Riverton High School (Utah)

Riverton is a city in Salt Lake County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Salt Lake City, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 45,285 as of the 2020 census. Riverton is located in the rapidly growing southwestern corner of the Salt Lake Valley.

Salt Lake Lutheran High School was a Lutheran school founded in 1984 and located until 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. In 2011 the school moved to Riverton, Utah, and took the name Concordia Preparatory School. It closed in 2013.

The Riverton Elementary School, at 12830 S. Redwood Rd. in Riverton, Utah, was built during 1925-30 and is the oldest public school building surviving in Riverton. According to its NRHP nomination in 1996, it is significant historically as representing "the adaptation of schools to meet the needs associated with providing appropriately sized and wholesomely designed spaces in which children could be taught," and for its long service in the community of Riverton.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.It now houses the Riverton City Office.

South Jordan is a city in south central Salt Lake County, Utah, United States, 18 miles (29 km) south of Salt Lake City. Part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area, the city lies in the Salt Lake Valley along the banks of the Jordan River between the 10,000-foot (3,000 m) Oquirrh Mountains and the 11,000-foot (3,400 m) Wasatch Mountains. The city has 3.5 miles (5.6 km) of the Jordan River Parkway that contains fishing ponds, trails, parks, and natural habitats. The Salt Lake County fair grounds and equestrian park, 67-acre (27 ha) Oquirrh Lake, and 37 public parks are located inside the city. As of 2020, there were 77,487 people in South Jordan. Founded in 1859 by Mormon settlers and historically an agrarian town, South Jordan has become a rapidly growing bedroom community of Salt Lake City. Kennecott Land, a land development company, has recently begun construction on the master-planned Daybreak Community for the entire western half of South Jordan, potentially doubling South Jordan's population. South Jordan was the first municipality in the world to have two temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Jordan River Utah Temple and Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple), it now shares that distinction with Provo, Utah. The city has two TRAX light rail stops, as well as one commuter rail stop on the FrontRunner.

The Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple is a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located in South Jordan, Utah, a suburb of Salt Lake City. South Jordan was the first city in the world to have two temples (it also has the Jordan River Temple). The temple was the fourth in the Salt Lake Valley and the 13th in the state of Utah. The Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple serves approximately 83,000 Latter-day Saints living in the western Salt Lake Valley. The building is faced with light beige granite quarried and milled in China.

Bingham High School is a public high school located in South Jordan, Utah, United States. It is one of eight high schools in the Jordan School District. It was established in 1908, and is one of the oldest schools in the state. Teacher/pupil ratios are budgeted at 1 to 27.3, with actual class sizes varying. The school's name and mascot are derived from its proximity to the Bingham Copper Mine. The original school was built in Copperton, Utah and was demolished in 2002. Daybreak is a master-planned community over 4,000 acres (16 km²) in size that began construction in 2004 under the direction of land development company Kennecott Land (a subsidiary of Rio Tinto Group) in South Jordan, Utah. In 2016, the balance of the land holding was sold to Minneapolis-based investment firm Värde Partners, and a new development company called Daybreak Communities was formed to continue development of the project. On April 12, 2021, is was announced that the remaining 1,300 undeveloped acres were sold to Larry H. Miller Real Estate. The community is expected to continue building for the next 18 to 20 years. When completed, it could contain more than 20,000 residential units and approximately 9.1 million square feet (850,000 m²) of commercial space.

Zions Bank Stadium is a soccer-specific stadium in Herriman, Utah, United States, with a seating capacity of 5,000. The stadium is home to Real Monarchs, a MLS Next Pro team affiliated with Real Salt Lake of Major League Soccer, and the Utah Warriors, a Major League Rugby team. The stadium is part of the $78 million Zions Bank Real Academy, which includes the academy and training facilities for Real Salt Lake, and is near the Mountain View Corridor. It was originally scheduled to open on March 31, 2018, but moved back to April after construction delays. In May 2017, Real Salt Lake and Zions Bank announced a sponsorship deal that would give the bank naming rights to the stadium.

The Garside-McMullin House, at 10481 S. 1300 West in South Jordan, Utah, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.It is a Queen Anne style house built in 1898. It was deemed significant for its architecture and for its association with two families, the Garsides and the McMullins.It was used for city offices of South Jordan in the 1960s. The street address given at the property now is 10500, and signage calls it the McMullin House.

Mountain Ridge High School is a public high school in Herriman, Utah. It serves students in grades 10-12 for the Jordan School District.
