Lydden Hill Race Circuit

Royal Air Force Swingfield or more simply RAF Swingfield is a former Royal Air Force Advanced Landing Ground located 5.5 miles (8.9 km) north west of Dover, Kent and 4.5 miles (7.2 km) south of Aylesham, Kent. The airfield was operational between February 1917 and 28 April 1945.

The south of the parish is 6 miles (10 km) north-west from the channel port of Dover, and the north, 7 miles (11 km) south-east from Canterbury. The A260 Barham to Folkestone road runs through the parish, and a 1 mile (1.6 km) section of the major A2 London to Dover road is part of the parish at the east. Parishes surrounding Denton with Wootton are Barham at the north; Shepherdswell with Coldred at the north-east; Lydden at the south-east; Swingfield at the south; Acrise at the south-west; and Elham at the west. The Lydden Hill Race Circuit is within the eastern border of Denton with Wootton. There are two parish churches: St Martin's in Wootton, and St Mary Magdalene's in Denton. Historically Denton and Wootton contained two manors each: Denton and Tappington at Denton; Wootton and Wickham Bushes at Wootton.

Swingfield Preceptory (or St John's Commandery, Swingfield) was a priory about 5 miles north of Folkestone, Kent on the south coast of England.

Woolage Village is a former mining village situated midway between Canterbury and Dover in the English county of Kent. It is 1 mile (1.6 km) to the east of the A2 road. Together with Womenswold and Woolage Green, it forms Womenswold parish. It consists of approximately 52 semi-detached houses built in 1912, to house miners and their families working at the nearby Snowdown Colliery. The village shop and post office was shut in the 1990s and converted to a dwelling.

Broome Park is a country house in Barham, within the City of Canterbury, Kent, England. It was built for Basil Dixwell between 1635 and 1638. In the early 20th century it was the country home of Lord Kitchener of Khartoum until his death at sea in 1916. Now a country club, Broome Park is a Grade I listed building.

Denton is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Denton with Wootton, in the Dover district of Kent, England. In 1961 the parish had a population of 137. On 1 April 1961 the parish was abolished and merged with Wootton to form "Denton with Wootton". The village is 7 miles (11 km) northwest from the channel port of Dover, and 30 miles (48 km) east-southeast from the county town of Maidstone. The A260 Barham to Folkestone road runs through the village, and the major A2 London to Dover road is 1 mile (1.6 km) to the east. Wootton, the other parish village, is 1 mile to the southeast. To the southwest of the village is the Grade II* listed Jacobean timber framed Tappington (or Tappington-Everard) Hall which dates to the 16th century. The house is where the cleric Richard Barham (1788–1845), under the pen name Thomas Ingoldsby, wrote The Ingoldsby Legends. Field Marshal Lord Kitchener was created Baron Denton, of Denton in the County of Kent, on 27 July 1914.

Shepherds Well railway station is on the Dover branch of the Chatham Main Line in England, and serves the village of Shepherdswell, Kent. It is 71 miles 60 chains (115.5 km) down the line from London Victoria and is situated between Snowdown and Kearsney. The station and all trains that serve the station are operated by Southeastern. It appears in the timetable and online enquiry systems as "Shepherds Well" but the platform signs read "Shepherdswell". It is adjacent to the terminus of the East Kent heritage line, which is spelt as one word: Shepherdswell. The booking office in the station building on the country-bound platform is open only for very limited hours on Mondays to Fridays mornings but a Permit To Travel ticket machine (also on the country-bound platform) caters for out-of-hours ticketing. The station and the line it serves were built by the London, Chatham & Dover Railway.

St Peter's Church is a redundant Anglican church in the village of Swingfield, some 3 miles (5 km) northeast of Hawkinge, Kent, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.

Swingfield is a village and civil parish in the district of Folkestone and Hythe in Kent, England. The parish includes the settlements of Densole on the A260 towards Hawkinge, and Selsted. The village is located approximately 5 miles north of Folkestone on the North Downs. Notable buildings include St Peter's Church and Swingfield Preceptory.

Shepherdswell railway station is a station on the East Kent Railway. The southern terminus of the East Kent Light Railway, It opened on 16 October 1916 and closed to passenger traffic after the last train on 30 October 1948. Shepherdswell was the location of the engine shed and works, and many sidings. It served the village of Shepherdswell or Sibertswold. The station reopened as part of the East Kent Railway in 1993. It is about 300 metres (980 ft) from the mainline station Shepherds Well.
