Bełsznica [bɛu̯ʂˈnit͡sa] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Gorzyce, within Wodzisław County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland, close to the Czech border.

It is close to where the A1 motorway crosses the border into the Czech Republic to/from Poland The gmina covers an area of 64.47 square kilometres (24.9 sq mi), and as of 2019 its total population is 21,285.

It lies approximately 3 kilometres (2 mi) north of Gorzyce, 4 km (2 mi) south-west of Wodzisław Śląski, and 52 km (32 mi) south-west of the regional capital Katowice. The town fell to Nazi occupation during the 1940s as a result many children were forced to learn German at school and everyone was not permitted to speak polish, however following the defeat of Nazi forces, the troops retreated back to Germany and the people were freed.

Uchylsko [uˈxɨlskɔ] is a village in Gmina Gorzyce, Wodzisław County, Silesian Voivodeship, Poland, near the border with the Czech Republic. It was first mentioned in a written document in 1229. It lies approximately 2 kilometres (1 mi) south-west of Gorzyce, 8 km (5 mi) south-west of Wodzisław Śląski, and 56 km (35 mi) south-west of the regional capital Katowice. The village was first mentioned in the document of Pope Gregory IX issued on 26 May 1229 among villages belonging to Benedictine abbey in Tyniec, as Uchilsko. Benedictine abbey in Orlová (established in 1268) in the late 13th century had rights to revenues from three villages in the Castellany of Racibórz, namely Gorzyce, Uchylsko and Gołkowice.

It is situated on the border with the Czech Republic, 10 kilometers south from the county seat Wodzisław Śląski. The A1 motorway, which runs from the port city of Gdańsk in the north, ends on the border in Gorzyczki, where it is connected to the Czech D1 motorway.

It lies approximately 2 kilometres (1 mi) north-east of Gorzyce, 5 km (3 mi) south-west of Wodzisław Śląski, and 52 km (32 mi) south-west of the regional capital Katowice. It was founded in 1911 as a coal mining settlement. Construction of the Friedrich - Schacht coal mine had begun in 1913 and it began operating for war purposes in 1916. It was closed in 1923.

The (Czech: Olše, German: Olsa) is a river in Poland and the Czech Republic, a right (eastern) tributary of the River Oder. It flows from the Silesian Beskids mountains through southern Cieszyn Silesia in Poland and the Frýdek-Místek and Karviná districts of the Czech Republic, often forming the border with Poland. It flows into the Oder River north of Bohumín. The Olza-Oder confluence also forms a part of the border. The river is a symbol of the Trans-Olza region, which lies on its west bank, constituting a part of the western half of Cieszyn Silesia, as depicted in the words of the unofficial anthem of this region and of local Poles, Płyniesz Olzo po dolinie (Thou flowest, Olza, down the valley), written by Jan Kubisz. The Olza has also inspired many other artists. Among those who have written about the river are Adolf Fierla, Pola Gojawiczyńska, Emanuel Grim, Julian Przyboś, Vladislav Vančura, and Adam Wawrosz. The singer Jaromír Nohavica has used the Olza as a motif in several of his songs.
