L'Ancienne-Lorette is a city in central Quebec, Canada. It is a suburb of and an enclave within Quebec City. It was merged with Quebec City on January 1, 2002 as part of a 2000–2006 municipal reorganization in Quebec, but, after a 2004 referendum, it was reconstituted as a separate city on January 1, 2006. Its history dates to 1674, when a group of Huron (Wyandot) fleeing war with the Iroquois settled there under the protection of the French. It was founded as a mission village by the Jesuits. The Wyandot left after a few decades, and French settlers took over the land.

The Collège de Champigny is a private secondary school. Founded by the Sacred Heart Brothers in 1969, it was established to provide education to everyone, according to the wishes of Father André Coindre, its founder. It is the only private school in L'Ancienne-Lorette and in the Sainte-Foy sector of Québec City. From 1945 to 1967, the mission of the Sacred Heart Brothers in the college was to form future priests and brothers. Part of the building still houses the brothers and former professors.

Champigny is an administrative sector and neighbourhood of Quebec City. It is also the name of a sub-sub-fief on the île d'Orléans in the era of New France that may have give its name to the neighbourhood. Also located here are Champigny Park, Champigny Street East and Champigny Street West. The two Champigny Streets were formerly Champigny Road, part of the Chemin du Roy from Quebec City to Montreal.Champigny is also the name of Jean Bochart de Champigny, sieur de Noroy et Verneuil, chevalier and intendant of New France from 1687 to 1702. It is unclear whether the neighbourhood is named after the sub-sub-fief or the intendant.

Cap-Rouge is a former city in central Quebec, Canada, since 2002 within the borough Sainte-Foy–Sillery–Cap-Rouge in Quebec City. The site of the first attempted permanent French settlement in North America, Charlesbourg-Royal, is located at the confluence of the Rivière du Cap Rouge and the Saint Lawrence River. Its population was 13,153 as of the Canada 2011 Census.

The Cap-Rouge trestle (French: Tracel de Cap-Rouge) is a railway trestle bridge inaugurated in 1908 and still in use in the community of Cap-Rouge, part of the borough of Sainte-Foy–Sillery–Cap-Rouge in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. It was commissioned in 1906 as a section of the National Transcontinental Railway to span the Rivière du Cap Rouge valley and connect the eastbound railway with the newly built and nearby Quebec Bridge. It was built as a steel structure by the Dominion Bridge Company at a total cost of 800 000 Canadian dollars.At 173 feet (53 m), it is one of the highest structures on which trains are operated in the province of Quebec and as such, has become over the years an attractive location for trespassers. As a response, its points of access have been fenced and a video surveillance system installed. As of October 2018, it is only used by freight trains, at the relatively slow speed of approximately 12 miles per hour (19 km/h).

Loretteville is a former city in central Quebec, Canada. It was amalgamated into Quebec City on January 1, 2002. It is located within the borough of La Haute-Saint-Charles, and also contains the upmarket neighbourhood of Montchâtel. Its population in 2001 was 13,737 residents. Loretteville is the birthplace of pop singer Mitsou and Rockford Ice Hogs goalie Jean-François Rivard and poet/musician Geneviève Castrée.

The Cap-Rouge river (French: Rivière du Cap Rouge) is a river flowing on the north shore of the Saint-Laurent river at the height of the Sainte-Foy–Sillery–Cap-Rouge borough of Quebec City and in the city of Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, both cities in the administrative region of Capitale-Nationale, in the province of Quebec, Canada.The catchment area of the Cap Rouge river extends into: the regional county municipality (MRC) of La Jacques-Cartier Regional County Municipality: in the Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier; the agglomeration of Quebec: L'Ancienne-Lorette, Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures and the city of Quebec.The Cap Rouge river valley is mainly served by the route 367 (route de Fossambault) which is perpendicular to the Saint-Laurent river, the "chemin du rang des Mines" (on the south shore from the top), route 138 (boulevard Wilfrid-Hamel), boulevard Auclair, avenue Le Gendre, boulevard de la Chaudière, rue Provencher and rue Saint-Félix.The surface of the Cap Rouge river (except the rapids areas) is generally frozen from the beginning of December to the end of March; safe circulation on the ice is generally done from the end of December to the beginning of March. The water level of the river varies with the seasons and the precipitation; the spring flood occurs in March or April.

Laurentien (French pronunciation: [loʁɑ̃sjɛ̃]; 2001 census population 82,965) is a former borough of Quebec City. It comprised Val-Bélair, Cap-Rouge and part of Sainte-Foy. Before January 1, 2006, Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures and L'Ancienne-Lorette were also part of this borough, but they were restored as separate municipalities. In the reorganization of Quebec City's boroughs on November 1, 2009, Laurentien was divided between the boroughs of Sainte-Foy–Sillery–Cap-Rouge and La Haute-Saint-Charles.

Fort Charlesbourg Royal (1541—1543) is a National Historic Site in the Cap-Rouge neighbourhood of Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. Established by Jacques Cartier in 1541, it was France's first attempt at a colony in North America, and was abandoned two years later. In 1608, France would establish a successful colony, the Habitation de Québec, in the same area.

The Park of the Kabir Kouba Cliff and Waterfall is a public park in Quebec City, Quebec crossed by the Saint-Charles River. The rapids and falls of this section of the river are called Kabir Kouba the «river of a thousand bends» in the Montagnais language. An interpretive center and trails permit the observation of the Kabir Kouba waterfall that has a height of 28 metres. The trails also provide a view of the canyon which at its highest point measures 42 metres as well as a rich variety of flora, fauna and fossils dating over 455 million years old. The interpretive center also offers services such as Kabir Kouba by Lantern, A Day at Loretteville package as well as guided visits of the falls. A song by the singer Claire Pelletier, Kabir Kouba, evoques the many Huron legends that honour the river and the waterfall.

The Rivière du Curé (English: Priest's river or Curé River) is a tributary of the northwest shore of the Saint-Laurent river, flowing in the municipality of Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, in Agglomération de Québec, in the administrative region of Capitale-Nationale, in the province from Quebec, to Canada. The Rivière du Curé's valley is mainly served by chemin du Roy and chemin Tessier, especially for the needs of residents in the urban area of Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures.The surface of the Curé river (except the rapids areas) is generally frozen from the beginning of December to the end of March; safe circulation on the ice is generally done from the end of December to the beginning of March. The water level of the river varies with the seasons and the precipitation; the spring flood occurs in March or April.
