Haggerston is a locale in East London, England, centred approximately on Great Cambridge Street (now renamed Queensbridge Road). It is within the London Borough of Hackney and is considered to be a part of London's East End. It is about 3.1 miles (5 km) northeast of Charing Cross. The adjacent neighbourhoods are Dalston (to the north), Hoxton (to the west) and Bethnal Green (to the south east). Haggerston historically formed part of Shoreditch borough, and was divided into the following ecclesiastical parishes: All Saints, St Chad, St Columba, St Mary, St Paul, St Augustine, and St Stephen.In 1965, the Metropolitan Borough of Shoreditch became part of the new London Borough of Hackney. There is an electoral ward called Haggerston within the borough. In the 1990s a number of the area's more rundown housing estates were refurbished and some disused public buildings were privately converted into gated communities. In 2010, Haggerston Railway station re-opened, a little to the north of the original station.

The Museum of the Home, formerly the Geffrye Museum, is a museum in the 18th-century Grade I-listed former almshouses on Kingsland Road in Shoreditch, London. The museum explores home and home life from 1600 to the present day with galleries which ask questions about 'home', present diverse lived experiences, and examine the psychological and emotional relationships people have with the idea of 'home' alongside a series of period room displays.In 2018 the museum had about 120,000 visitors before then closing for two and a half years, during which an extensive refurbishment and building programme took place.The Museum reopened as the Museum of the Home in Summer 2021 with a mission to reveal and rethink the ways we live, in order to live better together, and with 80 per cent more exhibition space for its collections and 50 per cent more public space. The Museum of the Home now has new basement galleries (The Home Galleries), a cafe, learning pavilion, collections and reference libraries, several events spaces, and replanted gardens.

The Suleymaniye Mosque (Turkish: Süleymaniye Camii) is a mosque at Kingsland Road in Haggerston, East London, United Kingdom, which serves the entire Muslim community as well as the Turkish speaking community. The mosque was funded by the UK Turkish Islamic Cultural Centre (UKTICC) and the construction began in 1994 and was finally opened to the public in October 1999. With a total floor space of 8,000 square metres, the total capacity of its Ottoman style mosque is 3,000 people. The mosque includes a conference and wedding hall, classrooms, funeral service facilities as well as accommodation for Marathon School students. The minaret reaches a height of 66 metres (218 ft), the highest in Great Britain. Suleymaniye Mosque has become something of a local landmark and it is one of London's key Islamic centres.Prince Charles visited the mosque in 2001.

Kingsland Viaduct is a railway viaduct about 2 miles (3 km) in length, almost wholly within the present London Borough of Hackney in the north-east part of Inner London. It was built in the 1860s, but was disused from 1986 until it was reopened to carry the London Overground in 2010. The viaduct is owned by Transport for London. Since then it has carried East London Line services between Shoreditch High Street and Dalston.

Hoxton is a station on the East London line in the London Borough of Hackney, Greater London. It is on the Kingsland Viaduct and served by London Overground. The station entrance is on Geffrye Street near Dunloe Street and Cremer Street, behind the Museum of the Home.The station was officially opened on 27 April 2010, initially with week-day services running between Dalston Junction and New Cross or New Cross Gate. On 23 May 2010 services were extended from New Cross Gate to West Croydon or Crystal Palace.

The Trew Era Café is a non-profit coffeehouse established in March 2015 in Hackney, East London. The café, opened by comedian and activist Russell Brand, was funded by profits from his 2014 book, Revolution.The café name and logo come from its location on the New Era estate and from Brand's web series, The Trews. In September 2016, Brand donated the cafe to The Rehabilitation for Addicted Prisoners Trust (RAPT) whose London Recovery Hub is located next door to the Trew Era Cafe.

The Hackney SPACe Sports Centre ("Sport and Performing Arts Centre") is a leisure centre in Hoxton in London Borough of Hackney, England. It is part of Hackney Community College and was opened in February 2001 following grants from Sport England with the intention that it would become the venue for Centres of Excellence in basketball, netball and cricket. The centre's main hall (dedicated to Malcolm Williams, whose work and vision were instrumental in getting SPACe built) can accommodate a range of indoor sports, and was the home venue in 2006/07 for the professional basketball team London United, who moved there from Brunel University in 2006. SPACe is also home to Hackney Community College Basketball Academy and Cricket Academy programmes. It is also home to many basketball teams that play in the London Metropolitan Basketball League (LMBL), the largest regional basketball league in the UK. SPACe has a gym and weights facility housing Olympic free weights and CV equipment as well as three dance studios. One of these has been named after Margaret Shepherd, who taught performing arts at the nearby Hoxton Hall. The main hall has tiered seating for around 600 people. SPACe is managed by Lee Perkins who was instrumental in the sporting development of the centre.

The Hackney Community College's Basketball Academy is a basketball programme located in the London Borough of Hackney in the United Kingdom. It was originally designed to engage young people vulnerable to exclusion from education to gain qualifications through engagement with a sport in which they demonstrated talent and potential.

Hoxton Hall is a performance arts theatre and community centre in the Hoxton area of Shoreditch, at 130 Hoxton Street, in the London Borough of Hackney. A grade II* listed building, the theatre was first built as a Music hall in 1863, as MacDonald's Music hall. It is an unrestored example of the saloon-style. In the theatre, an iron-railed, two tier galleried auditorium rises on three sides, supported on cast iron columns, above a small, high, multi-tiered stage. It survives, largely in its original form, as for many years it was used as a Quaker meeting house. The music hall lost its performance licence in 1871, due to complaints by the police; it was sold, and the new owners applied for a licence in 1876, but were again rejected. William Isaac Palmer (1824–1893) purchased it on behalf of the Blue Ribbon Gospel Temperance Mission in 1879. Palmer was an heir to the Huntley and Palmer biscuit family and spent much of his fortune on charity. On Palmer's death, the hall passed to the Bedford Institute, a Quaker organisation dedicated to running adult schools and alleviating the results of poverty. Today, the hall is used as a community centre and performance space.

Haggerston is a ward in the London Borough of Hackney and forms part of the Hackney South and Shoreditch constituency. It roughly aligns with the core area of the neighborhood of Haggerston.

Hackney University Technical College was a university technical college (UTC) that opened in September 2012 in the Shoreditch area of the London Borough of Hackney in Greater London, England. The University of East London and Hackney College were the lead academic sponsors of the UTC, and BT Group and Homerton University Hospital NHS Trust were the lead business sponsors. The college closed in August 2015.

Kingsland Basin is a canal basin in the De Beauvoir Town area of the London Borough of Hackney. The basin, which is also known as Kingsland Road Basin, dates from 1822 and is part of the Regents Canal. The area is the site of numerous housing redevelopments.
