Narodowe Archiwum Cyfrowe (NAC; English: National Digital Archives) is the national archive of Poland, formed 8 March 2008 from the merger of the Archives of Audio-Visual Records and the State Archives of Poland. It acts as the national archive for Poland and holds the central archives of the Poland government. They are the state official archives and aim to provide digital files as a response to the development of recording, storing and access technologies The vision of the NDA is to: archive digital materials, including digital documents archive photographs, films and sound recordings create digital files of hard copy materials share digital information and make the collection accessible online

The September Barricade Monument (Polish: Pomnik Barykada Września) is a brutalist mounument in Warsaw, Poland. It is located in the district of Ochota, at Grójecka Street, near the intersection with Opaczewska Street. The monument commemorates a barricade that was constructed by the Polish Armed Forces during the Siege of Warsaw, and used between 8 and 27 September 1939. It consists of three large concrete sculptures, depicting numerals of dates 8-IX (8 September), the day the barricade was erected, 1939, the year of the siege, and 27-IX (27 September), the day the city capitulated. It was designed by Julian Pałka, and unveiled on 12 September 1979.

The defense of Ochota and Wola refers to military actions undertaken by the Polish Army on 8–9 September 1939 during the September campaign, in the districts of Ochota and Wola in Warsaw. The result was the repulsion of the German assault by the 4th Panzer Division and thus the thwarting of the German plan for a rapid capture of the Polish capital. On 8 September 1939, German tanks reached the outskirts of Warsaw. Believing that merely their presence would break the defenders' will to fight, General Georg-Hans Reinhardt attempted to capture the city that same afternoon. However, the German tanks advancing along the Kraków Avenue were repelled by the fire of Polish artillery and infantry. The next day, after bringing up artillery and the main forces of the 4th Panzer Division, the Germans launched a regular assault. The main focus of the attack was on Ochota, although fighting also broke out in Wola and at Mokotów Field after a while. The Polish defenders managed to repel the enemy assault, and the 4th Panzer Division suffered the loss of up to 50% of its tanks during its unsuccessful attempt to capture Warsaw. The defense of Ochota and Wola was the greatest success achieved by the Poles during the defense of Warsaw in September 1939. The repulsion of the attack had a positive impact on the morale of both soldiers and civilians. Combined with the Polish counteroffensive that began at the same time on the Bzura river, it forced the Germans to temporarily cease their attempts to capture Warsaw through direct assault.

Free Polish University (Polish: Wolna Wszechnica Polska), founded in 1918 in Warsaw, was a private high school with different departments: mathematics and natural sciences, humanities, political sciences and social pedagogy. From 1929, its degrees were equivalent to those of university. In the years 1919–1939 the institution employed 70–80 professors. In the academic year 1938/39 educated about 3000 students. The university conducted clandestine courses during the German occupation, but after the war, its activities were not resumed.The university was disbanded in 1952.

Rakowiec is a neighbourhood in Warsaw, the capital of Poland. Part of the borough of Ochota, it originally was a separate village, established in the Middle Ages. Nationalised by the Russian authorities in the late 19th century, the village was occupied by one of the forts of the Warsaw Fortress. After Poland regained her independence, in 1930 the area was incorporated into Warsaw, and residential areas were soon built there.

Och-Teatr is a privately owned performing arts theater located in Ochota, Warsaw. It was founded in 2010 by Krystyna Janda's Foundation for Culture. It has a total of 554 seats, 100 of which are unnumbered in the smaller Och-Cafe Theater section.

The Ochota Massacre (in Polish: Rzeź Ochoty – "Ochota slaughter") was a wave of German-orchestrated mass murder, looting, arson, torture and rape, which swept through the Warsaw district of Ochota from 4–25 August 1944, during the Warsaw Uprising. The principal perpetrators of these war crimes were the Nazi collaborationist S.S. Sturmbrigade R.O.N.A., the so-called "Russian National Liberation Army" (Russian: Русская Освободительная Народная Армия, RONA), commanded by Bronislav Kaminski. The worst atrocities were committed in the local hospitals, in the Curie Institute, the Kolonia Staszica housing estate, and the Zieleniak concentration camp. In all, about 10,000 residents of Ochota were killed and had their property stolen, after which the district was systematically burnt down by German forces, as were the bodies of many of the victims.

The Good Maharaja Square (Polish: Skwer Dobrego Maharadży), also known as the Opacz Park (Polish: Park Opaczewski), is a garden square in Warsaw, Poland, located in the district of Ochota, between Grójecka, Opaczewska Street, and Szczęśliwicka Streets.

The Medical University of Warsaw (Polish name: Warszawski Uniwersytet Medyczny, Latin name: Universitas Medica Varsoviensis) is one of the oldest and the largest medical school in Poland. The first academic department of medicine was created in 1809. It is one of the most prestigious schools of medical science affiliated with a number of large hospitals in Poland. The academic staff of the Medical University of Warsaw are recognized nationally and internationally for their contributions to the research and practice in medicine. Many of them hold the prestigious posts of National Medical Consultants. The Medical University of Warsaw provides general and specialty training at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Students learn at five clinical teaching hospitals who provide general and tertiary medical care to patients. Students and staff also conduct scientific and clinical research at these hospitals as well as are involved in a number of clinical academic departments located in other hospitals in Warsaw. MUW offers 19 degree programs including 3 full-time degree programs in English: Dentistry, Medicine, Pharmacy.

The Warsaw Icon Museum (Polish: Muzeum Ikon w Warszawie) is the first museum in Warsaw and the third in Poland dedicated to icons. Located in the Ochota district of Warsaw, Poland, the museum is housed in a former boilerhouse.
