Beusselstraße is a Berlin S-Bahn station in the Moabit district in the Mitte borough of Berlin. It is located at the Beussel bridge, which carries the street of Beusselstrasse over the Berlin Ringbahn. It is served by the S-Bahn lines and . It is additionally served by the line on weekends.

Moabit (German: [moaˈbiːt] (listen)) is an inner city locality in the borough of Mitte, Berlin, Germany. As of 2016, around 77,000 people lived in Moabit. First inhabited in 1685 and incorporated into Berlin in 1861, the former industrial and working-class neighbourhood is fully surrounded by three watercourses, which define its present-day border. Between 1945 and 1990, Moabit was part of the British sector of West Berlin and directly bordered East Berlin. Until the administrative reform in 2001, Moabit was a part of the district of Tiergarten. Colloquially, the name Moabit also refers to the Central Criminal Court (Strafgericht) and detention centre, which deals with all criminal cases in Berlin and is based in Moabit.

The AEG turbine factory was built in 1909, at Huttenstraße 12–16 in the Berlin district of Moabit. It is the best-known work of architect Peter Behrens. The 100m long steel framed building with 15m tall glass windows on either side is considered the first attempt to introduce restrained modern design to industrial architecture. It was a bold move, and world first that would have a durable impact on architecture as a whole.

The Gesellschaft zur Verfolgung von Urheberrechtsverletzungen e.V. (GVU, Society for the Prosecution of Copyright Infringement) is a registered association under German law. According to its own description it works for the video game industry and film industry and helps to protect intellectual property and to counter the illegal distribution of copied materials. For this purpose, the association cooperates with the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA).The GVU was founded in the spring of 1984 and entered the register of associations in February 1985 for the first time. The headquarters were located first in Hamburg, since 2008 they have been in Berlin-Mitte. The GVU became known to a wider public by participating in campaigns such as "pirates are criminals“ and investigations in the Kino.to case.

The Westhafen (German for West Harbor) is Berlin's largest inland port, located in the district of Moabit. The Westhafen has an area of 430.000 square meters and it is divided into two parallel harbor basins. It is connected to the Spree and Havel rivers via the Westhafen Canal and the Berlin-Spandau Shipping Canal (known as the Hohenzollern Canal) and is thus integrated into the supraregional waterway network between the Elbe and Oder rivers. The Westhafen is a transhipment and storage site for inland shipping with a growing importance. For the onward transport of goods by rail, it is connected to the Berlin ring railroad, the Hamburg and Lehrter freight yards and the Moabit freight yard. Goods are transported in and out by truck via the A 100 city highway. The Westhafen and Beusselstraße train and U-Bahn stations provide public transportation. The Westhafen was founded in 1923, when the BEHALA (Berliner Hafen- und Lagerhaus AG) was founded as its operating company. On September 3 of the same year, a first section of the harbor was inaugurated. Some of the BEHALA buildings originating from 1920s have later been added to the list of Berlin monuments.

The Ibn Rushd-Goethe Mosque (German: Ibn-Rushd-Goethe-Moschee) is the only self-described liberal mosque in Germany. It was inaugurated in June 2017, and is named after medieval Andalusian-Arabic polymath Ibn Rushd and German writer and statesman Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The mosque was founded by Seyran Ateş, a German lawyer and Muslim feminist of Kurdish descent. The mosque is characterised as liberal; it bans face-covering, it allows women and men to pray together, and it accepts LGBT worshippers.

Plötzensee Prison (German: Justizvollzugsanstalt Plötzensee, JVA Plötzensee) is now a juvenile prison in the Charlottenburg-Nord locality of Berlin with a capacity for 577 prisoners, operated by the State of Berlin judicial administration. The detention centre established in 1868 has a long history; it became notorious during the Nazi era as one of the main sites of capital punishment, where about 3,000 inmates were executed. Famous inmates include East Germany's last communist leader Egon Krenz.

Birkenstraße is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the line. It was opened in 1961 by B. Grimmek. There are two entrances to the station, located at the Birkenstraße and Wilhelmshavenerstraße crossroad, on either side of the road. The station's walls are decorated with green tiles in reference to the station's name—the word birke is German for birch tree.

Plötzensee (German: [ˈplœtsənzeː] (listen)) is a small glacial lake in Berlin. It is situated in the former borough of Wedding, now a part of Mitte, adjacent to the public park Volkspark Rehberge. The name stems from Plötze, one name for the roach in German, as the lake formerly teemed with it. Plötzensee is part of a chain of lakes stretching from the northeast to the Spree valley, formed in the last ice age. Until 1443, the nunnery of St. Mary at Spandau had the rights to the lake, but these were eventually assumed by the Prussian treasury. In 1817, the city of Berlin bought the lake and leased the rights to the shoreline and fishing. The first public bath opened about 1850 and over the years, there have been an army sporting ground, a man-made beach (photo), an inn, and the conversion of the shore into a public park in the 1920s. Plötzensee also gives its name to Plötzensee Prison, built nearby in the 19th century, which reached its height of notoriety in the time of Nazi Germany.

Turmstraße is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the line. The station is located in fare zone A. It was opened on 28 August 1961, and designed by B. Grimmek. Turmstraße was originally built with an extra rail track under U5; it is no longer used due to technical issues.In the station list of the BVG the station bears the designation Tm. In the construction of the station, the possibility of interchange to line U5 has been taken into account. For this, a tunnel and platform was constructed but not used. To facilitate changing to buses, a central exit was subsequently built in the area of the U5 platform, which comes to the surface on the south side of Turmstraße. The train station is 675 meters from Birkenstraße and 919 meters from Hansaplatz. The station is under the Kleiner Tiergarten park between Turmstraße and Alt-Moabit. The costs amounted to 1.8 million euros. In the immediate vicinity of the underground station is the operating school underground of the BVG and the control center for monitoring and switching the driving current in the subway network.

The Charlottenburg Canal, or Charlottenburger Verbindungskanal in German, is a canal in Berlin, Germany. With a former length of 3.2 kilometres (2.0 mi), the canal was built between 1848 and 1859, and originally connected the River Spree, in Charlottenburg, with the Berlin-Spandau Ship Canal. The route of canal was north from the River Spree until it passed under the railway bridge carrying the Ringbahn, at which point it turned east along an alignment slightly to the south of that of the more recent Westhafen Canal. After the completion of the latter in 1956, the north–south aligned section of the Charlottenburg Canal was extended to form a right-angled junction with the Westhafen Canal, and the west to east aligned section was closed and filled in. The Berliner Großmarkt or Berlin Wholesale Market now covers the site of this section.The remaining 1.7-kilometre (1.1 mi) long canal still links the Westhafen Canal with the River Spree and the Landwehr Canal. It has no locks.The waterways crossroad at the southern end of the Charlottenburg Canal, where it meets both the River Spree and the Landwehr Canal, is known as Spreekreuz. Adjoining the canal near Spreekreuz is a police station of the Berlin Wasserschutzpolizei (water police).

Turmstraße (Tower street) is a main street in the Berlin district of Moabit. The street runs along the "Kleiner Tiergarten" park, and past the Moabit courthouse. Turmstraße is also the name of an U-Bahn stop on the U9. Moabit Courthouse and Moabit Hospital are located over here, as shown in the images on the right.
