Free Polish University (Polish: Wolna Wszechnica Polska), founded in 1918 in Warsaw, was a private high school with different departments: mathematics and natural sciences, humanities, political sciences and social pedagogy. From 1929, its degrees were equivalent to those of university. In the years 1919–1939 the institution employed 70–80 professors. In the academic year 1938/39 educated about 3000 students. The university conducted clandestine courses during the German occupation, but after the war, its activities were not resumed.The university was disbanded in 1952.

The Warsaw Icon Museum (Polish: Muzeum Ikon w Warszawie) is the first museum in Warsaw and the third in Poland dedicated to icons. Located in the Ochota district of Warsaw, Poland, the museum is housed in a former boilerhouse.

Plac Narutowicza (Polish pronunciation: [ˈplats narutɔvitʂa]; English: Narutowicz Square) is a city square located in the Ochota district in Warsaw, Poland. The site is named after Gabriel Narutowicz, the first president of the Second Polish Republic. His monument was inaugurated here in 2002.

Kolonia Lubeckiego (Polish pronunciation: [ˈkoloɲa lubetʂˈkʲɛɡɔ]; English: Lubecki Colony) is a historical housing estate in the Ochota district of Warsaw, Poland, bordered by the streets Fitrowa, Krzywickiego, Wawelska, Grójecka and Plac Narutowicza. The area is characterized by houses built during the interwar period, with many trees and green spaces.

The Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Polish: Kościół Niepokalanego Poczęcia Najświętszej Maryi Panny w Warszawie) is a church on Grójecka Street in the Ochota district of Warsaw, the capital city of Poland. Designed by architect Oskar Sosnowski, construction started in 1911 but was interrupted in 1914. Before construction resumed in 1927 the church hosted the parish of St James the Apostle. The church sustained some damage during the siege of Warsaw in 1939, mainly to the Chapel of the Virgin Mary. Much heavier damage occurred during the Warsaw Uprising of 1944 and most of the building's contents were destroyed, including the roof and the stained glass windows designed by H Bardzińska. Reconstruction work began in 1946 and was largely complete by the end of the 1950s.

Narodowe Archiwum Cyfrowe (NAC; English: National Digital Archives) is the national archive of Poland, formed 8 March 2008 from the merger of the Archives of Audio-Visual Records and the State Archives of Poland. It acts as the national archive for Poland and holds the central archives of the Poland government. The Aviator Monument (Polish: Pomnik Lotnika) is a monument in Warsaw designed by Edward Wittig in honor of Franciszek Żwirko and Stanisław Wigura, two aviation heroes of Poland. It is a reconstruction of the original monument that was unveiled in 1932 in Union of Lublin Square and destroyed in 1944. The current monument was constructed in 1967.

The Jan and Halina Machulski Ochota Theater (Polish: Teatr Ochoty im. Jana i Haliny Machulskich) is a performing arts theater in Kolonia Lubeckiego, Ochota, Warsaw. The auditorium has a seating capacity of less than 100.

The Medical University of Warsaw (Polish name: Warszawski Uniwersytet Medyczny, Latin name: Universitas Medica Varsoviensis) is one of the oldest and the largest medical school in Poland. The first academic department of medicine was created in 1809. It is one of the most prestigious schools of medical science affiliated with a number of large hospitals in Poland. The academic staff of the Medical University of Warsaw are recognized nationally and internationally for their contributions to the research and practice in medicine. Many of them hold the prestigious posts of National Medical Consultants. The Medical University of Warsaw provides general and specialty training at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Students learn at five clinical teaching hospitals who provide general and tertiary medical care to patients. Students and staff also conduct scientific and clinical research at these hospitals as well as are involved in a number of clinical academic departments located in other hospitals in Warsaw. MUW offers 19 degree programs including 3 full-time degree programs in English: Dentistry, Medicine, Pharmacy.

The National School of Public Administration (Polish: Krajowa Szkoła Administracji Publicznej, abbreviated as KSAP) was established in 1990 by the Tadeusz Mazowiecki government. An inspiration for its founders was the French École nationale d’administration. The aim of the school is to train civil servants for the public administration of the Republic of Poland. The school is located in Warsaw. Training at the school lasts from 18 to 20 months. The programme is focused on the following learning paths: law and administration; economics and public finance; the European Union and foreign policy; management and soft skills development. Students do two internships in Poland and one abroad (usually in the European Union country).

The Ochota Massacre (in Polish: Rzeź Ochoty – "Ochota slaughter") was a wave of German-orchestrated mass murder, looting, arson, torture and rape, which swept through the Warsaw district of Ochota from 4–25 August 1944, during the Warsaw Uprising. The principal perpetrators of these war crimes were the Nazi collaborationist S.S. Sturmbrigade R.O.N.A., the so-called "Russian National Liberation Army" (Russian: Русская Освободительная Народная Армия, RONA), commanded by Bronislav Kaminski. The worst atrocities were committed in the local hospitals, in the Curie Institute, the Kolonia Staszica housing estate, and the Zieleniak concentration camp. In all, about 10,000 residents of Ochota were killed and had their property stolen, after which the district was systematically burnt down by German forces, as were the bodies of many of the victims.
