The Philadelphia State Hospital at Byberry was a psychiatric hospital located on either side of Roosevelt Boulevard (US Route 1) in Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was specifically located in the Somerton section of the city on the border with Bucks County. The name of the institution was changed several times during its history being variously named Philadelphia State Hospital, Byberry State Hospital, Byberry City Farms, and the Philadelphia Hospital for Mental Diseases. It was home to people ranging from the mentally challenged to the criminally insane. The primary buildings were constructed between 1907 and the mid-1920s, and the newer buildings were constructed between 1940 and 1953. The facility included over fifty buildings such as male and female dormitories, an infirmary, kitchens, laundry, administration, a chapel, and a morgue. The hospital's population grew rapidly, quickly exceeding its capacity; the peak patient population was over 7,000 in 1960. Several investigations into the conditions at the hospital at various points revealed that raw sewage lined the hallways, patients slept in the halls, and the staff mistreated and exploited patients. The hospital has been featured in the paranormal television series Scared!.

[[ ]] Concord Park is a residential neighborhood in the Trevose section of Bensalem Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, originally established as an intentional racially integrated community in 1954 by Morris Milgram, a pioneering social activist and civil rights trailblazer who believed Black people should have the same access to housing as whites.Concord Park Homes were "the first planned open occupancy homes for sale by a builder determined to build only integrated housing; 139 three and four-bedroom homes were sold and occupied by 55 percent white families and 45 percent Negro families." Some of the early homeowners included interracial couples, communists, and other nonconformists.The community's origin and history were featured at Bensalem Township's 325th anniversary in 2017 at Growden Mansion and on the Mayor's Show.

Mechanicsville School is a former school building located in the Village of Mechanicsville neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1866–1867, and is a one-story, three-bay, vernacular stone building coated in stucco. It has a gable roof with wood cornice and brick chimney.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It is now used as a private residence.

Trevose, also known as the TVO(tee,vee,oh), is a census-designated place within Lower Southampton Township, while the entire community of Trevose within and beyond the CDP is in both Bensalem and Lower Southampton Townships in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, United States, which is north of and borders northeastern Philadelphia. Trevose was formerly part of Feasterville-Trevose, but was split into two separate CDPs for the 2010 census. U.S. 1 runs through the town as well as the Pennsylvania Turnpike, but Trevose's main road is Brownsville Road, which is the dividing line between the two townships. As of the 2010 census, Trevose had a population of 3,550.The community is named after the home of settler Joseph Growden and itself after Growden's homestead in England (Growden was Cornish; Trevose is from the Cornish word Trenfos for farm.).

Parkwood is a neighborhood located in the Far Northeast section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The neighborhood's boundaries include the Byberry East Industrial Park to the north and northwest, Poquessing Creek to the east, Knights Road to the southeast and Woodhaven Road to the southwest. The neighborhood was developed by Hyman Korman in the 1960-62 as a planned residential community. The predominant housing type is the brick row house. The Parkwood Shopping Center is a local shopping destination, while the Philadelphia Mills mall is a regional shopping destination on Knights Road to the east of Parkwood's residential area.

Byberry is a neighborhood in the far northeast section of Philadelphia, in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. Originally it was incorporated as the Township of Byberry and was the northeasternmost municipality of Philadelphia County before the City and County were consolidated in 1854. Its approximate boundaries are the Poquessing Creek to the north, Woodhaven Road to the south, the Roosevelt Boulevard to the west, and Thornton Road to the east. Byberry had a strong abolitionist presence and may have been an original stop on the Underground Railroad. Today, the area occupied by the township is mostly synonymous with the neighborhood of Somerton, as the neighborhoods of Byberry and Somerton tend to overlap.

Trevose station is a station along the SEPTA West Trenton Line to Ewing, New Jersey. It is located at Ridge and Boundbrook Avenues in Bensalem Township, Pennsylvania. The station has off-street parking and a handicapped-accessible platform, however SEPTA has recently announced that they've expanded the number of parking spaces to 219. In FY 2013, Trevose station had a weekday average of 283 boardings and 275 alightings.The previous station depot at Trevose was built in 1888 by the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad. The former station house was torn down in March 1970 and replaced with a small shelter to protect commuters from the elements.

Parx Casino and Racing (formerly Philadelphia Park Racetrack and Casino) is a Thoroughbred horse racing venue and the largest casino gaming complex in Pennsylvania. Parx is located in Bensalem Township in Bucks County, northeast of the city of Philadelphia. Owned and operated by Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment, Inc., Parx features 24-hour gaming with over 3,200 slot machines, 188 live table games, a poker room with 48 poker tables, live racing and simulcast action, sports betting, several dining options and bars, and the Xcite Center. Parx also offers online gambling and online sports betting along with off-track betting at two locations.

Neshaminy Mall is a 1,025,297-square-foot (95,253 m2) shopping mall located at U.S. Route 1 and Bristol Road in Bensalem Township, Pennsylvania. The mall was opened in 1968 and was the sixth interior mall constructed in Greater Philadelphia. The Neshaminy Mall is anchored by Boscov's and AMC Theatres and has 65 shops and eateries including a food court that was opened in 1989 and retailers including Barnes & Noble and Foot Locker.The Neshaminy Mall is directly across Bristol Road from Belmont, a historic home. The mall was named after the nearby Neshaminy Creek and features a unique fountain, which features of a waterfall, trees, plants and a statue of Tawanka who was a leader of the Lenni Lenape Native American tribe. The world "Neshaminy" comes from the Lenni Lenape tribe's language. In the 2010s, the mall saw an increased vacancy rate.

Math, Science, and Technology (MaST) Community Charter School was founded by Karen DelGuercio in 1999. The school was established in Northeast Philadelphia in what was once an old steel factory. The school building was remodeled at the end of the 2004 school year, and two years later expansion led to the construction of a new school building. In the last five years a library and media center, a fitness center, and a maker studio have been added. In 2014, MaST was one of four Philadelphia public schools to exceed the national average SAT score.

Neshaminy Falls station is a station along the SEPTA West Trenton Line to Ewing, New Jersey. It is located at Bristol Road & Linden Street in Bensalem Township, Pennsylvania. The station has off-street parking and a handicapped-accessible platform. In FY 2013, Neshaminy Falls station had a weekday average of 276 boardings and 259 alightings.Neshaminy Falls station was originally built in 1888 by the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad for both passenger and freight service and was razed in March 1970. Neshaminy Falls station is also near CSX's Trenton Subdivision that leads to the Fox Chase Line between Ryers and Cheltenham stations.

Somerton is a neighborhood in the Far Northeast section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The neighborhood is bounded by Red Lion Road on the south, Roosevelt Boulevard on the east, East County Line Road and Poquessing Creek on the north, and the Philadelphia County / Montgomery County line on the west. Somerton is adjacent to the Philadelphia neighborhoods of Bustleton, Normandy, and Byberry, the townships of Bensalem and Lower Southampton in Bucks County, and Lower Moreland Township in Montgomery County. The area is home to a large and fast-growing foreign-born population, most notably of Russian and Indian immigrants.
