Karviná

Freistadt District (German: Politischer Bezirk Freistadt, Czech: Politický okres Fryštát, Polish: Powiat polityczny Frysztat) was a political district (equivalent to okres in the Czech Republic and powiat in Poland) in Austrian Silesia, Austria-Hungary existing between 1868 and 1920 (superseded by Czechoslovak Okres Fryštát). Its administrative center was the town of Freistadt (now administratively a part of the city of Karviná, Czech Republic).

Fryštát (Czech: [ˈfrɪʃtaːt]; Polish: Frysztat [ˈfrɨʂtat] ; German: Freistadt [ˈfʁaɪʃtat] ; Cieszyn Silesian: ) is an administrative part of the city of Karviná in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. Until 1948 it was a separate town. It lies on the Olza River, in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia.

Mizerov (Polish: Mizerów, German: Miserau) is a district of the city of Karviná in Karviná District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. It was formerly an independent village but was later incorporated into Fryštát, and later Karviná. It lies in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia and was first mentioned in a written document in 1618. Mizerov has a population of 15,624 (2001).

Městský stadion Karviná is a football stadium in Karviná-Ráj in the Czech Republic. It is the home stadium of MFK Karviná. The stadium holds 4,833 spectators, all of which can be seated.

Ráj (Polish: Raj, German: Roj) is a district of the city of Karviná in Karviná District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. It was a separate municipality but in 1948 became administratively a part of the city of Karviná. It lies in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia and has a population of 17,142 (2001).The hospital is located there, as well as the football field, home of the local team MFK Karviná. The name is cultural in origin, literally paradise, fertile and beautiful land.

The name is of the river means a murmuring river.
