It was opened by the Government of the State of São Paulo on April 6, 2018.

It is placed in Av. Prof. Luis Inácio de Anhaia Mello, next to Rua Camilo Haddad. Because of the small demand (about 5,000 passengers per day), this station would be named by the press as mini-station. It was opened by the Government of the State of São Paulo on April 6, 2018.

The name Aricanduva originated from one of the indigenous languages of Brazil known as Tupi and means "place where there are many palm trees of the airi species".

The station is located in the center of the city of São Caetano do Sul, in the ABC Region. In January 2015, the then-called São Caetano station was renamed to São Caetano do Sul-Prefeito Walter Braido.

Centro Comercial Aricanduva (English: Aricanduva Shopping Center), also known as Shopping Aricanduva (English: Aricanduva Mall), is the third largest shopping mall in Latin America behind the Albrook Mall in Panama, and Antea LifeStyle Center in Mexico, and one of the largest in the world. It has over 500 shops, 14 cinemas and 14,700 parking spaces. The mall has 425,000 m2 (4,570,000 sq ft) of built area, out of which 257,047 m2 (2,766,830 sq ft) is leasable space, making it the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere. The mall is located in the Aricanduva Avenue, district of Cidade Líder, São Paulo. Its slogan is "Gigante como São Paulo", which means "Gigantic like São Paulo." The mall is a complex that consists of Shopping Leste Aricanduva, Interlar Aricanduva (home decoration and construction stores) and Auto Shopping Aricanduva (automotive stores).

The Cemitério de Vila Formosa (Vila Formosa Cemetery) is a necropolis located in the East End district of Vila Formosa, in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. It is Latin America's largest cemetery.Created on May 20, 1949, (the first burials took place on August 26, 1949) the cemetery has an area of 780,000 square meters (about 192.74 acres), where more than 1.5 million people have been buried to date. It is a space used in particular for burials of poor people and those from the lower middle classes.Divided into two wings, each month it carries out an average of 275 burials. With eight rooms for open casket visitation, the Vila Formosa cemetery has three entrances. This cemetery occupies the fourth largest green area in São Paulo, only being smaller than Parque Anhangüera, Parque Ibirapuera and Parque do Carmo, thus representing an important green area for the areas east of São Paulo.
