Bissoe (Cornish: Besow, meaning birch trees) is a hamlet in west Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated five miles (8 km) east of Redruth in a former tin mining area. It is in the civil parish of Kea. Bissoe was the site of an early arsenic extraction works, the second such commercial works in Britain. Frederick Hamilton Davey succeeded his father as Works Manager of the Cornwall Arsenic Company's factory at Bissoe in 1902, having acted as his father's assistant for several years. The name is believed to derive from the Cornish word besow meaning birch trees. Bissoe is the home of a small number of businesses, Bissoe Bike Hire, a concrete products company and an environmental waste management company called Clear-flow Ltd. The Bissoe Trail is a world famous cycling trail. Many bikes have been claimed by the challenging conditions of the trail. Bissoe lies on the Coast to Coast Trail long-distance footpath and cycle trail. The trail is 11 miles (17.5 km) long and links the interior of west Cornwall to the harbour of Portreath on the north coast and the former port of Devoran in the south. The trail follows the course of now-disused railways formerly used to carry imported coal and extracted minerals for export. Bissoe Valley Nature Reserve lies to the south of the hamlet.

St Piran's Church is an active Anglican parish church in Perranarworthal, Cornwall, England. It is part of a united benefice consisting of eight churches, the Eight Saints Cluster, in the parishes of Stithians with Perran-Ar-Worthal and Gwennap. The benefice has four licensed clergy and four readers. The church, dedicated to Saint Piran, is in the Carnmarth, North deanery, the archdeaconry of Cornwall and the Diocese of Truro. The church was granted Grade II* listed status in May 1967. The churchyard contains several listed chest tombs and headstones.

Devoran (Cornish: Deveryon) is a village in south Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is 4 miles (6.4 km) southwest of Truro at grid reference SW 793 392. Formerly an ecclesiastical parish, Devoran is now in the civil parish of Feock (where the 2011 census population is included). The village is on the northeast bank of the Carnon River at its confluence with Restronguet Creek, a tidal creek which flows into Carrick Roads above Falmouth. Devoran is at the Normal Tidal Limit (NTL) of the creek but until the 20th-century the tidal limit stretched much further up the valley than now.The name Devoran comes from the Cornish language Deveryon, meaning 'waters'.

The parish population at the 2011 census was 1,496.Perran Wharf is the area of the parish beside the River Kennall (a tributary of Restronguet Creek) where there were wharves and a quay. This has been developed into Perran Foundry where there are new homes and working space settled amidst the history of the site. The other settlements in the parish are Perranwell and Perranwell Station. Perranwell railway station is on the Maritime Line. Perranarworthal parish is bordered on the north by Kea parish, on the east by Restronguet Creek and Mylor parish, on the south by St Gluvias and Stithians parishes and on the west by Gwennap parish.

The hamlet of Hicks Mill is in the civil parish of Gwennap and is related to postcodes TR4 8RB, TR4 8RD and TR4 8SX. There are some 29 residential properties. Hicks Mill is named for a historic flour mill that is registered on the National heritage site list for England as a Listed Building Grade II, List Entry Number: 1140910. The mill is found at Latitude 50° 13' 40" N, Longitude 5° 7' 54" W. Hicks Mill Bible Christian Chapel was built close to the Mill in 1821. It has been enlarged several times and has associations with the 19th-century Cornish evangelist Billy Bray.
