St Leonard's Church, Cotheridge

Cotheridge is a village and civil parish in the district of Malvern Hills in the county of Worcestershire, England. It is 4 miles (6 km) west of the city of Worcester and a mile north-east of the Leigh Court railway station on the Great Western Railway on the opposite side of the River Teme. The River Teme flows on the southern and south-western part of the village where the land is low-lying and is susceptible to flooding. The soil content is loam and clay with the subsoil being Keuper Marl. The village is small with most of its residents being widespread. It is noted for its 12th century St. Leonard's Church and manor house. There have been many variations of the name over the centuries including Coddanhrycce (10th century); Codderycce, Koderie, and Codrie (11th century); Kodere, Coddarycge (12th century); Codrigg, Coderigge, Codrugge (13th century); Coterugge (14th century); Coderych, Coderiche (15/16th centuries); Cotheridge, Cowtrige, Cowderidge (17th century).

Cotheridge Court is a Grade II* listed ancient manor house situated in the south-western part of Cotheridge, in the county of Worcestershire, England, and birthplace of Herbert Bowyer Berkeley. The house bought in 1615 by William Berkeley, eldest son of Rowland Berkeley (1548-1611) of Spetchley, was owned and lived in by the Berkeley family for nearly 350 years, but the manor is over one thousand years old. This family descended from the Berkeleys of Berkeley Castle Gloucestershire, and Eadnoth. Cotheridge Court is now a private residence of sub-divided flats.

Leigh Court Barn is a cruck framed barn at Leigh, Worcestershire, England, built in the early fourteenth century to store produce for Pershore Abbey. It is the largest and one of the oldest cruck barns in Britain, measuring over 43 metres (141 ft) long, 11 metres (36 ft) wide and 9 metres (29 ft) high, supported by nine pairs of massive oak beams. Radiocarbon dating places its construction about 1325.

The parish includes Leigh, Brockamin, Leigh Sinton, Sandlin & Smith End Green. The local pronunciation is that the name rhymes with "lie". Due largely to the significant reduction of the hop industry in the area,Leigh, like many local villages, declined in the late 20th century; it lost its pub, its police station and its railway station (with the closure of the Bromyard branch line in the 1960s).

Situated about 5 miles (8.0 km) from Worcester and 5 miles (8.0 km) from Malvern, in addition to the villages of Leigh Sinton, Leigh and Bransford, the combined parishes also include the hamlets of Brockamin, Sandin, and Smith End.

Bransford is a village and civil parish in the Malvern Hills district of the county of Worcestershire, England. It is situated close to the River Teme and the village of Leigh. It is on the primary route between Worcester and Hereford, the A4103 that runs through the centre of the village. According to the 2011 census, Bransford has a population of 389. The parish shares its parish council with Leigh. The main church in Bransford is St. Johns the Baptist church, a small Norman building, lit by candlelight. Bransford is part of the West Worcestershire parliamentary constituency and its current Member of Parliament is Harriet Baldwin, who is a Conservative representative.

Malvern Hills is a local government district in Worcestershire, England. Its council is based in the town of Malvern, and its area covers most of the western half of the county, including the outlying towns of Tenbury Wells and Upton-upon-Severn. It was originally formed in 1974 and was subject to a significant boundary reform in 1998. In the 2011 census the population of the Malvern Hills district was 74,631.

Bransford Road railway station was a station in Bransford, Worcestershire, England. The station was opened in 1860 and closed on 5 April 1965. The original station was replaced in 1911 by a standard GWR design with most facilities on the "up" platform. The goods yard was closed in 1964.
