Kysucké Beskydy

Kysuce Protected Landscape Area (Slovak: Chránená krajinná oblasť Kysuce) is one of the 14 protected landscape areas in Slovakia. It is made of two separate parts, the Javorníky mountains in the west, and Kysucké Beskydy mountains in the east, in north-western Slovakia. It is situated in the Čadca and Kysucké Nové Mesto districts, within the Kysuce region. It borders three other protected areas: the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area in the Czech Republic, Żywiec Landscape Park in Poland and Horná Orava Protected Landscape Area in Slovakia.

Oščadnica (Hungarian: Ócsad) is a large village and municipality in Čadca District, in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia. It has 22 outlying settlements. The village is now an established tourist destination, offering private lodgings and agrobusiness. During the winter a ski resort located southeast of the village, Oščadnica-Veľká Rača, is a popular destination. Within the village are plenty of bars and restaurants serving traditional Slovak food, along with typical Western fast foods.

Krásno nad Kysucou is the youngest town in Slovakia (it gained the statute of town on the 1. September 2001). It is an industrial town known for its forest industry. It is the third biggest town in Kysuce Region and it is also known to be the gate to the Bystrická dolina. It has 7038 inhabitants.

The village is situated in Beskid Śląski mountain range, near to the borders with the Czech Republic and Slovakia, in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia. The name is of topographic origins and is derived from sycamore trees (Polish: jawor) and is a diminutive form of jaworzyna.

Dunajov (Hungarian: Dunajó) is a village and municipality in Čadca District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia.

The Horelica Tunnel is a road tunnel in northern Slovakia. It is located on the D3 motorway at the Oščadnica - Čadca section (Čadca bypass). The total length of the tunnel without portals is 555 m, and with portals 605 m. Its construction began in July 2000 and the breakthrough was reached in May 2002. The tunnel with Čadca bypass was opened on October 29, 2004, and it replaced road 11, which runs across the town of Čadca.

Gmina Istebna is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Cieszyn County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland, in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia. Its seat is the village of Istebna. The gmina covers an area of 84.25 square kilometres (32.5 sq mi), and as of 2019 its total population is 12,129.
