The ICE Hockey League (International Central European Hockey League, ICEHL), known as the win2day ICE Hockey League for sponsorship reasons, is a Central European hockey league that also serves as the top-tier ice hockey league in Austria. It currently features additional teams from Hungary, Italy, and Slovenia. The league was known as the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga (EBEL) from 2003 until 2020 and as the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League during the 2021–22 season.Until 2005–06, the league consisted solely of Austrian teams. Since then, the league has added teams from Slovenia (from 2006 to 2017 and from 2021 onwards), Hungary (starting 2007–08), Croatia (from 2009–10 through 2012–13, and again from 2017–18 through 2018–19), the Czech Republic (starting in 2011–12 through 2019–20 and again from 2021-22 onwards), Italy (starting in 2013–14), and Slovakia (starting in 2020–21 through the start of 2021–22). The non-Austrian teams are competing for the "League Champion" title. Only Austrian teams in this league are additionally eligible for the "Austrian Champion" title. The league has had different sponsors, and the current naming rights have been held by win2day.at since 2022. Teams from the ICEHL participate in the IIHF's annual Champions Hockey League (CHL), competing for the European Trophy. Participation is based on the strength of the various leagues in Europe (excluding the European/Asian Kontinental Hockey League). Going into the 2022–23 CHL season, the ICEHL was ranked the No. 6 league in Europe, allowing them to send their top three teams to compete in the CHL.

The Liebenauer Stadium, sponsored as the Merkur-Arena (formerly known as the Arnold Schwarzenegger Stadium and UPC-Arena), is in the Liebenau area of Graz, Styria, Austria. The ground is the home of the football clubs SK Sturm Graz and Grazer AK.

Liebenau (German: [ˈliːbεnaʊ̯]) is the 7th District of the Austrian city of Graz. The district is located in the southeastern part of the city. It is bordered to the north by the 6th District, Jakomini, and on the east by the 8th district, St. Peter. In Liebenau, farms still exist alongside the shopping centres and largescale industrial holdings, including the Magna Steyr car plant.

Jakomini (German pronunciation: [jakoˈmiːni] ) is the 6th district of Austrian city of Graz. It is named after Kaspar Andreas Ritter von Jacomini and covers an area of 4,06 square kilometers. With a population of 31,412 in 2023 it is the most populous of the districts of Graz. The postal codes of Jakomini are 8010, 8041 and 8042.

The Institute for Applied Information Processing and Communications (IAIK) is part of the Faculty of Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering at the Graz University of Technology (TU Graz). IAIK is concerned with aspects of computer security and information security. Current focal points are set on design of new cryptographic algorithms, implementation of cryptographic algorithms and protocols in hardware as well as in software, network security, e-Government, and trusted computing. IAIK conducts applied research into these areas, fostering a holistic view of the aspects of computer and information security. Teaching activities closely follow the latest developments in IAIK’s research fields. The activities of IAIK are led by Stefan Mangard after Reinhard Posch abdicated in 2019. Stadthalle Graz (also known as Graz Messe Arena) is a multi-functional event hall located in Jakomini, a district of Graz, in Austria. Opened in October 2002, the hall is connected to and part of the municipal's fair building complex, Messe Congress Graz. The facility, the largest in Graz, is used to organize various events, including congresses, TV shows, concerts and sport.

The Austrian Centre of Industrial Biotechnology (ACIB) is an international research institution for industrial biotechnology. Research facilities are located in Graz, Linz, Innsbruck, Tulln and Vienna. The administrative headquarters are located in Graz.

St. Peter (German: [saŋkt ˈpeːtɐ]) is the 8th District of Graz, in Styria, Austria. Its area is 8.86 km2. Its population is 16.629 (1. Jänner 2023). It was formed in 1938 from the villages of Messendorf, Neufeld, Peterstal and Petersbergen.

Graz University of Technology (German: Technische Universität Graz, short TU Graz) is a public research university located in Styria, Austria. It was founded in 1811 by Archduke John of Austria and is the oldest science and technology research and educational institute in Austria. It currently comprises seven faculties and is a public university. It offers 19 bachelor's and 35 master's study programmes (of which 19 are in English) across all technology and natural sciences disciplines. Doctoral training is organised in 14 English-speaking doctoral schools. The university has more than 16,000 students, and around 1,800 students graduate every year. The Graz University of Technology and the University of Graz co-operate in teaching and research of natural sciences.The university has a staff of 3,852. Research areas are combined in five fields of expertise. The Herz-Jesu-Kirche (English: Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus) is the largest church in Graz, Austria. It was designed down to the last detail by architect Georg Hauberrisser and constructed from 1881 to 1887. The church was designed in the Neogothic style, with a large, high nave and under-church. The tower is 109.6 meters tall, making it the third-highest church tower in Austria. Of special note are the stained glass windows, which are among the few extant examples in Austria of Neogothic stained glass. The altar area was remodelled in 1988 by Gustav Troger, just after the centenary of the church. Apart from that, everything is still according to the architect's concept.

St. Leonhard (German: [saŋkt ˈleːonhaʁt], in Germany [z-]) is the 2nd district of the Austrian city of Graz. It is located in the east of the city along the Leonhardbach and stretches south to the St. Peter City Cemetery. It borders the district of Geidorf to the north, Ries and Waltendorf to the east, Jakomini to the south and Innere Stadt to the west. The postal codes of Ries are 8010 and 8016. Within the district are situated the catholic churches of St. Leonhard (first mentioned in 1361) and Herz Jesu (Jesus heart - finished 1887), as well as the Protestant church Heilandskirche.

Waltendorf (German: [ˈvaltn̩ˌdɔɐ̯f] is the 9th district of the Austrian city of Graz. It borders the districts of Ries to the north, St. Peter to the south and St. Leonhard mostly to the west. It had a population of 12.158 (January 2023) and covers an area of 4.48 square kilometres. The postal codes of Waltendorf are 8010, 8042 und 8047. There are two small castles in the district the 'Schloss Lustbühel' and the 'Hallerschloss', as well as a church the 'Rupertikirche' in 'Hohenrain'. Within the north of the district, next to the Ragnitz brook, there is one of the largest collection of high-risers in Graz, called 'Berliner Ring'. Some of the high risers have the solar water heating systems on their roof tops.
