Skalité

is a village in Gmina Istebna, Cieszyn County in Silesian Voivodeship, southern Poland. The village is situated in Beskid Śląski mountain range, near to the borders with the Czech Republic and Slovakia, in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia. The name is of topographic origins and is derived from sycamore trees (Polish: jawor) and is a diminutive form of jaworzyna.

The village is now an established tourist destination, offering private lodgings and agrobusiness. During the winter a ski resort located southeast of the village, Oščadnica-Veľká Rača, is a popular destination. Within the village are plenty of bars and restaurants serving traditional Slovak food, along with typical Western fast foods.

Kysuce Protected Landscape Area (Slovak: Chránená krajinná oblasť Kysuce) is one of the 14 protected landscape areas in Slovakia. It is made of two separate parts, the Javorníky mountains in the west, and Kysucké Beskydy mountains in the east, in north-western Slovakia. It is situated in the Čadca and Kysucké Nové Mesto districts, within the Kysuce region. It borders three other protected areas: the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area in the Czech Republic, Żywiec Landscape Park in Poland and Horná Orava Protected Landscape Area in Slovakia.

Gírová (Polish: Girowa) is an 840-metre-high (2,756 ft) mountain in the Silesian Beskids mountain range, in the Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. The mountain is located several kilometers from the borders with Poland and Slovakia. There is a mountain hut on the mountain, at the elevation of 790 m (2,592 ft). It was opened on 16 October 1932 by the Club of Czechoslovak Tourists. Six year afterwards, the hut was rented by Franciszek Schulhauser, who has been administering it until 1967. During the communist era, the hut was owned by several state companies, and was not fully opened to the tourists. It was only on 4 September 1993, when the hut was fully opened.There are two tourist trails leading to Gírová. One can reach the mountain from Mosty u Jablunkova (Mosty koło Jabłonkowa) and Bukovec (Bukowiec), the second one from Jablunkov (Jabłonków).

The Kysucké Beskydy is a set of mountain ranges in the Kysuce region of northern Slovakia. Slovaks consider the mountains to belong to the Central Beskids, of the Outer Western Carpathians, while Poles classify them as part of the Western Beskids. The highest peak of these ranges is Veľká Rača, at 1236 meters. Most of the area is heavily forested, with some endangered species, and a large part of these ranges fall within the Kysuce Protected Landscape Area.

Svrčinovec (Hungarian: Fenyvesszoros, until 1899 Szvrcsinovecz) is a village and municipality in Čadca District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia.

Písek (Polish: , German: Piosek) is a municipality and village in Frýdek-Místek District in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,900 inhabitants. The municipality has a significant Polish minority.
