The Zimmerman House is a historic home located in Glenn Springs Historic District at Glenn Springs, Spartanburg County, South Carolina, United States. The home was constructed from 1852 to 1854 as the plantation house of John Conrad Zimmerman, a local entrepreneur. The home consists of a two-story frame house in a U-shaped plan. On the west and north sides, there are two-tier porticos with stuccoed doric columns on each tier. There is also a brick wellhouse with stuccoed brick arches, and a barn with a granite cornerstone.

Glenn Springs Historic District is a national historic district located at Glenn Springs, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. It encompasses 18 contributing buildings and 3 contributing sites in the historic health resort of Glenn Springs. The community developed as a resort around the mineral springs between about 1840 and 1940. The district includes several residences, two boarding houses, Cates House Ruins, Calvary Protestant Episcopal Church, Presbyterian Church, Cates Store, Glenn Springs Post Office, a pavilion, a cemetery, and the site of the Glenn Springs Hotel. It includes notable buildings in the Greek Revival, Gothic Revival, Queen Anne, and Bungalow styles.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The community took the name "Pauline" when they were to name a post office and the name "Stribling" was already taken; "Pauline" was the first name of the postmaster's daughter at the time. Golightly-Dean House is a historic home located near Spartanburg, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. The oldest section dates before 1784. It is the one-story, double-pen, masonry wing. About 1830, the two-story, brick portion of the house was added. Following an 1884 tornado, further modifications were made to the dwelling. Located on the property are a contributing log smokehouse and a log shed.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The 2020 census lists a population of 2,110.The CDP is in eastern Spartanburg County and is bordered to the north by Ben Avon. South Carolina Highway 295 (Southport Road) forms the northern border of the CDP; Spartanburg is 5 miles (8 km) to the northwest, and Pacolet is 7 miles (11 km) to the east. The Creek Golf Club is in the center of the community, and Kelsey Creek, a south-flowing tributary of Fairforest Creek and part of the Tyger River watershed, forms the southwest boundary. Croft State Park borders the community to the south.

The South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind is a school in unincorporated Spartanburg County, South Carolina, United States, near Spartanburg and with a Spartanburg postal address. It was founded in 1849 by the Reverend Newton Pinckney Walker as a private school for students who were deaf. The School for the Blind was established in 1855, and the school became state funded in 1856.Previously students were under de jure educational segregation in the United States with black students separate. In 1967 the school racially integrated.The School for the Multihandicapped was established in 1977, and the school began providing outreach services in the mid-1980s.
