Högsbo

Frölundaborg is an indoor arena located in the Frölunda borough of Gothenburg, Sweden. Frölundaborg is primarily used as an indoor venue for ice hockey games. It has a capacity of 7,600 people. The attendance record is 10,244, set in 1970. It also has been used when the main arena, Scandinavium, has been scheduled for other activities. This has been the case several times for unplanned matches, such as when Frölunda HC played in the Swedish Championship finals. It also serves as a venue for handball events. The Frölundaborg, along with the Scandinavium, will be a venue hosting the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship in Gothenburg. It will host games in Pool B.

2024 World Masters Athletics Championshipsis the 25th in a series of World Masters Athletics Outdoor Championships (WMAC) that will place in Gothenburg, Sweden from 13 to 25 August 2024. This Championships was originally scheduled for 2023, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The main venue is Slottsskogsvallen. Supplemental venues include Ullevi Stadium, Björlanda Athletics Center "invented thanks to the WMAC", Slottsskogen City Park for Road Walks, Half Marathon, and Cross Country, and House of Athletics for training and preparations. This Championships is organized by World Masters Athletics (WMA) in coordination with a Local Organising Committee (LOC). Details of this competition will be finalized following the 2023 General Assembly that will be held in Gothenburg. The WMA is the global governing body of the sport of athletics for athletes 35 years of age or older, setting rules for masters athletics competition.

1977 World Masters Athletics Championships is the second in a series of World Masters Athletics Outdoor Championships (called World Masters Championships or World Veterans Championships at the time) that took place in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 8 to 13 August 1977.The main venue was Slottsskogsvallen. : 1 : 46  Supplemental venues included Ullevi Stadium for 5K and 10K races, the former Gothenburg-Särö railroad route for Marathon, and the park around Björngårdsvillan for Cross Country and Road Walks. Slottsskogsvallen (Swedish: [ˈslɔ̂tːskuːɡsˌvalːɛn], "The Castle Forest Field") is a multi-use stadium in Gothenburg, Sweden. It is currently used mostly for football and athletics. It was the home ground of Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC till 2006. The stadium has a capacity of 8,480, and was built in 1923. It is considered one of the most beautiful arenas in Sweden. It hosted the second Women's World Games in 1926. The Swedish athlete Gunder Hägg started his record-breaking streak at Slotsskogsvallen in 1942. The annual half marathon race, Göteborgsvarvet, the world's largest half marathon race, finishes in the arena. The annual Göteborg Marathon starts and finishes in the arena.

Ruddalens IP is a sports venue in Västra Frölunda, Gothenburg, Sweden. It houses a football stadium for the teams Västra Frölunda IF, Utsiktens BK, Assyriska BK and BK Skottfint with a total capacity of 5,000 spectators.The speed skating venue Rudhallen is the only of its kind in Sweden with the entire facility under one roof. It was the venue for the 2003 World Allround Speed Skating Championships. The indoor speed skating venue is closed for the season 2019/20. Ruddalens IP also has an outdoor bandy field.

Slottskogens djurpark is a Swedish zoo in the park Slottsskogen, located in the town Gothenburg in Sweden. It is a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA).Partially opened for public in 1876, Slottskogens djurpark is one of the oldest zoos in Sweden. There is no entrance fee charged. Among the species displayed is Swedish animals, a pond with seals and penguins. During summer season, a children zoo is open, where children can meet animals like goats, sheep and pigs.

Majorna (pronunciation) is a residential area in Gothenburg, Sweden. It is a part of the borough Majorna-Linné. It is located west of the city just outside the city centre, with Göta älv in the north, Masthugget and Slottsskogen in the east, Högsbo in the south and Älvsborg in the west.

Västra Frölunda, sometimes referred to as just Frölunda, is one of 21 boroughs in the city of Gothenburg, Sweden. It is located in the south western part of the city, and is the smallest of the boroughs with a population of 12,855 (2004) on 3.72 square kilometres, although the term Frölunda generally is used for a much wider area covering almost all the city's western suburbs.

Majorna (pronunciation) was until 2011 one of the 21 boroughs of Gothenburg Municipality. Since 2011 it is joined with the former borough of Linnéstaden and they do together form the new borough of "Majorna-Linné". It was composed of four districts: Kungsladugård Majorna Sanna Stigberget

Frölunda specialist hospital (Swedish: Frölunda Specialistsjukhus) is located in Frölunda, right next to Frölunda torg, approximately nine kilometres south-west of central Gothenburg. The hospital primarily operate with elective care, with specialist in otolaryngology, neurology, gynaecology, orthopedic surgery, medicine, dermatology, ophthalmology, surgery, and radiography. The hospital was inaugurated in 1968 as a local hospital for people living in Tynnered, Frölunda, and Älvsborg. Today, 190 people work at the hospital which is owned by Västra Götaland Regional Council. The 17-storey building is 55 metres (180 ft) high. The hospital occupies the bottom five floors; the rest are residential.

Carl Johan Church (Swedish: Carl Johans kyrka) is a Church of Sweden parish church on Sagberget, in Gothenburg. The church, designed by Fredrik Blom, is named after King Charles XIV John (Karl XIV Johan), who a year before the opening ceremony in 1826 was on a visit to the nearby porter brewery at Klippan. The parish serves Kungsladugård, Nya Varvet, Sandarna and large parts of Majorna.
