Waltendorf

St. Peter (German: [saŋkt ˈpeːtɐ]) is the 8th District of Graz, in Styria, Austria. Its area is 8.86 km2. Its population is 16.629 (1. Jänner 2023). It was formed in 1938 from the villages of Messendorf, Neufeld, Peterstal and Petersbergen.

The Herz-Jesu-Kirche (English: Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus) is the largest church in Graz, Austria. It was designed down to the last detail by architect Georg Hauberrisser and constructed from 1881 to 1887. The church was designed in the Neogothic style, with a large, high nave and under-church. The tower is 109.6 meters tall, making it the third-highest church tower in Austria. Of special note are the stained glass windows, which are among the few extant examples in Austria of Neogothic stained glass. The altar area was remodelled in 1988 by Gustav Troger, just after the centenary of the church. Apart from that, everything is still according to the architect's concept.

The Institute for Applied Information Processing and Communications (IAIK) is part of the Faculty of Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering at the Graz University of Technology (TU Graz). IAIK is concerned with aspects of computer security and information security. Current focal points are set on design of new cryptographic algorithms, implementation of cryptographic algorithms and protocols in hardware as well as in software, network security, e-Government, and trusted computing. IAIK conducts applied research into these areas, fostering a holistic view of the aspects of computer and information security. Teaching activities closely follow the latest developments in IAIK’s research fields. The activities of IAIK are led by Stefan Mangard after Reinhard Posch abdicated in 2019. St. Leonhard (German: [saŋkt ˈleːonhaʁt], in Germany [z-]) is the 2nd district of the Austrian city of Graz. It is located in the east of the city along the Leonhardbach and stretches south to the St. Peter City Cemetery. It borders the district of Geidorf to the north, Ries and Waltendorf to the east, Jakomini to the south and Innere Stadt to the west. The postal codes of Ries are 8010 and 8016. Within the district are situated the catholic churches of St. Leonhard (first mentioned in 1361) and Herz Jesu (Jesus heart - finished 1887), as well as the Protestant church Heilandskirche.

Graz University of Technology (German: Technische Universität Graz, short TU Graz) is a public research university located in Styria, Austria. It was founded in 1811 by Archduke John of Austria and is the oldest science and technology research and educational institute in Austria. It currently comprises seven faculties and is a public university. It offers 19 bachelor's and 35 master's study programmes (of which 19 are in English) across all technology and natural sciences disciplines. Doctoral training is organised in 14 English-speaking doctoral schools. The university has more than 16,000 students, and around 1,800 students graduate every year. The Graz University of Technology and the University of Graz co-operate in teaching and research of natural sciences.The university has a staff of 3,852. Research areas are combined in five fields of expertise. TU Graz, the University of Leoben and TU Wien form the network Austrian Universities of Technology (TU Austria) with more than 43,000 students and 10,000 staff.

The University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, also known as Kunstuniversität Graz (KUG) is an Austrian university. Its roots can be traced back to the music school of the Akademischer Musikverein founded in 1816, making it the oldest university of music in Austria.

The Palais Meran is a palace in Graz, Styria, Austria. Built as a residence for Archduke John of Austria in 1843, it now serves as the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, surrounded by a public park.

The Medical University of Graz (Med Uni Graz) is a medical university in Austria that has been in existence since January 1, 2004, and has been a part of the Karl-Franzens University of Graz as a medical faculty since 1863.
