Mixcoac from Nahuatl means "viper in the cloud" is an archaeological zone belonging to the Mexica (Aztec) culture. It was on the shores of Lake Texcoco and in its final stage was under the rule of Tenochtitlan. With the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors, the settlement was practically destroyed to its foundations, which are the only thing that survives of the architecture of the place and can be appreciated today in what is today the San Pedro de los Pinos neighborhood, on the corner of San Antonio avenue and Periférico, in Mexico City. The name Mixcoac, viper of the cloud, could be understood as a representation of the celestial serpent or Milky Way. The occupation of this archaeological area is estimated to have occurred from 900 BC to 1521 AD.

San Pedro de los Pinos is a station on Line 7 of the Mexico City Metro system. It is located in the Benito Juárez municipality of Mexico City, west of the city centre. In 2019, the station had an average ridership of 13,680 passengers per day.

The Plaza de toros México, situated in Mexico City, is the world's largest bullring. This 41,262-seat facility is usually dedicated to bullfighting, but many boxing matches have been held there as well, including Julio César Chávez's third bout with Frankie Randall. The Plaza México replaced the ancient bullring Toreo de la Condesa in the Condesa neighborhood that was overwhelmed by the rapid growth of population in the capital. It opened on 5 February 1946 and annually since then, that date marks the date of the Corrida de Aniversario. This building was built beside the football stadium Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes (formerly Estadio Azul).

Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes (English: “Sports City Stadium”; formerly Estadio Azul) is a 33,000-seat stadium located in Ciudad de los Deportes, Mexico City. This sports facility is used for association football matches and for American football as well. The Tazón México has been played at the stadium. It was the home of Mexican football club Cruz Azul until 2018, hence the previous nickname of Estadio Azul, and the Mexico national football team, especially in the early 1990s. In summer 2016, it was announced by Mexico City authorities that plans to demolish the stadium would begin at the end of the 2017-2018 Liga MX season. However, in July 2018, the demolition project was put on hold. It is presently the home of Atlante F.C. The stadium was dubbed again with the nickname Estadio Azulgrana which it previously held during the 1980s and 1990s due to the fact that it was the home of Atlante F.C., whose club colors are blue and garnet. Both times Mexico hosted the World Cup, Estadio Azul did not host matches mainly due to the age of the structure, bad parking facilities, and complex traffic patterns. A peculiarity of this stadium is that it is built as a pit with the playing field is below street level. Just beside the stadium is the Plaza México, the world's largest bullring.

Mixcoac is an area of southern Mexico City which used to be a separate town and municipality within the Mexican Federal District until it was made part of Mexico City proper (the Departamento Central at the time) in 1928. Mixcoac consists of the colonias (official neighborhoods) of Nonoalco, San Juan, Extremadura Insurgentes, Mixcoac, and Insurgentes Mixcoac and is part of the borough of Benito Juárez. It is bounded by Avenida de los Insurgentes to the east and the Periférico freeway to the west, south of Colonia Nápoles and San Pedro de los Pinos. It is a designated Barrio Mágico ("magical neighborhood") of Mexico City.

Mixcoac is a station on Line 7 and Line 12 of the Mexico City Metro. The station serves both lines as a transfer station and as the northwestern terminus of Line 12. In 2019, the station had an average total ridership of 54,963 passengers per day.

Parque Hundido (official name is Parque Luis G. Urbina) is an urban park located in Benito Juárez, Mexico City.

The Federal Telecommunications Institute (Spanish: Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones; abbreviated as IFT and incorrectly referred to as IFETEL) is an independent government agency of Mexico charged with the regulation of telecommunications and broadcasting services. It was formed on September 10, 2013, as part of larger reforms to Mexican telecom regulations, and replaced the Federal Telecommunications Commission (Cofetel). The current President of the IFT is Gabriel Oswaldo Contreras Saldívar.

Universidad Panamericana (English: Panamerican University), commonly known as UP, is a private research, Catholic university founded in Mexico City. It has four campuses: the main Mixcoac campus in the Benito Juarez borough of south-western Mexico City, founded in 1968; the Guadalajara campus established in 1981; the Aguascalientes campus established in 1989; and Campus Santa Fe, also in Mexico City, founded in 2011. One of the most prestihious universities in Mexico, it is currently ranked 3rd best university in Mexico by QS World University Rankings and 2nd best private university.

Colonia Insurgentes Mixcoac, or simply Insurgentes Mixcoac, is a neighborhood located in Benito Juárez, Mexico City.
