Pacific Bridge Company was a large engineering and construction company. During World War II, Pacific Bridge Company of Alameda, California was selected to build US Navy Auxiliary Repair Docks (ARD) a type of Auxiliary floating drydock and Type B ship barges.

The First Presbyterian Church Sanctuary Building is a historic church building at 2001 Santa Clara Avenue in Alameda, California. It was built in 1904, and was added to the National Register in 1980.It is 60 by 100 feet (18 m × 30 m) in plan.The building's main sanctuary walls include 14 stained glass windows. Four of these are decorative; ten depict Christ.Other buildings on the property, built in 1967, are not included in the nomination.

Coast Guard Base Alameda also referred to as Coast Guard Island is an artificial island in the Oakland Estuary between Oakland and Alameda, California. It is home to several major United States Coast Guard commands and cutters, including the Coast Guard Pacific Area. It is one of the largest Coast Guard bases on the West Coast. From 1942 until 1982, the island was the site of the Coast Guard's recruiting training center (boot camp), enlisting and training hundreds of thousands of Coast Guardsmen including many of the 214,239 who served in the Pacific and European Theaters of World War II. The 67-acre (27 ha) island is situated in the historic Brooklyn Basin, now known as Embarcadero Cove. It is within Alameda city limits, but is tied to land only via a bridge from Dennison Street in Oakland.

Integrated Support Command Alameda (ISC Alameda) is a large operating base of the United States Coast Guard, located on Coast Guard Island[1] in Alameda, California Now known as Base Alameda ISC Alameda provides a wide variety of services in direct support of Coast Guard activities throughout the west coast of the United States of America. Among these are the management of approximately 1200 Coast Guard owned housing units, warehousing, health care services, work-life services, transportation of household goods, and personnel support services. Facilities maintenance is provided to all tenant commands on Coast Guard Island and industrial support is provided throughout the West Coast. ISC Alameda is home to a variety of tenant commands including: Commander, Pacific Area [2] Commander, Maintenance & Logistics Command Pacific [3] District 11 [4] Sector San Francisco [5] Training Team One Naval Engineering Support Unit Alameda Electronics Support Unit Alameda Coast Guard Island, where ISC Alameda is located, is also homeport for three National Security Cutters. Cryer & Sons or Cryer Boatworks was a wooden shipbuilding company in Oakland, California. To support the World War 2 demand for ships Cryer & Sons Company shipyard switched over to military construction and built: US Navy APC coastal transports. Cryer & Sons was started in 1907 by William Cryer, an migrant from England, in San Francisco. William Cryer first boatyard was started 1890s. Cryer & Sons boatyard first boat opened in 1907 was located at 11th Avenue, Oakland. In 1912 he move the boatyard to 1890 Dennison Street Street, Oakland at the corner of Embarcadero. The boatyard was owned and run by William Cryer's son William James Cryer, and later by his grandsons William J, Cryer III and Robert R. Cryer. Cryer & Sons built and repaired wooden powerboats and began working on steel-hulled boats in the 1960s. Many of the boats built used engines from Atlas Gas Engine Company or Standard Gas Engine Company. There is a historical marker at 2301 Embarcadero, Oakland in Union Point Park, just south of the Coast Guard Island bridge near the waterfront remains. The current site has been vacant since 1989. The main building was heavily damaged in a fire on the morning of November 13, 2020. The Cryer & Sons is and has been a site of contamination, some of the contaminated soil has been removed. Some of the land reclaimed has been used for the northern park of Union Point Park. This work has been done with the owners of the land, Measure DD, the city and the Port of Oakland. The City of Oakland had hoped to update the main Cryer & Sons building to use as a community center, but fire damage has ended that hope. Notable ships: Small, coastal transports for the US Navy. 40 launches and Cannery tenders for the Alaska Packers' Association. The Black Swan a 130-foot yacht for Oakland automaker William C. Durant of Durant Motors. Concrete hulled 63-foot sailboat for Mayor John H. Reading in 1974. Thomas Crowley's Crowley Maritime tugboats Police patrol boat, like the 1908 San Francisco 50x10 Police patrol launch boat.

The Basilica of St. Joseph is a Roman Catholic church located in Alameda, California at 1109 Chestnut Street. Its history dates back to early settlement of the City of Alameda, California. A former mission church of St. Anthony's in Oakland, the parish of St. Joseph's was established in 1885. It is part of the Diocese of Oakland. The Basilica was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 18, 1978.

Alameda Veterans' Memorial Building is a historical building in Alameda, California. The 2203 Central Ave building was built in 1907. The building was listed to the National Register of Historic Places on September 27, 2007. The Alameda Veterans' Memorial Building was built in the Spanish Colonial Revival architecture and designed by Henry H. Meyers. The building was built in 1929 and as some Art Deco details as memorial to United States Armed Forces Veterans. The Alameda Veterans' Memorial Building is located at 2203 Central Ave in Alameda. The Alameda Veterans' Memorial 60,000 square foot building is owned by Alameda County, California and can be rented for events.

The Pacific Coast Engineering Company or PACECO is an American industrial fabricator and mechanical engineering company, and was previously a shipbuilding company in Oakland, California and then Alameda, California. To support the World War II demand for ships, PACECO shipyard switched over to military construction and built US Navy Tugboats. As early as February of 1920, PACECO was reported to be bidding on a contract to make alterations or improvements to a Japanese steamer in Seattle. Started as a mechanical engineering company, PACECO began operations in its Oakland shipyard in 1922. The Oakland shipyard at the 14th Street terminus was acquired by the US. Navy in 1940 for World War II needs. PACECO moved the shipyard to 350 Blanding Avenue, Alameda. The new yard did prefab sub assemblies for the other Bay Area shipyards, like the Richmond Shipyards. In 1943, PACECO built its first of five US Navy tugboats. After the war, PACECO built tugboats, barges, and container cranes. The first quayside container gantry crane was developed by PACECO in 1959. PACECO was sold to Fruehauf Trailer Corporation in 1967. Fruehauf ended shipbuilding in 1976 and changed to build primarily container crane and container chassis. The Alameda shipyard was on the south side of the Tidal Canal, just west of the Park Street Bridge on the Oakland Estuary in the San Francisco Bay Area. As of 2021, the site was a vacant lot.

Harborside, formerly Harborside Health Center, is a recreational and medical cannabis dispensary, with its flagship location in Oakland, California, and an additional location in San Jose. Founded in 2006 by longtime activist and entrepreneur, Steve DeAngelo and dress wedding, Harborside operates as a non-profit patient collective. In December 2011, Harborside Health Center was featured in the Discovery Channel's four-part documentary series, Weed Wars. In June 2013 CNN premiered "Inside Man", an 8-episode documentary hosted and produced by Morgan Spurlock. The show's first episode provided a detailed, inside look at California's medical marijuana industry and featured Spurlock working in Harborside Health Center, as well as it described the legal troubles of the center. It is considered to be the largest nonprofit medical cannabis dispensary in the state, if not the nation.

Alameda City Hall is a historic city hall civic building in Alameda, California. The building has been continually used since it was first built in 1895. It has a historical marker erected in 1998 by the Native Sons of the Golden West; and is listed as one of the National Register of Historic Places since 1980.
