Lévis (French pronunciation: [levi] (listen)) is a city in eastern Quebec, Canada, located on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, opposite Quebec City. A ferry links Old Quebec with Old Lévis, and two bridges, the Quebec and the Pierre-Laporte, connect western Lévis with Quebec City. The population in July 2017 was 144,147. Its current incarnation was founded on January 1, 2002, as the result of a merger among ten cities, including the older city of Lévis founded in 1861. Lévis is also the name of a territory equivalent to a regional county municipality (TE) and census division (CD) of Quebec, coextensive with the city of Lévis. Its geographical code is 25 as a census division, and 251 as an RCM-equivalent territory.

Lévis station (also known as Gare fluviale de Lévis and as Gare de l'Intercolonial) is a ferry terminal and former railway station in Lévis, Quebec, Canada at 5995, rue Saint-Laurent. It is also served by city buses operated by the Société de transport de Lévis. The Société des traversiers du Québec operates ferry service between this terminal and downtown Quebec City.The station was built in 1864 as a meeting room for Lévis' city council. In 1884, it was purchased the Intercolonial Railway for use as a station, and was later used by Canadian National and Via Rail trains until CN abandoned its railway line in downtown Lévis. The final Via Rail from the station operated October 24, 1998. Today, the building serves as a ferry terminal, and also houses a bicycle rental facility and tourist information centre.The former railway right-of-way is now a bicycle trail.

It was created on January 1, 2002.It has three districts, corresponding to former municipalities: Lévis (the territory of the pre-2002 city) Pintendre Saint-Joseph-de-la-Pointe-De LévyThe pre-2002 city of Lévis had already annexed the former municipalities of Lauzon and Saint-David-de-l'Auberivière in 1989.

CJMD-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting a French-language community radio format on the frequency 96.9 FM in Lévis, Quebec. Owned by Radio communautaire de Lévis, the station received CRTC approval on September 4, 2009.The station is a member of the Association des radiodiffuseurs communautaires du Québec.

Les Galeries Chagnon is an enclosed regional shopping mall in Lévis, Quebec, Canada. It opened in 1974. It has 106 stores and its floor area is 526,734 square feet (48,935.2 m2).After its opening in 1974, it was expanded in 1985 and renovated in 2000 and 2006. In 2008, the Westcliff Group purchased the property from Cadillac Fairview.According to a 2006 study, the mall was one of six regional or larger malls in the Quebec metropolitan area, but the only one located south of the Saint Lawrence River. In 2012, the mall had 4.8 million visitors.

Cap Diamant (English: Cape Diamond) is a cape on an edge of the Promontory of Quebec and on which Quebec City is located, formed by the confluence of a bend in the St. Lawrence River to the south and east, and the much smaller Saint-Charles River to the north. Jacques Cartier, the French explorer who found glittering stones in the high cliff, thought the stones contained diamonds. After he brought samples of these stones to France in 1542, experts concluded that these "diamonds" were actually quartz, hence the proverb "Faux comme un diamant du Canada" ("as fake (or as false) as a Canadian diamond").In 1759, the troops of British General James Wolfe climbed Cap Diamant toward the Plains of Abraham to conquer Quebec. In 1889 the Quebec rockslide fell from Cap Diamant.

The Quebec rockslide occurred on September 19, 1889, after a day of heavy rain in Quebec City, Canada. An overhanging piece of slate rock broke off from Cap Diamant and fell 90 metres (300 feet) onto the houses below. The homes of 28 families on Champlain Street were crushed, burying roughly 100 people under 24 metres (80 feet) of broken slate rock. The final death toll exceeded 40 people.

Maritime Rescue Sub-Centre Quebec (MRSC Quebec) is a Canadian Maritime Rescue Sub-Centre that coordinates search and rescue operations in the following waters: the St. Lawrence River within the province of Quebec the northern and western waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence within the province of Quebec the navigable estuary portion of the Saguenay River the Richelieu River within the province of Quebec the southern portion of the Ottawa River downstream from the Carillon Generating Station Operated by the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG), MRSC Quebec has an area of responsibility that straddles the search and rescue regions (SRR) of Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Halifax (JRCC Halifax) in the east and Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton (JRCC Trenton) in the west. In Canada, MRSCs are established to enhance maritime SAR co-ordination through improved communications and local knowledge. MRSCs thus speed up the initiation of appropriate action, and allow a timely response to SAR incidents within their Search and Rescue Sub-Region (SRS). MRSC Québec is also the sole bilingual Search and Rescue Centre in Canada and one of the two Rescue centres in North America using French language as the main working language (Fort-de-France, in Martinique being the second one). MRSC Québec is responsible for tasking appropriate maritime SAR resources in order to resolve an incident. This is most often the dedicated SAR vessels of the Canadian Coast Guard, however, they may also initiate a request for other resources like volunteers from the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Air Force primary or secondary SAR aircraft, Royal Canadian Navy warships, Sûreté du Québec small craft, and municipal police small craft as required. Any SAR operation in response to an aircraft incident remains the responsibility of JRCC Halifax or JRCC Trenton and MRSC Québec may assist the JRCC in tasking and coordinating any maritime resources and provide local expertise and assistance to the JRCC. MRSC Quebec has operated out of Canadian Coast Guard Base Quebec (CCG Base Quebec) since 1977 and handles an average of 1500 incidents each year.

Lévis is a provincial electoral district in the Chaudière-Appalaches region of Quebec, Canada. It includes all of the city of Lévis north of Autoroute 20 and east of the Chaudière River. This includes downtown Lévis, Lauzon, Saint-David-de-l'Auberivière and Saint-Romuald. It was created for the 1867 election (and an electoral district of that name existed earlier in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada).

Marie-Josephte Corriveau (1733 at Saint-Vallier, Quebec – (1763-04-18)April 18, 1763 at Quebec City), better known as "la Corriveau", is a well-known figure in Québécois folklore. She lived in New France, and was sentenced to death by a British court martial for the murder of her second husband, was hanged for it and her body hanged in chains. Her story has become a legend in Quebec, and she is the subject of many books and plays.

Habitation de Québec was an ensemble of buildings interconnected by Samuel de Champlain when he founded Québec during 1608. The site is located in what is now Vieux-Québec. It was located near the site of the abandoned First Nations village of Stadacona that Jacques Cartier had visited during 1535. It served as a fort and as dwellings for the new colony in New France.
