Centralen is a railway station under construction in Gothenburg, Sweden, expected to open in 2026 as part of the West Link tunnel. It adjacent to Gothenburg Central Station and Nils Ericson Terminal bus station.

The Nils Ericson Terminal is a major bus terminus in Gothenburg, Sweden. It is placed in the city center just next to Gothenburg Central Station (Centralstationen), and across the street from the main Nordstan shopping center. The main street and most hotels are within walking distance from the terminal. The terminal serves many parts of the Västra Götaland County with bus traffic (although many regional destinations are primarily served by regional trains). Bus companies such as Flixbus, Bus4You, Nettbuss express, Swebus Express and Eurolines serve destinations such as Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen. With bus changes, a lot of destinations can be reached. The bus terminal uses the modern system where buses arrive at gates, and the passengers enter the buses directly from the air-conditioned terminal, much like in modern airports. There are 18 gates indoors (numbered 21-38). There are also 11 gates outdoors with simple shelters (39-49). The terminal is named after Nils Ericson, a Swedish inventor and mechanical engineer, and brother to John Ericsson. The terminal was designed by the Norwegian architect, Nils Torp, and received the national Kasper Salin Prize in 1996.

Gothenburg Central Station (Swedish: Göteborgs centralstation, Göteborg C) is the main railway station of Gothenburg and it is the oldest railway station in Sweden still in use. The station serves 27 million passengers per year, making it the second largest railway station in Sweden after Stockholm Central Station which it predates by 13 years. The station opened on October 4, 1858. The station is situated in the city of Gothenburg, right by Drottningtorget. The Gothenburg Central Station, Centralhuset and Nils Ericson Terminalen are a part of Resecentrum, Göteborg. Gothenburg Central Station is owned and administered by Jernhusen.

Bältespännarparken (Swedish: [ˈbɛ̂ltɛˌspɛnːarpaɾkɛn], unofficially known as The Belt Bucklers Park) is the informal name for a section of Kungsparken in central Gothenburg, Sweden. It is located directly across from the Stora Teatern at the intersection of Kungsportsavenyen and the main entrance to the Garden Society of Gothenburg.

The Clarion Hotel Post is a hotel and conference facility at Drottningtorget in central Gothenburg, Sweden. Designed by Semrén & Månsson, the hotel was built in the former Posthuset (post office building) of Gothenburg, with the addition of a modern tower. It opened on 26 January 2012. The hotel is owned by the Swedish firm Home Properties, which is controlled by the Norwegian billionaire Petter Stordalen. It is operated by Nordic Choice Hotels (which is also owned by Stordalen) under the trademark Clarion Hotels. The hotel's main entrance is from Drottningtorget and the rear entrance is from Åkareplatsen. Clarion Hotel Post has 500 rooms including three suites, a large event room that can accommodate 1,000 people and 17 meeting rooms. There are three restaurants and bars, bistro, bar and grill and a rooftop pool with good views of the city. With a total area of 36,700 square meters the conversion and extension cost a total of 1.4 billion Swedish kronor.

The Lilla Bommen (Building) named after the surrounding location of Lilla Bommen, commonly referred to as Läppstiftet (The Lipstick), is an 86m (282 ft), 22 floor building housing office, networking and restaurant spaces in Gothenburg, Sweden. The building’s distinct post-modern architectural style, popularly referred to as “The Lipstick” due to its distinctive red and white colour schematic, was erected on the banks of Göta River in 1989 by Skanska Property West AB. The 32000 sqm office space which houses over 900 office workers, is a popular tourist destination for its top-floor lookout, Götheborgs Utkiken and restaurants such as the Restuarang Läppstiftet, has contributed to the landmark status of the building in the Central Gothenburg skyline.The waterways of the area which link to the Kattegat Strait, the North Sea and the Atlantic, which historically formed Gothenburg into a significant shipping centre as Sweden’s principal seaport. The historical boom-arms dating from the 1600s which protected the important trading routes of the area, are tied into the name Lilla Bommen, (Little Boom in English), are all aspects that tied into the Swedish-British designer Ralph Erskine’s desire to embody the history and “improve human relations” to the area through his design of the Läppstiftet.The design of the Lilla Bommen faced early negative response by the Swedish public, contributed in large part by traditional European architectural styles that generally disincentivised multi-storey office building designs and tall skyscrapers in European cityscapes. Furthermore, additional difficulties arose in the design and construction process due to the unstable foundation and location of the structure placed alongside waterways. The use of piling construction was a prominent feature of the new project that was used to support the heavy loads to overcome the issues regarding inundation and ground settlement of the waterfront location.

Nordstan is a shopping centre in Gothenburg, Sweden. It is the largest shopping centre in Sweden in terms of revenue, and with approximately 180 shops and 150 offices. The shopping centre's total area is about 320,000 m2 (3,400,000 sq ft) divided into nine interconnected buildings, where retail and restaurant floor space makes up around 70,000 m2 (750,000 sq ft). The covered streets and squares comprise 8,000 m2 (86,000 sq ft). The companies housed in Nordstan employ approximately six thousand people and the total annual turnover was SEK 4.1 billion in 2013. The main passageways in the centre are public spaces and therefore are open for use after shops have closed. The character of the centre changes after closing time of the shops. The presence of adults is drastically reduced and the premises become a hangout for youth.

Hisingsbron (the Hisingen Bridge) is a vertical-lift bridge in central Gothenburg, Sweden, connecting the island of Hisingen to the mainland. The bridge was constructed between 2017 and 2021, replacing the Götaälvbro, and was inaugurated on 5 September 2021 by King Carl XVI Gustaf.

The Götatunneln (Göta Tunnel) is a road tunnel between Järntorget and Lilla Bommen in central Gothenburg, Sweden. It is 1,600 metres (5,200 ft) long.Construction began 2000 and it was opened for traffic June 2006. The tunnel is separated in two tubes, each carrying three lanes of traffic. The cost including road connection was 3 billion SEK. The tunnel has made it possible for the city of Gothenburg to build new apartments and restaurants just by the waterfront of the southern shore of Göta älv, which was cut off by the E45 road before.

The Gothenburg Synagogue (Swedish: Göteborgs synagoga) at Stora Nygatan, near Drottningtorget, Gothenburg, Sweden, was opened in 1855 according to the designs of the German architect August Krüger. The congregation is Conservative. The synagogue sanctuary has 300 seats. Between 25 and 30% of the membership fees are used for security measures, as Jews risk attack from Middle Eastern, far-left and far-right extremists.The synagogue was firebombed on Saturday, 9 December 2017. Three migrant men were arrested. Prosecutor Stina Lundqvist said about 10 to 15 people may have attacked "in concert". The attack was condemned as antisemitic by mayor Ann-Sofie Hermansson. In the aftermath of the attack, the synagogue was visited by two cabinet ministers in a show of support from the highest political level.

The 2017 Gothenburg Synagogue attack took place on 9 December 2017 when individuals in a large gang threw firebombs at the synagogue in Gothenburg, which hosted an event with about 40 youth inside. The people inside fled to the basement but nobody was hurt. The incendiaries started a fire among the parked vehicles in the yard but the building did not catch fire. Of the about ten masked individuals at the scene, two stateless Palestinians and one Syrian could later be identified and they were sentenced to jail for having committed a hate crime.

Götaälvbron (Göta älv Bridge) was a bascule bridge in central Gothenburg, Sweden, carrying normal road vehicles and trams. The bridge was constructed in 1937 to 1939 and in 1966 it was widened. It was closed for decommissioning in June 2021. Constructed of steel beam, the bridge had a total length of 927 m (3,041 ft) and width of 20 m (66 ft). The mid span had a free height of 19.5 m (64 ft).
