KZIA, known as "Z 102.9", is a radio station based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It has a Top 40 (CHR) format entirely staffed with local personalities, including morning DJs Eric Hanson, Clare, and Destiny, known as “The Morning Scramble.” The station's transmitter is located in Hiawatha, Iowa, and its signal reaches most of eastern Iowa, including Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Waterloo, and the Quad Cities area. It also reaches Prairie du Chien, and Platteville, both in Wisconsin.

Kennedy High School is a public high school located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Kennedy was founded in 1967. The building was dedicated by Senator Edward M. Kennedy, younger brother of the school's namesake President John F. Kennedy. The school's athletic teams are known as the Cougars. It is a part of the Cedar Rapids Community School District. In addition to portions of Cedar Rapids, Kennedy High's boundary includes: Hiawatha, Palo, and most of Robins.

Robins is a city in Linn County, Iowa, United States. The population was 3,353 at the time of the 2020 census. It is a suburb of Cedar Rapids and part of the Cedar Rapids Metropolitan Statistical Area.

KDAT (104.5 FM) is a radio station broadcasting an adult contemporary music format. Licensed to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the station serves the Cedar Rapids-Iowa City area. The station is currently owned by Townsquare Media. KDAT's studios are located in the Alliant Energy Building on Second Street SE in Cedar Rapids, and its transmitter is located in Robins. On August 30, 2013, a deal was announced in which Townsquare would acquire 53 Cumulus stations, including KDAT, for $238 million. The deal is part of Cumulus' acquisition of Dial Global; Townsquare and Dial Global are both controlled by Oaktree Capital Management. The sale to Townsquare was completed on November 14, 2013.

The Taylor–Van Note House, also known as Blairs Ferry Wayside Inn/Vanesther Place, is a historic building located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States. Charles Taylor had this two-story, wood frame, vernacular Greek Revival house built in 1846. The family owned the house until 1888 when it was sold to Lazarus Van Note, whose family owned it as late as 1985. Oral legend has it that Taylor rented the front rooms to travelers as they passed through the region. It was located close to James Blair's ferry across the Cedar River, which is why it has long been known as the Blairs Ferry Wayside Inn. The house was built of heavy timbers and exemplifies a traditional I-house. It features two rooms on both floors across its length, and one room deep. The main door is flanked by sidelights and a transom across the top. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Xavier High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is the only Catholic high school in the Cedar Rapids metropolitan area. It is affiliated with twelve area Catholic parishes and the Archdiocese of Dubuque. Xavier opened in 1998 after the merger of two previous Catholic high schools, Regis and LaSalle.

Our Mother of Sorrows Grotto Historic District is a nationally recognized historic district located on the Mount Mercy University campus in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015. It consists of a lagoon and five structures dedicated to the Virgin Mary. They include two arched entryways, a bridge, a ten-column structure representing the Ten Commandments, and a canopy enclosing a marble statue of the Virgin Mary. It was built by William H. Lightner, a self-trained architect, between 1929 and 1941. He utilized 12 tons of stone and 300 varieties of Italian mosaic glass that he acquired in his travels of more than 40,000 miles (64,000 km).Popular in southern Europe, grottoes are natural or artificial caves that are places of spiritual reflection. In the United States, they are found primarily in the Midwest, and are created mostly by self-trained artists and builders.When Lightner died in 1968, the Grotto fell into disrepair. Grants from the Smithsonian Institution’s American Heritage Preservation Project-Save Outdoor Sculpture (2001), the Iowa Arts Council (2011), and The National Endowment for the Arts (2014) were used to restore the structures. The Grotto is used for a variety of personal and communal events.

Mount Mercy University is a private Catholic liberal arts university in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1928. Students take a core of liberal arts courses as a foundation for areas of study including English, fine arts, history, mathematics, multicultural studies, natural science, philosophy, religious studies, social science and speech/drama. The university offers more than 40 undergraduate programs and seven graduate programs, a number of which are available online.

Regis Catholic Middle School was formerly a Catholic high school in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, located at 735 Prairie Drive NE. Opened in 1958 as a successor to Immaculate Conception High School, it drew students from the parishes of All Saints, Immaculate Conception, St. Joseph (Marion), St. Matthew, St. Pius X, and St. Wenceslaus. It merged with LaSalle High School to form Xavier High School in 1998. The former grounds of Regis High School are now occupied by Regis Catholic Middle School which opened in 2000.

Seminole Valley Farmstead is a collection of historic farm buildings located in Seminole Valley Park on the west side of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States. The historic designation includes the farmhouse (c. 1902–1903), summer kitchen, livestock barn, tool shed, ice house, chicken house, and smokehouse. There is also a small orchard and a garden. The complex is located near a bend in the Cedar River. The farm represents a transitional period between Iowa's austere pioneer farms and the mechanized farms that developed later in the 20th century. The nearby timber was a source of raw materials for the farm, the fertile bottomland on which it is located provided rich soil for grazing and cultivation, and the smokehouse and ice house were used to preserve agricultural products for later consumption. At the same time the barn and the chicken house were more substantial than those from earlier times. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
