River Temple) is the 20th operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Located in South Jordan, Utah, it was built with a modern single-spire design. A site dedication and groundbreaking ceremony were held on June 9, 1979. The ceremony and dedication were presided over by church president Spencer W. Kimball. Instead of the usual small ceremonial shovel-full of dirt at the groundbreaking, Kimball used a large power scoop shovel to begin the building process. The temple was open to the public for tours September 29 through October 31, 1981. Over half a million people toured the temple during its open house. On August 7, 2015, the church announced that beginning February 15, 2016, the temple would close for renovations that were anticipated to be completed during the latter part of 2017. A public open house was held from March 17 through April 28, 2018, excluding Sundays and two Saturdays associated with the church's general conference. The temple was rededicated by Henry B. Eyring on May 20, 2018.
