Poruba is an administrative district of the city of Ostrava, Moravian-Silesian Region in the Czech Republic. It lies in the Silesian part of the city. It lies in the historical region of Silesia and was first mentioned in a written document in 1377. Heavy industrialization of Ostrava in the second half of the 19th century didn't have major impact on Poruba which retained its agricultural character. Several factories were built here at the beginning of the 20th century. According to the Austrian census of 1910 the village had 1,403 inhabitants, 1,401 of whom had permanent residence there. Census asked people for their native language, 1,381 (98.6%) were Czech-speaking. Most populous religious group were Roman Catholics with 1,392 (99.2%).Major event in the history of Poruba was a decision of communist authorities to build here a large complex of apartment buildings which were supposed to house workers who came to Ostrava from various parts of the country in large numbers after World War II. The construction began in the early 1950s. At its peak almost 100,000 people lived in Poruba, today about 61,000 people live there. It is one of the most populous districts of the city and is known for its shopping district. Poruba was formerly an independent municipality, in 1957 it became a part of Ostrava. Most important cultural landmarks of Poruba are Saint Nicholas Church and Poruba Castle.

Martinov (German: Martinau) is a village, now administrative district of the city of Ostrava, Moravian-Silesian Region in the Czech Republic. The village was first mentioned in a written document in 1424 as Myrtynow and lies in the historical region of Silesia. Martinov has an agricultural character and has a population of 1,131. The village was administratively joined to Ostrava in July 1961, after that the large food-processing plant was constructed there. Coat of arms of the village depicts Saint Martin of Tours.

Děhylov (German: Dielhau) is a municipality and village in Opava District in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 700 inhabitants.

Svinov (German: Schönbrunn) is a former town, and since 20 March 1957 an administrative district of the city of Ostrava, Moravian-Silesian Region in the Czech Republic. The Opava (Czech: Opava, Polish: Opawa, German: Oppa) is a river in the north-eastern Czech Republic, a left tributary of the Oder river. It originates at the confluence of Bílá (White), Střední (Middle) and Černá (Black) Opava in Vrbno pod Pradědem and runs over 110 km (69 mi) to the Oder at Ostrava, with some 25 km (16 mi) forming the border with Poland. Its basin area is about 2,090 km2, of which 1,814 km2 in the Czech Republic.After the First Silesian War, by the terms of the Treaty of Breslau in 1742, the Opava in the Duchy of Troppau became the border between Austrian and Prussian Silesia (the later Province of Silesia). After World War I the demarcation was confirmed by the 1919 Treaty of Saint-Germain-en-Laye as the border between Czechoslovakia (Czech Silesia) and the Second Polish Republic.

Klimkovice (German: Königsberg) is a spa town in Ostrava-City District in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 4,500 inhabitants.

Hlučín (Czech pronunciation: [ˈɦlutʃiːn]; German: Hultschin; Polish: Hulczyn) is a town in Opava District the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 14,000 inhabitants. It was the centre of the historic Hlučín Region. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone.

Dolní Lhota (German: Klein Ellgoth) is a municipality and village in Ostrava-City District in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,500 inhabitants.
