Loretteville, Quebec City

The Park of the Kabir Kouba Cliff and Waterfall is a public park in Quebec City, Quebec crossed by the Saint-Charles River. The rapids and falls of this section of the river are called Kabir Kouba the «river of a thousand bends» in the Montagnais language. An interpretive center and trails permit the observation of the Kabir Kouba waterfall that has a height of 28 metres. The trails also provide a view of the canyon which at its highest point measures 42 metres as well as a rich variety of flora, fauna and fossils dating over 455 million years old. The interpretive center also offers services such as Kabir Kouba by Lantern, A Day at Loretteville package as well as guided visits of the falls. A song by the singer Claire Pelletier, Kabir Kouba, evoques the many Huron legends that honour the river and the waterfall.

Wendake is the current name for two urban reserves, Wendake 7 (46°51′24″N 71°21′12″W) and Wendake 7A, (46°52′13″N 71°21′54″W) of the Huron-Wendat Nation in the Canadian province of Quebec. They are enclaves entirely surrounded by the La Haute-Saint-Charles borough of Quebec City, within the former city of Loretteville. One of the Seven Nations of Canada, the settlement was formerly known as Village-des-Hurons ("Huron Village"), and also as (Jeune)-Lorette ("New Lorette"). Since the late 20th century, archeologists have found large 16th-century villages of the Wendat (Huron) in the northern Lake Ontario region, which is where they believe the people coalesced as a distinct group. Later they migrated south and by the early 17th century had settled in their historical territory of Wendake in the Georgian Bay region. The Wyandot Confederation was made up of loosely associated tribes who spoke a mutually intelligible Iroquoian language.

CIHW-FM is a Canadian radio station, which broadcasts to the Huron-Wendat Nation. Broadcasting on 100.3 FM, CIHW is a community radio station operated by the Huron-Wendat Nation at Wendake, an enclave of First Nations land within Quebec City.

The Nelson River is located in the administrative region of Capitale-Nationale, in province of Quebec, in Canada. It is part of the watershed of the Saint-Charles River. The course of this river crosses: the La Jacques-Cartier Regional County Municipality: the municipality of Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier; the Quebec city: sector La Haute-Saint-Charles and Neufchâtel-Nord area.The Nelson River Valley is mainly served by Nelson River Street, Valcartier Boulevard, Rue du Petit Vallon, Route de la Bravoure and Route Cathcart. The surface of the Saint-Charles River (except the rapids areas) is generally frozen from the beginning of December to the end of March; however, safe circulation on the ice is generally done from the end of December to the beginning of March. The water level of the river varies with the seasons and the precipitation; the spring flood occurs in March or April.

Lac-Saint-Charles–Saint-Émile is the northernmost district of Quebec City located in the borough of La Haute-Saint-Charles. The district was created following an electoral reorganization in 2009. Before the 2000–2006 municipal reorganization in Quebec, the area was occupied by the cities of Saint-Émile and Lac-Saint-Charles.

La Haute-Saint-Charles is a borough of Quebec City. Population (2006): 74,070. It comprises Lac-Saint-Charles, Saint-Émile, Neufchâtel, Loretteville and Val-Bélair. It also entirely surrounds the urban Indian reserve of Wendake, which is autonomous from the borough.

L'Ancienne-Lorette is a city in central Quebec, Canada. It is a suburb of and an enclave within Quebec City. It was merged with Quebec City on January 1, 2002 as part of a 2000–2006 municipal reorganization in Quebec, but, after a 2004 referendum, it was reconstituted as a separate city on January 1, 2006. Its history dates to 1674, when a group of Huron (Wyandot) fleeing war with the Iroquois settled there under the protection of the French. It was founded as a mission village by the Jesuits. The Wyandot left after a few decades, and French settlers took over the land.

The Collège de Champigny is a private secondary school. Founded by the Sacred Heart Brothers in 1969, it was established to provide education to everyone, according to the wishes of Father André Coindre, its founder. It is the only private school in L'Ancienne-Lorette and in the Sainte-Foy sector of Québec City. From 1945 to 1967, the mission of the Sacred Heart Brothers in the college was to form future priests and brothers. Part of the building still houses the brothers and former professors.

Lac-Saint-Charles is a former city in Quebec and is now a district of the Quebec City borough of La Haute-Saint-Charles. The population as of the Canada 2011 Census was 9,886. It existed from 1946 until being amalgamated into Quebec City in 2002.

Les Rivières (The Rivers) is a borough of Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. Population (2006): 59,920. It comprises 5 neighbourhoods: Neufchâtel-Est, Lebourgneuf, Duberger, Les Saules and Vanier. Except for Vanier, all of these neighbourhoods were part of the pre-2002 city of Quebec.

The Lorette River is a tributary of the Saint-Charles River, crossing the sector Sainte-Foy–Sillery–Cap-Rouge and the area of L'Ancienne-Lorette in Quebec City, in the administrative region of Capitale-Nationale, in the province of Quebec, Canada. The Lorette river valley is mainly served by various urban roads, notably the route 358 (avenue Notre-Dame), boulevard Chauveau Ouest, rue Saint-Olivier, rue Saint- Jean-Baptiste, rue Saint-Paul, route 138 (boulevard Wilfrid-Hamel), boulevard du Parc-Technologique and boulevard Masson.The surface of the Lorette River (except the rapids areas) is generally frozen from the beginning of December to the end of March; safe circulation on the ice is generally done from the end of December to the beginning of March.
