2017 Gothenburg Synagogue attack

The Gothenburg Synagogue (Swedish: Göteborgs synagoga) at Stora Nygatan, near Drottningtorget, Gothenburg, Sweden, was opened in 1855 according to the designs of the German architect August Krüger. The congregation is Conservative. The synagogue sanctuary has 300 seats. Between 25 and 30% of the membership fees are used for security measures, as Jews risk attack from Middle Eastern, far-left and far-right extremists.The synagogue was firebombed on Saturday, 9 December 2017. Three migrant men were arrested. Prosecutor Stina Lundqvist said about 10 to 15 people may have attacked "in concert". The attack was condemned as antisemitic by mayor Ann-Sofie Hermansson. In the aftermath of the attack, the synagogue was visited by two cabinet ministers in a show of support from the highest political level.

The Garden Society of Gothenburg (Swedish: Trädgårdsföreningen) is a park and horticultural garden in central Gothenburg, Sweden. It is located next to Kungsportsavenyen. The park was founded in 1842 by King Carl XIV Johan, on initiative of the amateur botanist Henric Elof von Normann. In the park there is an acclaimed rose garden with some 4,000 roses of 1,900 species. The rose garden has been awarded stars in the Michelin Green Guide. There is also a 19th-century palm house, greenhouses, sculptures, a restaurant and cafés. It is one of the best preserved 19th century parks in Sweden.

Bältespännarparken (Swedish: [ˈbɛ̂ltɛˌspɛnːarpaɾkɛn], unofficially known as The Belt Bucklers Park) is the informal name for a section of Kungsparken in central Gothenburg, Sweden. It is located directly across from the Stora Teatern at the intersection of Kungsportsavenyen and the main entrance to the Garden Society of Gothenburg.

Kungsportsplatsen is a square in the city centre of Gothenburg, Sweden. The square was constructed in 1852 and got its name after the King's Gate (the name literally means, King's Gate Place). The gate was the main entrance to the fortified city, which was and still is surrounded by a moat. When the city grew outside the moat and there was no need to defend the city any longer the gate was torn down. At Kungsportsplatsen there is a statue of King Charles IX, which was placed there in 1936.

The Clarion Hotel Post is a hotel and conference facility at Drottningtorget in central Gothenburg, Sweden. Designed by Semrén & Månsson, the hotel was built in the former Posthuset (post office building) of Gothenburg, with the addition of a modern tower. It opened on 26 January 2012. The hotel is owned by the Swedish firm Home Properties, which is controlled by the Norwegian billionaire Petter Stordalen. It is operated by Nordic Choice Hotels (which is also owned by Stordalen) under the trademark Clarion Hotels. The hotel's main entrance is from Drottningtorget and the rear entrance is from Åkareplatsen. Clarion Hotel Post has 500 rooms including three suites, a large event room that can accommodate 1,000 people and 17 meeting rooms. There are three restaurants and bars, bistro, bar and grill and a rooftop pool with good views of the city. With a total area of 36,700 square meters the conversion and extension cost a total of 1.4 billion Swedish kronor.

The Kad pogledaš me preko ramena Tour is the worldwide concert tour by Serbian singer Zdravko Čolić, in support of his thirteenth studio album, Kad pogledas me preko ramena. It began on February 14, 2010, in Split, Croatia at the Spaladium Arena, but official start on July 31, 2010, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Hercegovina at the stadium Kosevo and is continuing throughout Canada and Europe. It will finish on December 31, 2013. The tour also includes some festival concerts.

It began on March 8, 2014, in Malmö, Sweden at the Amiralen and is continuing throughout Europe, Australia, USA and Canada. It will finish in December 2017 The tour also includes some festival concerts.

Gothenburg Central Station (Swedish: Göteborgs centralstation, Göteborg C) is the main railway station of Gothenburg and it is the oldest railway station in Sweden still in use. The station serves 27 million passengers per year, making it the second largest railway station in Sweden after Stockholm Central Station which it predates by 13 years. The station opened on October 4, 1858. The station is situated in the city of Gothenburg, right by Drottningtorget. Stora Teatern (popularly known as Storan) is a musical theater in the Lorensberg district of Gothenburg, Sweden. Inaugurated in 1859, it is situated in Kungsparken park south of Kungsportsplatsen.It was originally founded to replace the Segerlindska teatern, and as such was known as Nya Theatern ('New Theatre') until 1880. The thirty-meter-high theater was inaugurated on September 15, 1859. During the first 60 years, this was mainly a dramatic theater featuring opera and operetta. In 1916, Stora Teatern became primarily a lyrical theater.

Brunnsparken (Swedish for "well park") is a central square in Gothenburg, Sweden. It is located between Nordstan and Arkaden, and between two of Gothenburg's oldest streets, Norra Hamngatan and Södra Hamngatan (actually bordering Stora Hamnkanalen to the north). With its central location "Inom Vallgraven" and with numerous shopping centres it is a popular meeting place in Gothenburg.

Såningskvinnan (French: La Semeuse), meaning "the sowing woman", popularly known as Johanna i Brunnsparken, is a statue of a standing woman in Gothenburg, Sweden, sculpted by Per Hasselberg in 1883. The original gypsum version of the statue remains at the Medicinal history museum of Gothenburg. Såningskvinnan is thought of as the second oldest statue in Gothenburg and its first female statue.

The Avalon Hotel is a hotel at Kungsportsplatsen in Gothenburg, Sweden. It was nominated for the Kasper Salin Prize in 2007. It is part of Design Hotels AG.
