The Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (Mexico's Autonomous Institute of Technology), commonly known as ITAM, is a private university. It is one of Mexico's most important institutions of higher learning; highly prestigious in the social sciences. It is also considered one of Mexico's think tanks and has the highest rank of admission to the Mexican Foreign Service.

Panteón Jardín ("Garden Cemetery") is a cemetery in Mexico City in which several notable people are interred. It is located in the southwest of the city, between the San Ángel and Olivar de los Padres boroughs.It is a garden cemetery, built in what used to be the outskirts of the city in the 1930s. It's wide central boulevard leads to a small hill in the back. It's near 150 acres are used mostly for Catholic burials, but has a special section for Jewish ones, called La Fraternidad (The Fraternity). Since 1946, another section belongs to the National Association of Actors (National Association of Actors), used mainly for actors and actresses. It has a capacity of 85,000 graves. It's non-denominational, and even as a private cemetery, it's open to the public. Notable people buried here are artists, musicians, actors and actresses, politicians and presidents. This makes it a tourist attraction and pilgrimage site for the fans of popular culture Mexican actors, specially from the Golden Age of Mexican cinema, like Pedro Infante, Jorge Negrete and Pedro Armendariz. Every April 15, a multitude of up to 7,000 people come to the grave of Pedro Infante paying homage to the beloved actor, bringing flowers and photos, playing music with mariachis and riding motorcycles.

The “Asociación Mexicana de Cineastas Independientes. AMCI”, Spanish for Mexican Association of Independent Filmmakers is the first private film school in Mexico. The association produces almost 150 short films a year, many showing at international festivals.

El Carmen is a former convent converted to museum in San Ángel, a southern suburb of Mexico City.The convent was founded on 29 June 1615 by the Discalced Carmelites in the area of the Aztec village of Tenanitla, which was later renamed San Ángel. The founder was Father Andrés de San Miguel. This convent was built between 1615 and 1626. In the university, there was a college for theology students and a library, which contained more than 12,000 books. In 1858, the college was closed, and the complex was transferred to the local authorities. In 1929, the museum was created, and in 1939, it was transferred to the newly created Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia.The museum contains a large collection of Mexical colonial religious art including paintings of Miguel Cabrera, as well as original furniture of the monastery, and a collection related to the history of the monastery and relates the life of the Carmelites.

The Insurgentes Ice Rink is an indoor arena located in Mexico City that hosted the wrestling competitions for the 1968 Summer Olympics.

The 38th federal electoral district of the Federal District (Distrito electoral federal 38 del Distrito Federal) is a defunct federal electoral district of Mexico. Occupying a portion of what is today Mexico City, it was in existence from 1978 to 1996. During that time, it returned one deputy to the Chamber of Deputies for each three-year legislative session by means of the first-past-the-post system, electing its first in the 1979 mid-terms and its last in the 1994 general election. Votes cast in the district also counted towards the calculation of proportional representation ("plurinominal") deputies elected from the country's electoral regions. The 31st to 40th districts were abolished in the Federal Electoral Institute's 1996 redistricting process because the capital's population no longer warranted that number of seats in Congress.

La Magdalena Contreras (Spanish pronunciation: [maɣðaˈlena konˈtɾeɾas] ) is a borough (demarcación territorial) in the Mexico City. As of the 2010 census, it has a population of 239,086 inhabitants and is the third-least populous of Mexico City's boroughs. It lies at an elevation of 2,365 m (7,759 ft) above sea level. It is named after two historically important communities—La Magdalena Atlitic and Colonia Contreras. The northern end of the borough is urbanized. The rest of Magdalena Contreras, with its mountains and ravines, is designated as a conservation zone. However, urban sprawl has put pressure on these conservation areas. In an effort to preserve the area's forests and natural resources, the borough government has started promoting ecotourism.

San Ángel is a colonia or neighborhood of Mexico City, located in the southwest in Álvaro Obregón borough. Historically, it was a rural community, called Tenanitla in the pre-Hispanic period. Its current name is derived from the El Carmen monastery school called San Ángel Mártir. San Ángel remained a rural community, centered on the monastery until the 19th and 20th centuries, when the monastery was closed and when the area joined urban sprawl of Mexico City. However, the area still contains many of its former historic buildings and El Carmen is one of the most visited museums in the city. It is also home to an annual flower fair called the Feria de las Flores, held since 1856. In 1934, San Ángel was declared as a Pueblo Típico Pintoresco (Picturesque Typical Town); in 1987, due to presidential order, it was declared historical monument zone.

Estadio Olímpico Universitario is a multi-purpose stadium located inside Ciudad Universitaria in Mexico City. It was built in 1952 and at that time was the largest stadium in Mexico. This stadium has a capacity of 69,000. The first major event held in the stadium was the 1955 Pan American Games. During the 1950s and the 1960s this stadium was used mostly for college American football matches between the largest Mexican public universities at the time: UNAM and IPN. From the late 1950s it was used for football matches, some American football matches and athletics. American architect Frank Lloyd Wright called it "the most important building in the modern America".The Olímpico Universitario hosted the 1968 Summer Olympics; for the event the seating capacity was increased from 70,000 to 83,700 spectators (without substantially modifying the original structure) to cover the IOC requirements for an Olympic stadium. It was the location of the track and field competitions, equestrian events, certain association football matches, the arrival of the marathon and the opening and closing ceremonies. This was the Olympics in which Tommie Smith and John Carlos protested the treatment of African Americans in the United States by performing a black power salute during the medal ceremony for the 200 metres (which occurred in this stadium). The stadium also hosted the track and field events at the 1975 Pan American Games. The stadium hosted four games of the 1986 FIFA World Cup, but the final match was played in the bigger Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. The Tartan track was the first All-weather running track to be used in the Olympics. Such a track is now a requirement. During the second leg of the Liga MX final between Universidad Nacional and América, two hours before the start of the game, the building looked at its maximum capacity, but outside there was still a crowd of at least 30,000 more. At that time, Ciudad Universitaria did not have fences that surrounded it and it was easy to get to the access tunnels of the stadium. During the attempt of the fans to get to the pitch in one of the access tunnels (the tunnel number 29) a number of people got stuck and ended with the death of 11 people and several others injured. Currently, it is the home stadium of Universidad Nacional and American football team Pumas CU. This sport facility is part of the Ciudad Universitaria ("University City"), the main campus of the UNAM.

El Parque de la Bombilla is a public park located in the neighborhood of San Ángel, Álvaro Obregón district, south of Mexico City. The park and the monument memorialize revolutionary general and former president of the republic (1920-24) and in 1928 president-elect, Álvaro Obregón, who was assassinated in 1928 while dining at the restaurant "La Bombilla", now the site of the monument. The monument complex opened on July 17, 1935, the seventh anniversary of the assassination by José de León Toral.

San Jerónimo Lídice, or San Jerónimo Aculco, is a former village now part of Mexico City in the Magdalena Contreras borough in the southwest of the city. A settlement on this spot, Aculco, dates back to Toltec times; its name means "where the water turns". The village specialized in fruit and vegetable production. When a dam in the area was built in 1934, Toltec remains were found, including the slope of a pyramid.The church of San Jerónimo Aculco dates from the 16th century, when it was founded by Franciscans. An open chapel remains. The church was modified in the 18th century. It celebrates its patron saint's day on September 30.In 1943, part of the village changed its name in commemoration of the massacre at Lidice in what is now the Czech Republic. Each year on June 10, the Lidice massacre is commemorated in the square in front of San Jerónimo Church.
