Scotch Irish Township is one of fourteen townships in Rowan County, North Carolina, United States. The township had a population of 1,820 according to the 2010 census. By the requirements of the North Carolina Constitution of 1868, all counties in North Carolina were divided into townships.Geographically, Scotch Irish Township occupies 35.22 square miles (91.2 km2) in northwestern Rowan County. There are no incorporated municipalities in Scotch Irish Township. The township's northern boundary is the South Yadkin River and borders with Davie County and its western border is with Cool Springs Township, Iredell County. Residents are served by the Rowan–Salisbury School System.

R.A. Clement School is a historic school located at Cleveland, Rowan County, North Carolina. The H-shaped brick building was built in 1929 as a Rosenwald school. Rufus Alexander Clement, born a slave in 1847, helped to get the school built along with his wife Emma. Four teachers taught African-American students in eleven grades. For the twelfth grade students went to J. C. Price High School in Salisbury. The school closed in 1968, after which a group later known as West Rowan Neighborhood Center Advisory Council bought the building and made it a community center. Eventually, the advisory council could not keep the property, which stood empty until 2003 when the alumni association purchased it and started renovations.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places January 10, 2019.

Christ Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church complex located near Cleveland, Rowan County, North Carolina, USA. The complex includes the 1826-1827 gable-front vernacular Gothic Revival- and American Craftsman-style brick veneered, heavy timber frame chapel; a 1926 Craftsman-style parish house attached to the original building by an open brick arcaded breezeway; and a historic cemetery.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

It was built about 1880, and is a two-story weatherboarded frame farmhouse with Italianate-style finish. It has a projecting center, entrance bay, and a nearly full-facade porch. Also on the property is the contributing large bell-cast gambrel roof barn dated to the 1930s.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

The Jacob Barber House was built about 1855, and is a two-story, single-pile, three-bay vernacular Greek Revival style frame dwelling. It has a one-story rear ell and a one-story shed roofed rear porch. Its builder James Graham also built the Robert Knox House and the Hall Family House. The Jacob Phifer House was built in the 1850s, and is a two-story, rectangular, weatherboarded log dwelling. The oldest building is the John Phifer House, built about 1819, and is a small two-story log dwelling. Other contributing resources are the double-pen log barn (c. 1858), tool shed (1930s), garage (1920s / 1930s), granary and corn crib (c. 1858), spring house (c. 1930), blacksmith shop (c. 1925), two chicken houses (1930s, c. 1940), log chicken coop (1930s), wood shed (c. 1930), smokehouse (c. 1858), privy (c. 1930), scalding vat (c. 1935), log tobacco barn (c. 1895), and the farm landscape.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
