Cernica Monastery

Cernica is a commune in the southeast part of Ilfov County, Muntenia, Romania, with a population of 11,871 as of 2021. It is composed of five villages: Bălăceanca, Căldăraru, Cernica, Poșta and Tânganu. The commune lent its name to the Cernica Monastery, an early 17th-century Orthodox monastery in the nearby town of Pantelimon. The name is also given to the Cernica Forest, the largest wooded area around Bucharest. The name of the commune is derived from the name of the vornic Cernica Știrbei and is of Slavic origin, meaning "black".

Lake Pantelimon is an anthropic lake located in the northern part of the city of Bucharest, developed on the Colentina River, in the area where it flows through the urban area of the city, situated between Lake Cernica upstream and Lake Dobroești downstream.

The Colentina is a left tributary of the river Dâmbovița in Romania. It discharges into the Dâmbovița near Bălăceanca. Glina is a commune in the south-east of Ilfov county, Muntenia, Romania. Its name is derived from Slavic Glina, meaning "clay". It is composed of three villages: Cățelu, Glina, and Manolache. The commune is the site of the Glina sewage treatment plant. Cățelu is the site of Battery 9–10, the best known – and most visited – former military fort from a defensive circle of fortifications surrounding Bucharest that was built in the late 19th century, during the reign of King Carol I.

Anghel Saligny, known for a short time as Linia de Centură ("Ring Road"), is a metro station in southeastern Bucharest on Line M3. It is the final stop of the Preciziei – Anghel Saligny M3 extension. It was open on 20 November 2008 as part of the extension from Nicolae Grigorescu, which initially operated as a shuttle. The regular operation started on 4 July 2009. You can also go to the Nicolae Teclu metro station or 472 to go to Cernica Originally planned to serve the large industrial estates in the area and replace the obsolete surface tram line, now it serves suburban commuters and students.

Pantelimon (Romanian pronunciation: [panteliˈmon]) is a town in Ilfov County, Muntenia, Romania. The town — bordered to the west by the Romanian capital, Bucharest — has an area of 69 km2 (27 sq mi). Its name is derived from the Greek saint Panteleimon.

The Șindrilița is a left tributary of the river Pasărea in Romania. It flows into the Pasărea in the village Pasărea. Its length is 12 km (7.5 mi) and its basin size is 59 km2 (23 sq mi).

Găneasa is a commune in the east of Ilfov County, Muntenia, Romania. Its name is a feminine form of Gane, a Romanian name. It is composed of five villages: Cozieni, Găneasa, Moara Domnească, Piteasca, and Șindrilița.

The Romanian Plain (Romanian: Câmpia Română) is located in southern Romania and the easternmost tip of Serbia, where it is known as the Wallachian Plain (Serbian: Vlaška nizija/Влашка низија). It is part of the larger Eurasian Steppe. It is located in the historical region of Wallachia, and bordered by the Danube River in the east, south and west, and by the Getic Plateau in the north. Bucharest, the capital of Romania, is located in the central part of the Romanian Plain. It is contiguous to the south with the Danubian Plain (Bulgarian: Дунавска равнина), in Bulgaria. This area is also sometimes referred to as the Danubian Plain (Câmpia Dunării) in Romanian, though this designation is not specific, because the Danube flows through a number of plains along its course, such as the Hungarian Plain (which is called the Danubian Plain in Slovakia and Serbia), as well as the Bavarian Lowland, also called the Danubian Plain.

Pantelimon (also known informally as Antilopa) is a metro station on Line M1 of the Bucharest Metro. Situated in Pantelimon neighbourhood, adjacent to the town of Pantelimon, it is the terminus of Line M1 and was opened in May 1991 as a one-station extension from Republica.The station was built only to serve the Pantelimon Subway Depot and the workers of the defunct Antilopa factory, which is located in the close vicinity. The station only employs one track and most trains on line M1 stop at Republica metro station, while only some go all the way to Pantelimon, when the line is clear. Supposedly the station was opened in 1989 for trials, and it has another platform (currently unused) but due to residents complaints about the tunnel underneath cracking their homes, the line was closed but reopened the year later, to be used as a reduced capacity. During the trials, it was stated that at first, a simple shuttle used in the early mornings and late nights was used to transport the workers from the depot, only later the full line being opened for trials (for only a few days, though).

Nicolae Teclu, known for a short time as Policolor is a metro station in southeastern Bucharest on Line M3. It is on the Nicolae Grigorescu – Anghel Saligny M3 branch and was opened on 20 November 2008 as part of the extension from Nicolae Grigorescu to Linia de Centură (now Anghel Saligny). Initially, a shuttle started operating between Nicolae Grigorescu and Linia de centura. The regular operation started on 4 July 2009. It is named after Nicolae Teclu, a Romanian chemist.
