Nether Worton

Worton is a civil parish in the West Oxfordshire district about 7 miles (11 km) south of Banbury, England. It was formed in 1932 by the merger of the parishes of Nether Worton and Over Worton, each of which is a small village. The main road between Deddington and Swerford is the parish's northern boundary. It was a turnpike road and is now the B4031. From there the parish extends 4 miles (6.4 km) to Worton Wood on its southern boundary. East–west the parish is nowhere more than 1+3⁄4 miles (3 km) wide. The 2011 Census recorded the population of Worton parish as 624.

Over Worton is a hamlet in the civil parish of Worton, in the West Oxfordshire district, in the county of Oxfordshire, England, about 7 miles (11 km) south of Banbury and 7+1⁄2 miles (12 km) east of Chipping Norton. In 1931 the parish had a population of 72. On 1 April 1932 the parish was abolished and merged with Nether Worton to form "Worton".

Sandford St Martin is a village and civil parish in West Oxfordshire about 7 miles (11 km) east of Chipping Norton and about 12 miles (19 km) south of Banbury. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population as 209.

Barford St Michael is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Barford St. John and St. Michael, in the Cherwell district, in the county of Oxfordshire, England. It is on the south bank of the River Swere, about 5 miles (8 km) south of Banbury.

Westcott Barton, also spelt Wescot Barton or Wescote Barton, is a village and civil parish on the River Dorn in West Oxfordshire about 7 miles (11 km) east of Chipping Norton and about 9+1⁄2 miles (15 km) south of Banbury, in the county of Oxfordshire, England. The parish is bounded to the north by Cockley Brook, a tributary of the River Dorn. A minor road to Kiddington forms part of the eastern boundary, another minor road forms part of the western boundary and the remainder of the parish boundaries are field boundaries. Westcott Barton's main area of housing is on the eastern boundary of the parish and contiguous with the village of Middle Barton in the neighbouring parish of Steeple Barton. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population as 244.

Hempton is a village in Deddington civil parish about 5 miles (8 km) south of Banbury in Oxfordshire. Hempton is on the B4031 road between Deddington and Chipping Norton, which was a turnpike from 1770 until 1871.

Woodworm Records was a record label created in 1979 to enable the British folk-rock band Fairport Convention to release their album Farewell, Farewell. The album was a recording of performances taken from the band's 1979 farewell tour. The impending break-up of the band had followed medical advice given to fiddle-player Dave Swarbrick to save his hearing by playing no more amplified music. As there was no record label willing to release the recording, bass guitarist Dave Pegg and his wife Christine formed their own label to release the album. Woodworm Records soon grew and released albums by Fairport and other artists such as Dave Swarbrick and Steve Ashley. During 2004 the Peggs were divorced, resulting in the sale of studio. The record label was thus put on hold. Members of Fairport Convention decided to form the new label Matty Grooves Records to continue the work of Woodworm Records. Associated with the label, and especially with Fairport Convention in recent years, are Woodworm Recording Studios, situated at Barford St. Michael in Oxfordshire, where other artists, including Jethro Tull and Richard Thompson, have also recorded.

Barford St John and St Michael is a civil parish in the Cherwell district of Oxfordshire, England. It includes the adjacent villages of Barford St. Michael and Barford St. John, which stand either side of the River Swere. At the 2011 census the parish had a population of 549 mainly clustered into the two nucleated villages surrounded by green fields and woodland. The total parish area is 7.48 km2 .

In the Middle Ages it was sometimes called Little Barford or North Barford to distinguish it from the larger village of Barford St. Michael on the opposite bank of the Swere. The church is one of only 15 in England dedicated to St Peter ad Vincula ("St Peter in Chains"), after the basilica of San Pietro in Vincoli in Rome.

Duns Tew is an English village and civil parish about 7+1⁄2 miles (12 km) south of Banbury in Oxfordshire. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population as 478. With nearby Great Tew and Little Tew, Duns Tew is one of the three villages known collectively as "The Tews". A 'tew' is believed to be an ancient term for a ridge of land.

South Newington is a village and civil parish on the south bank of the River Swere in the Cotswold Hills in Oxfordshire, England, about 5 miles (8 km) southwest of Banbury. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population as 285.
