Oakleigh is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia 14 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Monash local government area. Oakleigh recorded a population of 8,442 at the 2021 census.Once a large independent city, Oakleigh was absorbed into Melbourne as part of the eastward expansion of the metropolis in the 1950s. As a result, it once had its own large historic Central Business District, its own municipality in the former City of Oakleigh and its own suburbs. The area is traditionally known to have a strong Greek cultural influence, largely due to the influx of said immigrants to Australia in the mid-20th century. Fourteen per cent of those living in the suburb speak only Greek at home.Although the origin of the name of the suburb, "Oakleigh," is unclear, local historians have three main theories – that it was derived from she-oaks that grew near Scotchmans Creek; from "Oakleigh Park" an estate near Malvern Hills in England; or from Mrs Oakley, an early settler.

Jack Edwards Reserve is an Australian soccer ground in Oakleigh, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria. It is the home of Oakleigh Cannons. The ground has a single main stand with seating of approx 500. The ground has a capacity of 4,000. The ground is situated at 22 Edward Street, Oakleigh and is the venue for Senior Men's, Women's and Juniors matches of the National Premier Leagues.

The format is 72-hole stroke play; the first and third days were four-ball (best ball), and the second and fourth days were foursomes (alternate shot) play.The Belgian pair of Thomas Pieters and Thomas Detry won with a score of 265, 23-under-par. Australia and Mexico tied for second place, three strokes behind. It was Belgium's first victory in the World Cup.

Oakleigh railway station is a commuter railway station in the suburb of Oakleigh, south east of Melbourne. Victoria. The station opened in 1877 as the up end of the Gippsland line, with the station being electrified in 1922. The station consists of two island platforms which offer direct street access and are connected via a pedestrian subway. There is a station building on both platforms which functions as a ticket office, a waiting room and a toilet.
