Santa Catarina (English: Saint Catherine) is a former parish (freguesia) in the municipality of Lisbon, Portugal. At the administrative reorganization of Lisbon on 8 December 2012 it became part of the parish Misericórdia. Its area is 0.21 km2, and its population exceeds 4081 inhabitants (density 19433 inhabitants/km2).

Misericórdia (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˌmizɨɾiˈkɔɾdjɐ]) is a freguesia (civil parish) and district of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. Located in the historic center of Lisbon, Misericórdia is to the east of Estrela, west of Santa Maria Maior, and south of Santo António. It is home to numerous famous neighborhoods, including Bairro Alto, Príncipe Real, and parts of Chiado. The population in 2011 was 13,044.

Bairro Alto (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈbajʁu ˈaɫtu]; literally: Upper District) is a central district of the city of Lisbon, the Portuguese capital. Unlike many of the civil parishes of Lisbon, this region can be commonly explained as a loose association of neighbourhoods, with no formal local political authority but social and historical significance to the urban community of Lisbon and of Portugal as a whole. The bairro or "neighbourhood" resulted from urban expansion in the 16th century, forming outside the walls of the historical city, and is characterized by an almost orthogonal tract (developing from two phases of distinct urbanization).It is a fundamental quarter of Lisbon, organized into a hierarchical scheme of roads and lanes: the roads, the structural axis, run perpendicular to the river; and the lanes, or secondary axis, cut parallel to the river. The matrix of allotments reflects the persistent use of the medieval layout; the division and multiplication of this module had its origin in the variations of the architectural typology. The space constructed is dominated by living spaces implanted in long narrow lots, three to four storeys in height, with asymmetric facades consisting of windows along the various storeys and staircases along the lateral flanks. Although less representative, the Pombaline-era buildings are common, essentially introducing modifications to the level of the façade's composition. Although there are many typological variations to the facade designs, certain elements are repeated, such as the corners, bay and sill windows, eaves and attics, securing a homogeneous urbanized front.

The Palace of the Counts of Azambuja (Portuguese: Palácio dos Condes da Azambuja), alternately the Palace Valada-Azambuja (Portuguese: Palácio Valada-Azambuja) is a 16th-century Portuguese estate manorhouse/palace situated in the civil parish of Misericórdia, municipality of Lisbon.

The Atelier-Museum Júlio Pomar is a museum in Lisbon, Portugal, that preserves and promotes the work of Júlio Pomar (1926–2018) through temporary exhibitions, events, conferences, and educational activities. Located between Bairro Alto and Madragoa, two of the city's most popular neighborhoods, the museum building was designed by architect Álvaro Siza (Matosinhos, 1933), winner of the 1992 Pritzker Architecture Prize. The museum's holdings include approximately 1,500 works by Júlio Pomar and other artists who were close to him.

The Igreja de São Roque (Church of Saint Roch) is a Roman Catholic church in Lisbon, Portugal. It was the earliest Jesuit church in the Portuguese world, and one of the first Jesuit churches anywhere. The edifice served as the Society's home church in Portugal for over 200 years, before the Jesuits were expelled from that country. After the 1755 Lisbon earthquake, the church and its ancillary residence were given to the Lisbon Holy House of Mercy to replace their church and headquarters which had been destroyed. It remains a part of the Holy House of Mercy today, one of its many heritage buildings. The Igreja de São Roque was one of the few buildings in Lisbon to survive the earthquake relatively unscathed. When built in the 16th century it was the first Jesuit church designed in the “auditorium-church” style specifically for preaching. It contains a number of chapels, most in the Baroque style of the early 17th century. The most notable chapel is the 18th-century Chapel of St. John the Baptist (Capela de São João Baptista), a project by Nicola Salvi and Luigi Vanvitelli constructed in Rome of many precious stones and disassembled, shipped, and reconstructed in São Roque; at the time it was reportedly the most expensive chapel in Europe.

Verride Palace, or the Palace of Santa Catarina, (Portuguese: Palácio de Verride; Palácio de Santa Catarina) is an 18th-century Portuguese palace located in Lisbon, Portugal.

The Hot Club of Portugal (Hot Clube de Portugal) is the oldest jazz club in Portugal and has uninterruptedly developed its activity since 1948. It occupies a cellar in Praça da Alegria (Square of Joy) in Lisbon. With an almost daily concert programme [1], the Hot Club of Portugal is an acclaimed cultural entity in Portugal and abroad. Since the early 1980s, it has also run a jazz school where many Portuguese jazz musicians have learned their skills. Several great jazz musicians have played, jammed and given seminars in both the Praça da Alegria's club and in the Music School, including Ronnie Scott, Sarah Vaughan, Charlie Haden, Benny Golson, Maria João and Dave Liebman.

A statue of António Vieira stands in Trindade Coelho Square in the civil parish of Misericórdia in Lisbon, in front of the Church of Saint Roch and the headquarters of the Lisbon Holy House of Mercy. António Vieira (1608–1697) was a noted Jesuit preacher and missionary in Colonial Brazil. It was unveiled in 2017.

São Mamede (English: Saint Mammes) is a former civil parish (freguesia) in the municipality of Lisbon, Portugal. At the administrative reorganization of Lisbon on 8 December 2012 it became part of the parish Santo António.
