The Gothenburg Botanical Garden (Swedish: Göteborgs botaniska trädgård) is located in Gothenburg, Sweden, and is one of the larger botanical gardens in Europe.

Åby Racetrack (Swedish: Åbytravet) is a horse racing track located in Mölndal, 10 km south of Gothenburg, Sweden.Åby was opened in 1936 as a track for harness racing as well as thoroughbred racing. Since October 1976, the track has been dedicated to harness racing solely.Åby is the second biggest track for harness racing in Sweden. The length of the track is 1,000 meters.

Johanneberg Science Park was established in December 2009 by the Chalmers University of Technology Foundation and the City of Gothenburg to create better conditions for regional sustainable growth, based on the activities currently conducted within Chalmers University of Technology at Campus Johanneberg in Gothenburg, Sweden. The Science Park primarily support development of activities within the disciplines of Urban Development, Environment, Energy, Materials and Nanoscience.

Askim (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈâɧːɪm]) is a district (stadsdelsnämndsområde) of the Gothenburg Municipality in Sweden, about 10 km (6 mi) south-west of the city centre. To the northwest of Askim is Västra Frölunda, to the east is Mölndal, and the sea is to the west. As a district, Askim has a local board composed of the same proportions ruling Gothenburg as a whole. The voting base in Askim is predominantly bourgeoisie, while Gothenburg as a whole has a social democratic, socialist and environmentalist majority. This has caused some local tensions due to the strong liberal movement, and a strong local movement works to once again make Askim a separate municipality (kommun). Askim was traditionally inhabited by fishermen. It is now a predominantly upper-middle class area with golf clubs, yacht clubs, and large houses. The less expensive areas are popular with families with children due to a reputation for safety and good schools. The district of Askim is divided into smaller parts, including Askim, Hovås, Billdal and Skintebo. Beneath Askim lies many historical artifacts dating back to the Stone Age. Many worked pieces of rock show evidence of these times. It is on the Askim coast, a part of Kattegatt, and has a mountainous terrain. Most of the buildings, which comprise mainly privately owned homes, are concentrated along the coast. The people living here have a much higher income compared to other average citizens of both Gothenburg and Sweden. The football team is Askims IK, whose coach is the famous ex-player Pontus Kåmark, who played in the Sweden national team in 1994.

Korsvägen station is an railway station currently under construction in Gothenburg, Sweden. Designed to serve both commuter trains and regional trains as part of the West Link project, the station is named after the Korsvägen intersection, which has been a key tram stop since the 1880s and has served as a hub for trams heading in five directions since the early 2000s. Korsvägen station is expected to open in 2030, alongside Haga station following the completion of the entire West Link tunnel to Centralen station.

The Academy of Music and Drama (Swedish: Högskolan för scen och musik, abbreviated HSM) at the University of Gothenburg is a school for music, composition, opera singing, music staging, teaching of music and creative subjects in Gothenburg. It belongs to the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts. It was started in 2005. as a merger of the former departments of music, theater and opera at the university. The main campus building is Artisten in Gothenburg. The school also acts as a training center for orchestral music. The programme is called the Swedish National Orchestra Academy (SNOA) and was started by the then head Ingemar Henningsson after preparatory work with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra (Göteborgs Symfoniker). The two-year program organizes about 8 or 9 orchestral projects per academic year.

Slottsskogsvallen (Swedish: [ˈslɔ̂tːskuːɡsˌvalːɛn], "The Castle Forest Field") is a multi-use stadium in Gothenburg, Sweden. It is currently used mostly for football and athletics. It was the home ground of Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC till 2006. The stadium has a capacity of 8,480, and was built in 1923. It is considered one of the most beautiful arenas in Sweden. It hosted the second Women's World Games in 1926. The Swedish athlete Gunder Hägg started his record-breaking streak at Slotsskogsvallen in 1942. The annual half marathon race, Göteborgsvarvet, the world's largest half marathon race, finishes in the arena. The annual Göteborg Marathon starts and finishes in the arena.

2024 World Masters Athletics Championshipsis the 25th in a series of World Masters Athletics Outdoor Championships (WMAC) that will place in Gothenburg, Sweden from 13 to 25 August 2024. This Championships was originally scheduled for 2023, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The main venue is Slottsskogsvallen. Supplemental venues include Ullevi Stadium, Björlanda Athletics Center "invented thanks to the WMAC", Slottsskogen City Park for Road Walks, Half Marathon, and Cross Country, and House of Athletics for training and preparations. This Championships is organized by World Masters Athletics (WMA) in coordination with a Local Organising Committee (LOC). Details of this competition will be finalized following the 2023 General Assembly that will be held in Gothenburg. The WMA is the global governing body of the sport of athletics for athletes 35 years of age or older, setting rules for masters athletics competition.

1977 World Masters Athletics Championships is the second in a series of World Masters Athletics Outdoor Championships (called World Masters Championships or World Veterans Championships at the time) that took place in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 8 to 13 August 1977.The main venue was Slottsskogsvallen. : 1 : 46  Supplemental venues included Ullevi Stadium for 5K and 10K races, the former Gothenburg-Särö railroad route for Marathon, and the park around Björngårdsvillan for Cross Country and Road Walks. The Annedal Church (Swedish: Annedalskyrkan) is a church building in Annedal in Gothenburg, Sweden. Belonging to the Gothenburg Annedal Parish of the Church of Sweden, construction begun in 1908 and the church was opened on Thanksgiving Day, 25 September 1910 by bishop Edvard Herman Rodhe.

Frölundaborg is an indoor arena located in the Frölunda borough of Gothenburg, Sweden. Frölundaborg is primarily used as an indoor venue for ice hockey games. It has a capacity of 7,600 people. The attendance record is 10,244, set in 1970. It also has been used when the main arena, Scandinavium, has been scheduled for other activities. This has been the case several times for unplanned matches, such as when Frölunda HC played in the Swedish Championship finals. It also serves as a venue for handball events. The Frölundaborg, along with the Scandinavium, will be a venue hosting the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship in Gothenburg. It will host games in Pool B.
