Xochimilco Ecological Park and Plant Market is a natural reserve or park, with a 13-hectare (32-acre) plant market, the largest in Latin America. The park and market are located in the southern Mexico City borough of Xochimilco, about 23 km south of the historic center of the city. The park was designed by Mario Schjetnan. The park was inaugurated in 1993, on chinampas (artificial lake islands) which had been previously declared as part of a World Heritage Site. However, the area's ecology was badly degraded, and the park was established in order to revitalize and preserve the ecosystem. Success has been mixed. While much of the wetlands have been recharged, pollution and illegal settlements in the area remain as threats. As the park needs to be self-sustaining economically, there are a number of ways that the park raises money. One of the best known of these is the Xochimilco or Cuemanco Plant Market, which rents stalls to ornamental plant producers/sellers near the main entrance of the park.

Lake Xochimilco (Spanish pronunciation: [sotʃiˈmilko]; Nahuatl languages: Xōchimīlco, pronounced [ʃoːtʃiˈmiːlko] listen ) is an ancient endorheic lake, located in the present-day Borough of Xochimilco in southern Mexico City. The lake is within the Valley of Mexico hydrological basin, in central Mexico.

UAM Xochimilco is one of the five academic units of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana in Mexico City. UAM Xochimilco is located in the southern portion of the city and was founded on November 11, 1974. It offers 18 undergraduate degrees.

San Bernardino de Siena Church is the parish church of the borough of Xochimilco in Mexico City. The church and former monastery complex was built in the 16th century over a former pre Hispanic temple as part of evangelization efforts after the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire. Since its construction, it has been the center of much of Xochimilco’s history and social life, including ceremonies related to is famous image of the Child Jesus called the Niñopa. The interior of the church contains a rare 16th-century altarpiece in Plateresque style with no columns or other such supports. The only other altarpiece like it is in Huejotzingo, Puebla.

The Niñopa or Niñopan is the most venerated image of the Child Jesus in the Mexico City borough of Xochimilco. It was created over 430 years ago in the San Bernardino monastery, as part of evangelization efforts. Since then it has been in the possession of the community. Rather than being kept in the parish church it is in the custody of a sponsor or mayordomo, whose family is in charge of the many festivities and traditions associated with the image for a year. These include taking care of the image proper along with taking the image to church and to visit the sick. It also includes sponsoring many parties especially on certain dates such as Candlemas and Day of the Child on April 30.

Lomas Estrella is a station on Line 12 of the Mexico City Metro. The station is located between San Andrés Tomatlán and Calle 11. It was opened on 30 October 2012 as a part of the first stretch of Line 12 between Mixcoac and Tláhuac.The station is located southeast of the city center, at the intersection between Avenida Tláhuac and Paseo Galias. It is built above the ground.

Calle 11 is a station on Line 12 of the Mexico City Metro. The station is located between Lomas Estrella and Periférico Oriente. It was opened on 30 October 2012 as a part of the first stretch of Line 12 between Mixcoac and Tláhuac.The station is located southeast of the city center, at the intersection between Avenida Tláhuac and 11 Street. It is built above the ground.

Colegio Alejandro Guillot is a private school with three campuses in Tlalpan, Mexico City. Its kindergarten and primary school campus is in Colonia Ex Hacienda Coapa. Its middle school campus and its high school campus are both in Colonia Nueva Oriental Coapa.

Francisco Goitia is one of the stations that are part of the Xochimilco Light Rail, belonging to the only existing line of the system. It is located in the south of Mexico City in the borough of Xochimilco.

Tezonco metro station is a station of the Mexico City Metro in the town of San Lorenzo Tezonco and in the colonia of Granjas San Jerónimo, in Tláhuac, Mexico City. It is an elevated station with two side platforms, served by Line 12 (the Golden Line), between Periférico Oriente and Olivos stations. The station's pictogram features a calavera as it references the area's Day of the Dead traditions during the festivity. The station was opened on 30 October 2012, on the first day of service from Tláhuac to Mixcoac metro stations. The facilities are accessible for people with disabilities as there are elevators, tactile pavings and braille signage plates and there is a bicycle parking station. In 2019, the station had an average daily ridership of 23,131 passengers, making it the fourth-busiest station on the line. The station was closed for 20 months due to structural faults found in the line in 2014. In May 2021, a portion of the station's overhead track collapsed while a train was on it. The track fell onto cars and pedestrians below it, killing 26 and injuring 98.

Periférico Oriente is a station on Line 12 of the Mexico City Metro. The station is located between Calle 11 and Tezonco. It was opened on 30 October 2012 as a part of the first stretch of Line 12 between Mixcoac and Tláhuac.The station is located southeast of the city center, at the intersection between Avenida Tlahuac and the Anillo Periférico. It is built above the ground. The symbol for the station depicts the outline of a prison guard tower, in reference to the nearby Recusorio Oriente prison.

Colegio Madrid, A.C. is a private school in Col. Ex Hacienda San Juan de Dios, Tlalpan, Mexico City, serving preschool through senior high school (bachillerato). In 1941 an exile, named Marcos De La Monja, from the Spanish Civil War established the school.
